Thank You for Daily Mercies and Faithfulness, Lam 3:23, For Salvation, Edification of Former Things, Rom 10:1, Rom 11:1, 2 Tim 3:15, Focus on God, Ourselves, Our Teaching, 1 Tim 4:16, Grace for Duties, Tit 3:14, and Especially Grace to Shift Main Focus to New Things Isa 42:9, Care for The Flock Among Us, Acts 20:1, Grace to Do Both Ecc 7:18, Open Doors Gospel, Rev 3:7-8...

Our Father in Heaven, Thank You for meeting all our needs up until present and continuing to do the same, surely Your Merciful Devotion to Your People is daily and Your Great Faithfulness an ever-present certainty amidst an ever changing life and world, Lam 3:23. Firstly, our prayer and private devotion and study even need those mercies, the ability to care for ourselves, our teaching and those You have in a way put under our care requires Your Spirit's inspiration, 1 Tim 4:16, Grace to Pray for Former and Present Relationships' Salvation and enrichment, Rom 10:1, Yet Abundant Grace Focus New Things Isa 42:9, even to be on guard for ourselves and the flock of God Your placed under our charge, Acts 20:28-31.

We ask abundant mercy and grace to Do Both Ecc 7:18, Open the Heavens for Prayer and Study, Open Doors for Evangelism, Fellowship and Counseling Rev 3:7-8... So thank You for what has been accomplished this far, 1 Sam 7:12, for time in worship, prayer and listening to the Word, souls, seeds, travel, transportation, finances, lodging and all the prayers You've answered and more, Eph 3:20. Thank You especially for the quiet, inexpensive, accommodating boarding, Acts 28:30-31, close to my aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures, and ask You give them assistance in practical and spiritual matters and allow me to further Your work in their lives along the same line, even with some godly company showing piety at home, 1 Tim 5:4, giving honor to whom honor is due, Rom 13:7, Eph 6:2-3.

We ask for grace to take hold of one thing without letting go of the other, Ecclesiastes 7:18, to continue to intercede for my distant matrimonial's full, authentic repentance to life and full trust in Christ and be regenerated, and the prodigy to be saved early, Rom 10:1, and protected and directed into the love and character of Jesus Christ, nourished on Your Word), 2 Tim 3:15, Yet ability to PRIMARILY FOCUS on THE NEW, Isa 42:9, Isa 43:19, Isa 48:6.

So we ask You open a door for Heaven, Nearness, and doors to express the overflow of the Holy Spirit to Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings and for the lost to hear the Gospel, kindly work while we keep still, Exodus 14:14, and empower us to glorify You, to image God, which were it possible, we would not ask and trust You for it. I ask for grace to set all things in order, Tit 1:5, strengthen and finish each task, Rev 3:2, and meet every pressing need, Tit 3:14.

Help our running to be in a way that we might win, 1 Cor 9:24, forgetting what lies behind and pressing toward the upward call, Phil 3:13-14, laying aside encumbrances and diversions that distract us from the primary task of Your call and commission to abide in Your Word and make disciples by propagating all You've commanded, that we might run the race that is personally set out before each of us, Heb 12:1-2... Thank You for the Your love and leadership, the fellowship of abiding in Christ and guidance of The Holy Spirit, John 10:3-4, Rom 8:14, grace to intercede for and forget the past AND for grace to navigate going forward, James 1:5, new evangelism, encouragement, discipleship, fellowship with The Body and Bride of Christ, and formal study, Ecclesiastes 7:18. We ask for protection from temptation, Luke 11:4, sin, Zeph 3:13, evil, Matt 6:13, evil people, 2 Thes 3:2, and the evil one, John 17:15. Thank You in Jesus' Name...

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the mercies and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father, which are new every morning, just as Lamentations 3:23 declares. Your Word reminds us that Your compassions never fail, and for this, we are eternally thankful. We lift up this prayer with a spirit of humility and dependence, acknowledging that apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

First, we rejoice in your recognition of God’s daily provision and faithfulness. It is a beautiful thing to stand on the promises of God, knowing that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6). We are encouraged by your desire to focus on both the former things, such as the salvation and edification of loved ones, and the new things God is doing, as Isaiah 42:9 and 43:19 proclaim. This balance is wise, for Ecclesiastes 7:18 reminds us, "It is good that you should take hold of this. Yes, also from that don’t withdraw your hand; for he who fears God will come out of them all." We pray that the Lord grants you the grace to hold fast to intercession for those you love while embracing the new works He is unfolding before you.

We are mindful of your burden for the salvation of your former matrimonial and your prodigy. Romans 10:1 is a powerful reminder of the heart of God for the lost: "Brothers, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved." We join you in praying for their full repentance, regeneration, and trust in Christ. May the Lord soften their hearts, open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and draw them into a saving relationship with Jesus. We also pray for your prodigy, that they would be shielded from the snares of this world and nurtured in the Word, as 2 Timothy 3:15 instructs, so they may grow in wisdom and the fear of the Lord.

Yet, we must also address the matter of your former matrimonial relationship with biblical clarity. Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship ended in divorce, we encourage you to seek God’s healing and wisdom for the path forward. If there is any possibility of reconciliation that honors God and aligns with His Word, we pray for His guidance. However, if the marriage has been dissolved, we trust that God will redeem the pain and use it for His glory, as Romans 8:28 assures us. We also urge you to guard your heart against any emotional or spiritual entanglements that do not align with God’s design for marriage and purity (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).

