Father, it's no small thing to thanks to give for answered prayers ending 4+ months of silence and replacing it with some peace and restoration of video time w/ my young son in Asia. Thank You for agreement in some small yet important matters. Grant a radical return to my 1st Love, Jesus Christ, Rev 3:19-20, let me freely receive love and freely dump love on my boy. May Your will, words & love be first and evident in conversations with the youngster, help form a gracious and compassionate view of God, Ex 34:6, learn to love God, Mark 12:30, and others, Mark 12:31, yet be brought up in righteousness, Eph 6:4, 2 Tim 3:15-16.

Help us learn each others' languages, help me and her both hold our tongues, help me hold nothing against her, but put her in your hands -- Especially the the other people she's been with as we know God cannot be mocked, Gal 6:7, and, Prov 6:32. Let her get off the broad and heavily traveled path that leads to destruction by striving to enter by the narrow gate, Matt 7:13-14. A practical way to do this would be for her to delete her social media profiles and confess her sins to a pastor and have accountability, James 5:16.

The deeds of the flesh are evident, Gal 5:19-20, Rev 22:15 -- Outside are the dogs, the sexually immoral, and those who love to live in (practice) a lie." Keep the boy from evil, Matt 6:13 & both from evil people and the evil one, Jn 17:15. Use her “pastors” let them see through her deceptions, confront sin & hedge her way with thorns so she can’t pursue others, Hos 2:6. Grant her repentance, 2 Peter 3:9, for that's the Gospel, Luke 24:46-47, all of Acts -- Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Acts 17:30, Acts 26:18-20, 2 Cor 7:9-11.

So, Father, we thank You in one hand for some time together with my son, Ecclesiastes 7:18, yet with the other, ask she be convicted, Jn 16:8, hedged in with thorns so she can't pursue her lovers, Hos 2:6-7, come to her senses and repent as the prodigal, Lk 15:17-20. Please let her help facilitate calls so they go more smoothly, Prov 31:12. Keep the boy from temptation, sin's influences through wicked spirits, Eph 6:12-19, and keep them from deception, Matt 24:4-8, sin, 1 Cor 8:1, wrongdoing, 2 Cor 13:7, wrongdoing, fear and lies, Zeph 3:13, imposters and evil people, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 1 Cor 11:26, 2 Thes 3:2, temptation, evil and the evil one, Lk 11:4, Matt 6:13, Jn 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3, Rev 12:9. We join you in thanksgiving for what God has done, for everything God does will endure forever Ecclesiastes 3:14 and we rejoice with you that after more than four months of silence the Lord has granted peace and the restoration of video time with your young son. We thank God with you for this answered prayer and for agreement in even small but important matters, for every good gift comes from the Father and we do not take this restoration lightly.

We pray with you for your own walk, that you would return with radical devotion to your first love Jesus Christ, for He says As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock Revelation 3:19-20. We ask the Lord to let you freely receive His love and freely pour that love upon your boy, that in your conversations His will and His words and His love would be first and evident. May the Lord help you form in your son a true view of who God is, that Yahweh is a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth Exodus 34:6, and that your son would learn to love the Lord his God with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind, and with all his strength Mark 12:30 and to love his neighbor as himself Mark 12:31, and that you may nurture him in the discipline and instruction of the Lord Ephesians 6:4, for from infancy the sacred writings are able to make him wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus and all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:15-16. We ask for help learning each other's languages and for grace to hold your tongues, and for a heart that holds nothing against her but entrusts her fully into God's hands.

We must speak plainly about the sin you have described, and we do so in love. What you describe concerning the mother of your son pursuing other lovers is adultery and sexual immorality, and Scripture is very clear that the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies Galatians 5:19-20 and that outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and whoever loves and practices falsehood Revelation 22:15. The marriage covenant is holy before God, for marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul Proverbs 6:32 and do not be deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap Galatians 6:7. The broad way that seems heavily traveled leads to destruction, but narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it Matthew 7:13-14. We agree with you that this is not a matter to be ignored or excused, and we pray that she would be confronted and not allowed to continue in deception.

Therefore we pray as you have asked that the Lord would hedge her way with thorns as He promised, Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, so that she can’t find her paths. She will follow after her lovers, but she won’t overtake them Hosea 2:6-7, that her pursuits would be frustrated and blocked until she can no longer chase what is destroying her. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment John 16:8 and that God in His patience would grant her repentance, for the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. We pray she would come to her senses as the prodigal did, when he came to himself and said I will get up and go to my father, and will tell him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight Luke 15:17-18 and that she would truly repent, for Jesus commanded that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations Luke 24:47 and Peter preached Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins Acts 2:38. We pray she would stop sinning so nothing worse happens to her John 5:14 and hear and obey the word of Jesus, I don’t condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more John 8:11. We agree that a practical step of repentance would be to delete social media profiles that fuel temptation, to confess her sins to a pastor and find godly accountability, for confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed James 5:16, and to strive to do good and facilitate those calls so that they go more smoothly, for a worthy woman does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life Proverbs 31:12.

We pray for your son and for both households, deliver us from the evil one Matthew 6:13 and we ask as Jesus prayed, I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one John 17:15. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers Ephesians 6:12 and so we put on the whole armor of God and pray that the boy would be kept from temptation, from deception, from wrongdoing and lies, from evil people and impostors, and from the influences of wicked spirits. Keep them from being led astray, for many will come in deception Matthew 24:4.

