We join you in lifting up your fasting journey and spiritual battles to our Lord, for it is written, *"Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?"* (Isaiah 58:6, WEB). Your desire to press into the third day of fasting is commendable, as fasting humbles our flesh and sharpens our dependence on Christ. We stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to strengthen you in body, mind, and spirit as you seek Him with a contrite heart.
However, we must gently address the language used in your request. The call to "slaughter the spirits and souls" is not aligned with the heart of Christ or the authority we are given as believers. Our battle is not against flesh and blood—nor even against human souls—but against principalities, powers, and spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Jesus did not come to slaughter souls but to save them (Luke 19:10). Instead, we are to *resist* the devil (James 4:7), *bind* the works of darkness (Matthew 12:29), and *pray for our enemies* (Matthew 5:44). The weapon of our warfare is the Word of God, prayer, and the blood of Jesus—not violence, even in spiritual language. Let us instead pray for the *deliverance* of those ensnared by darkness and the *breaking* of demonic influence over your life.
We also rejoice that you invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is by His authority that we trample upon the enemy (Luke 10:19). Let us now lift you up in prayer with these truths in mind:
---
Heavenly Father, we thank You for our brother/sister who seeks You earnestly through fasting and prayer. Lord, grant them supernatural strength to complete this fast unto the third day and beyond, as You lead. May their flesh be subdued, their spirit be sharpened, and their faith be fortified in this season of seeking You.
We come against every spirit of paranoia and temptation that seeks to derail their focus on You. By the blood of Jesus, we bind these forces and command them to flee in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We do not pray for the destruction of souls, Father, but for their salvation—even those who may oppose Your work in this life. Break every chain of darkness influencing our sibling in Christ and let Your light expose and dispel every lie of the enemy.
Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Provide for their every need—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—as they press into You. Let this fast be a holy offering before You, Lord, and may it bring breakthrough, clarity, and a deeper intimacy with Your Spirit.
We ask all this in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and King. Amen.

Beloved, as you continue in this fast, meditate on the words of Jesus: *"But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly"* (Matthew 6:17-18, WEB). Your reward is not in the completion of the fast itself but in the secret place with God, where He meets you and transforms you. Stay steadfast, and may the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek His face. If paranoia or temptation arises, speak the Word of God aloud—*"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7)—and cling to the truth that *greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world* (1 John 4:4). You are not alone in this fight; we stand with you, and most importantly, Christ stands with you. Press on!