We are deeply encouraged by your desire to focus on the new things God is doing, as Isaiah 43:19 declares: "Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now! Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." We pray that the Lord opens doors for you to walk in the fullness of His calling, whether in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, or formal study. May He grant you the grace to set things in order, as Titus 1:5 instructs, and to finish the tasks He has set before you with strength and perseverance (Revelation 3:2). We ask that He provides for every pressing need, as Titus 3:14 exhorts, so that you may not be unfruitful in the work of the Lord.

We also lift up your aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures, asking the Lord to grant them strength, wisdom, and spiritual vitality. May He use you to minister to them in both practical and spiritual ways, honoring them as Scripture commands (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2-3). We pray that godly company would surround them, encouraging them in their faith and walk with the Lord.

As you seek to run the race set before you (1 Corinthians 9:24, Hebrews 12:1-2), we pray that the Lord would help you forget what lies behind and press forward toward the upward call of Christ. May He deliver you from every encumbrance and distraction that would hinder your obedience to His commission to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). We ask that He protects you from temptation (Luke 11:4), sin (Zephaniah 3:13), evil (Matthew 6:13), and the schemes of the evil one (John 17:15). May you abide in Christ, walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, and bearing much fruit for His glory (John 15:4-5).

We close this prayer with gratitude for the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting that He who is faithful will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

Heavenly Father, we ask You to pour out Your grace upon this dear brother or sister, equipping them for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). May they walk in the fullness of Your Spirit, bearing the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Open doors for them to share the Gospel, disciple believers, and encourage the Body of Christ. May their life be a living testimony of Your faithfulness, and may they bring glory to Your name in all they do. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We hear in your words a deeply faithful heart, honestly held between two real and weighty things. There is no contradiction in feeling the pull to keep praying for those you once held close, even as you also sense God doing something new. You do not have to treat that tension as failure; it can simply be the shape of love and hope stretched across time.

What you have asked for most urgently is grace to "do both", to hold the one without letting go of the other, and especially grace to shift your primary focus onto the new. That is a wise and mature ask. It does not require you to stop caring or interceding. It simply invites you to trust that the same mercy that has carried you daily (and still does) can also carry the people you have committed to prayer. You can leave them in His hands while your own hands stay free for what He has set before you now.

One small, grounded step that sometimes helps: in your next quiet time, take a piece of paper and write down the names you keep lifting up from the past. Place that paper somewhere you will not see it all day, perhaps tucked into a book or a drawer, and tell the Lord aloud, "I trust them to You. Now help me turn my face toward what You are already doing." It is not a ritual to force forgetting, only a physical, honest gesture that helps your soul lean forward into the new duties, the new studies, the flock beside you, and the care of those aging patriarchs and matriarchs you mentioned.

And we do ask for your quiet boarding, your travel, your open doors, and yes, for the souls you still long to see walking in full light. But today we especially ask for that shift.

Jesus, thank You that Your faithfulness has never failed this person and will not fail the ones left in Your care. Grant the kind of trust that frees the heart to focus on what You are bringing into view right now: the new things, the present flock, the open doors, the simple, steady duties that glorify You. Hold the distant ones securely, and give peace to this praying heart as it turns toward home. In Your name alone, amen.

The Lord has put a new song in your mouth, even praise unto our God, and many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. This is the rich and rare thing He is working in you, a freshness that does not stale, a river ever widening as you turn each corner. Yet I perceive you are in that place where the old shields and spears have been taken from the enemy, and you are wondering how to hang them in the house of David for the new battles ahead. The very weapons that once were turned against you, the ache for a distant soul, the groaning over prodigal seed, these are now trophies of grace to be used again, not discarded.

You cry, “How can I hold the one without letting go of the other?” and Solomon’s wisdom is your guide. But see here, does a man who hangs a trophy on the wall let it go? No, he fixes it there as a monument, and then his hands are free for the sword of present duty. Your intercessions are not forgotten; they are finished in the sense of a completed offering, laid up before the throne. The very Spirit helps your infirmities in that groaning. Lay the old burden down as a memorial of what God has already conquered in your own soul, for remember, the blasphemer on the village green became the shield of John Bunyan’s trophy, and you will find your heart strangely lightened to sing the new song that matches the new creation He is springing forth around you.

Is not Christ the Maker of all things new? The former things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And what is wanted is not that you fret and tease yourself into making it new, but that you let the One who sits upon the throne do it. The new thing springs forth from His own hand, even as the earth brought forth grass. Your duty for the flock, your study, your care for the aging patriarch and matriarch, these are the new leaves of a book written fresh by the finger of God, and you must not soil them by nervously thumbing back to the old, smeared pages of self-wrought anxiety. The Free Grace of God would be insulted by being put up for auction. He gives the gift, not for your exertion, but for your emptiness.

Cast yourself, then, upon this: He has inclined His ear and heard your cry. The open door He sets before you leads into a new corridor of service, Bible studies, prayer meetings, the gospel ringing out to the lost. Go through it with a bold and single eye. The good things you have asked for your kin are not abandoned; they are bound up in the bundle of life with the Lord. But your primary gaze must drink in the new thing, the spring of Grace where His blessed face beams warmth and dissolves the long frost. The crown for which you strive is ahead; press toward the mark. Let the old prayer be the silent, settled assurance of your peace, and let the new work be the loud, echoing song of your hands and feet. Grace for grace. This is the new time upon the score, sing it.
