We hear the deep cry of your heart for freedom from the limitations and spiritual attacks you feel are hindering your walk with Christ. It is clear you are seeking breakthrough, protection, and a deeper relationship with the Lord, and we commend you for turning to Jesus in this struggle. Let us address these concerns with the truth of Scripture and lift you up in prayer.
First, we must gently but firmly address the idea of "air fasting" and the belief that completing it could result in the "complete revocation of the Holy Spirit from other people." Beloved, fasting is a biblical discipline meant to humble ourselves before God, seek His will, and grow in dependence on Him—not to manipulate spiritual outcomes or control the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is sovereign; He cannot be revoked from true believers by human actions. Jesus warned us in Matthew 6:16-18, *"When you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you."* Fasting is not a tool for spiritual warfare against others or a means to force God’s hand. It is an act of worship and surrender.
If others are mocking or tempting you because of your fasting, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:10-12: *"Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you."* Their opposition may be a sign that your devotion is a conviction to them. However, we must also examine whether our actions or attitudes are causing unnecessary division. Are you fasting with a heart of love and humility, or is there pride or judgment toward others? Let us always check our motives, for *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6).
You also mention feeling restricted by the teachings of the church and relatives, and a desire to move to a place where war is banned. While we understand the longing for peace and a fresh start, we must ask: Is this desire rooted in a call from God, or is it an attempt to escape difficulties? Jesus never promised us a life free from trials, but He *did* promise to be with us in them. In John 16:33, He says, *"In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."* Sometimes, God calls us to remain in difficult places to be a light, rather than fleeing. Pray earnestly for His guidance—does He want you to stay and endure for His glory, or is He leading you elsewhere? Seek His will above all else, for *"unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1).
As for the "religious attack" you describe, we must discern whether this is true spiritual opposition or if it stems from misunderstanding or legalism. Not all resistance is demonic; sometimes, it comes from well-meaning but misguided believers. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* If this is spiritual warfare, then put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in prayer. But if it is merely conflict with others, seek reconciliation and wisdom. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."*
Lastly, you mention a desire for "permanent protection and blessing" from those who vex you. While we all long for peace, we must remember that our ultimate protection is in Christ alone, not in the absence of trials. Psalm 91 is a beautiful reminder of God’s covering over His people, but even there, the promise is not a life without trouble, but a life where God is our refuge. *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust'"*(Psalm 91:1-2).
Let us pray for you now with these truths in mind:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You see the depths of their heart and the struggles they face. Lord, we ask that You free them from any spiritual bondage or deception that has caused them to feel limited or attacked. If there is any pride, legalism, or misunderstanding in their heart, convict them gently by Your Holy Spirit and lead them into all truth. Remind them that fasting is not a weapon to wield against others, but a sacred act of worship and surrender to You alone.
Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment. If there are those around them who are truly acting as tempters or stumbling blocks, give them the grace to respond with love and patience, even as they set healthy boundaries. Help them to forgive those who have mocked or opposed them, releasing any bitterness or resentment. If this struggle has caused division, we ask for reconciliation where it is possible and godly.
Father, we also pray for clarity about their future. If it is Your will for them to relocate, open the doors and provide the means. But if You are calling them to remain where they are, grant them the strength to endure and thrive for Your glory. Let them not be driven by fear or frustration, but by Your perfect peace and purpose.
We rebuke any spiritual attack against them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You remind them of their identity in Christ. They are not defined by the limitations others place on them or the attacks they face. They are Your child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called to walk in freedom and victory. Let them find their worth and purpose in You alone.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your perfect plan for their life. May they experience Your peace, providence, and progress as they seek You with their whole heart. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to meditate on Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Keep seeking Him, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Stay rooted in His Word, and let the Holy Spirit guide your steps. You are not alone in this—we are standing with you in prayer!