Father, we thank You together for the video times restored, and we ask You to use them for Your glory. Let Your love be evident in every call, let Your truth be spoken in gentleness, let this father be strengthened to walk in first love with Christ and to shepherd his son in righteousness. Hedge this woman's way with thorns so she cannot pursue her lovers, bring her to her senses, grant her godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and let her turn from the broad path to the narrow way that leads to life. Protect this child from all evil and from the evil one, and let Your will be done in this family, in Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We are grateful with you for this turn after more than four months of silence. Having regular video time again with your little boy is such a gift, and we thank God with you for the peace that has come with it.

We notice your heart in this, wanting those calls to be marked by patience and kindness, to show your son a gracious and steady love, and to keep entrusting his mother to the Lord instead of carrying resentment. That is a good and difficult path, and it honors both your son and the Lord.

As you move forward, two small practices may help you stay grounded. Keep the video times simple and child centered, a few consistent phrases in his language, a calm routine he can count on, rather than trying to cover too much. And stay anchored with one trusted pastor or mature brother who knows your story, so you have a place to process hurt and the slow work of forgiveness, which often begins as a choice and only later settles in the heart.

Father, we thank You for restoring these visits and for the peace You have given. Keep drawing this father close to You as his first love, give him wisdom and self control in every conversation, guard his young son from evil and confusion, and work in this mother's heart to bring clarity, conviction and a desire for what is right. Lead this family according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is good reason to give thanks with you for what the Lord has done in granting again a measure of peace and restoring video time with your young son after more than four months of silence. Everything God does lasts forever, and when He in mercy restores what was broken we do well to receive it with gratitude and to remember that every good gift comes from His hand. We join you in thanking Him for this open door and for agreement in small yet important matters, and we pray that this restored communion may be used for the boy's good and for the glory of Christ.

Your desire to return to your first love is the right desire. Hear the Lord as He stands and knocks, and open to Him, for He has promised to come in and sup with those who hear His voice. Freely receive His love, and then freely pour that love upon your son. Let your conversation with the child be seasoned with the knowledge of God as gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, that he may learn to love the Lord with all his heart and to love his neighbor as himself, and be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and in the Scriptures which are able to make him wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. What an influential preacher a father is to his son. Whatever you do he will mark and copy, therefore walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, holding your tongue, speaking what is edifying, and showing him by your own repentance and faith what it is to follow Christ. Pray that you may learn his language and he yours, and that your words may form in him a true and tender view of God.

Concerning your prayer for the mother of your son, we hear your burden and we take it seriously before the Lord. The Scriptures teach that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual union belongs within that covenant alone. Outside that covenant are the works of the flesh which are evident, and those who practice such things and love to live in a lie stand outside the city of God unless they repent. God cannot be mocked, whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap. The broad and heavily traveled path leads to destruction, but the narrow gate leads to life. We therefore cannot ask God to bless or affirm any way that departs from His holy ordinance, but we can and do ask Him to grant true repentance.

You have prayed that her way might be hedged with thorns that she cannot pursue her lovers, and that she may come to her senses as the prodigal did and return to the Father. That is a scriptural prayer when offered in love and not in bitterness. The prodigal's father did not kick his son when he returned, but fell upon his neck and kissed him much with the kisses of forgiveness, and heard his prayer before he offered it. So we pray that the Lord would in mercy hedge and hinder every sinful pursuit, not to destroy but to awaken, that she may see the black ashes of earth for what they are and remember the white bread of her Father's house. If the flavor of Christ's love has once been known, the soul is spoiled for the world, and God's children are never happy when they leave their Father. We pray that any pastors or shepherds near her may see clearly, speak truthfully in love, and confront sin faithfully, and that she may be brought to confess her sins and find accountability, for we are to confess our faults one to another and pray one for another that we may be healed.

Remember that there is a repentance after a fashion which is of the flesh and profits nothing, a carnal sorrow that takes the profit of an evil trade while condemning the trade itself. That is sheer hypocrisy and will not save. The repentance which glorifies God is that which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, where the sinner loathes evil because it is hateful to Christ, turns from it, and ever afterwards craves holiness. Such repentance makes a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and His finished work. Faith and repentance are inseparable companions. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart must go together. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. Therefore we pray not only that she may stop sinning so that nothing worse befalls her and go and sin no more, but that she may believe the gospel, for repentance and faith are the love notes of the Bridegroom.

For yourself, brother, take heed that you hold nothing against her in bitterness, but put her into the hands of God who judges righteously. Our Lord prayed for Peter that his faith fail not, and because Jesus prays His people are sure to be restored though they be sifted. If you have been washed, pray still, wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin, hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. Repentance is the daily and hourly duty of the man who believes in Christ, and as we walk by faith from the wicket gate to the celestial city, repentance must be our right hand companion all the journey through. Do not make an idol even of your child, but love him in the Lord, committing him constantly to Him who in every act, whether in giving or in taking away, acts in infinite love toward His children.

We pray for your son, that the Lord would keep him from evil and from the evil one, from temptation and from evil people, from deception and from the influences of wicked spirits, and that He would keep both the boy and his mother from the snares of the enemy. We pray that your calls together may go smoothly, that you may be kept from fear and lies, and that the Lord would give you wisdom to speak what is true and gracious, putting away imposture and vanity.

May the Lord grant clear shining after rain in your home. Though there has been gloom, an age of light may follow, for our God delights to restore and to heal. Continue steadfast in prayer, walking uprightly, for no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly, and all the promises in the Book belong to every repentant sinner who returns to God believing in Jesus Christ His Son, through whom alone is salvation. We commend you and your son and his mother to that only Savior, praying that each of you may know fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, in whose name we ask all these things.
