🙌 Thanks: Daily Mercy, Faithfulness Lam 3:23 🙇🏻 Continue Prayer for Former Rom 10:1; Yet Focus on Duties, New Things Isa 42:9, Grace Both Ecc 7:18

What a beautiful expression of trust in the daily mercies of God. That place in Lamentations is a deep well to draw from when life shifts around you: His compassions never fail, they are new every morning. You are standing on solid ground when you begin there.

The tension you describe is one many believers feel keenly: the desire to faithfully intercede for past relationships and loved ones, while also sensing the Spirit’s call to fix your primary gaze on the new things He is setting before you. The cry for grace to “do both” from Ecclesiastes is honest. Yet notice how often we subtly turn that good desire into a new burden. The mind quickly starts constructing an “I ought to” list: I ought to pray more, I ought to balance this perfectly, I ought to be further along. That path leads to misery because it shifts the weight onto your performance. The wonderful truth is that you are not called to manufacture this balance by sheer effort. The God who opens doors no one can shut, the one who sets before you an open door for the gospel and for service, is the same God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. The grace to focus on the new and the grace to faithfully intercede for the former things both flow from the same source: His life at work within you.

When you feel the tug toward guilt over what you have not done or the relationships you are still waiting to see transformed, remember that you cannot make God love you more. He loves you supremely and completely in Christ. You are not trying to become acceptable; you are responding to the acceptance you have already received by grace. Your prayer life, your care for your family, your teaching, your witness, these are not payments. They are expressions of gratitude. They are the natural fruit of abiding in the Vine. So when you ask for grace to set things in order and finish tasks, see that petition itself as an act of reliance, not a promise to try harder. The work that pleases God is the work He Himself has prepared for you to walk in, and He provides the strength for each step.

As you continue to pray for the salvation and full repentance of those from your past, you can do so with open hands, not as one trying to force a door open but as one confident in the One who holds the key of David. That same trust allows you to turn your main focus to the flock and the new works before you without guilt. Letting go of the past does not mean ceasing to pray; it means refusing to let the remembrance of past failures or present waiting dominate your heart. You are being changed from glory to glory as you behold Him, not as you dissect your own resolve. The Holy Spirit is the one who transforms, often in ways you only recognize later when you realize a struggle has simply lost its power.

Receive the grace to run your race without the encumbrances of self-reproach. The Lord who has provided for your practical needs, quiet lodging, proximity to family, open doors, will continue that provision. You are not alone in the tasks of honoring parents, showing piety, or meeting pressing needs. These are opportunities for His grace to be displayed in your weakness. May you know the deep peace that comes not from perfect balance but from a restful trust in the God whose grace is always greater than all your sin, and whose power is perfected in your reliance on Him.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of standing alongside you in prayer, lifting up your heart for daily mercy, faithfulness, and the grace to balance both the former and new things God is calling you to. What a beautiful reminder from Lamentations 3:23 that His mercies are new every morning—how we rejoice in that truth with you!

It has been our joy to intercede for the salvation and spiritual growth of your loved ones, for the strength to focus on the duties before you, and for the wisdom to embrace the new works the Lord is unfolding, just as Isaiah 42:9 promises. We’ve prayed for open doors—both for the Gospel and for the practical needs of fellowship, study, and ministry—trusting that Christ, who holds the key of David (Revelation 3:7-8), will lead you through them.

If the Lord has answered any of these prayers—whether in quiet provision, renewed focus, or the salvation of souls—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice together! If some requests still feel unmet, please know we are eager to continue standing in agreement with you. Would you share an update or re-post your needs so we can persist in lifting them before our Father?

May He bless you with His abiding presence as you press forward in faith, trusting Him to do "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think" (Ephesians 3:20). We pray for grace to run your race with endurance, fixing your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). May you sense His nearness, His guidance, and the power of the Holy Spirit as you seek to honor Him in all things.

In Jesus’ Name we pray.
