Thank You for Daily Mercies and Faithfulness, Lam 3:23, For Salvation, Edification of Former Things, Rom 10:1, 2 Tim 3:15, Focus on God, Ourselves, Our Teaching, 1 Tim 4:16, Grace for Duties, Tit 3:14, and Especially Grace to Shift Main Focus to New Things Isa 42:9, Care for The Flock Among Us, Acts 20:1, Grace to Do Both Ecc 7:18, Open Doors Gospel, Rev 3:7-8...

Our Father in Heaven, Thank You for meeting all our needs up until present and continuing to do the same, surely Your Merciful Devotion to Your People is daily and Your Great Faithfulness an ever-present certainty amidst an ever changing life and world, Lam 3:23. Firstly, our prayer and private devotion and study even need those mercies, the ability to care for ourselves, our teaching and those You have in a way put under our care requires Your Spirit's inspiration, 1 Tim 4:16, Grace to Pray for Former and Present Relationships' Salvation and enrichment, Rom 10:1, Yet Abundant Grace Focus New Things Isa 42:9, even to be on guard for ourselves and the flock of God Your placed under our charge, Acts 20:28-31.

We ask abundant mercy and grace to Do Both Ecc 7:18, Open the Heavens for Prayer and Study, Open Doors for Evangelism, Fellowship and Counseling Rev 3:7-8... So thank You for what has been accomplished this far, 1 Sam 7:12, for time in worship, prayer and listening to the Word, souls, seeds, travel, transportation, finances, lodging and all the prayers You've answered and more, Eph 3:20. Thank You especially for the quiet, inexpensive, accommodating boarding, Acts 28:30-31, close to my aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures, and ask You give them assistance in practical and spiritual matters and allow me to further Your work in their lives along the same line, even with some godly company showing piety at home, 1 Tim 5:4, giving honor to whom honor is due, Rom 13:7, Eph 6:2-3.

We ask for grace to take hold of one thing without letting go of the other, Ecclesiastes 7:18, to continue to intercede for my distant matrimonial's full, authentic repentance to life and full trust in Christ and be regenerated, and the prodigy to be saved early, Rom 10:1, and protected and directed into the love and character of Jesus Christ, nourished on Your Word), 2 Tim 3:15, Yet ability to PRIMARILY FOCUS on THE NEW, Isa 42:9, Isa 43:19, Isa 48:6.

So we ask You open a door for Heaven, Nearness, and doors to express the overflow of the Holy Spirit to Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings and for the lost to hear the Gospel, kindly work while we keep still, Exodus 14:14, and empower us to glorify You, to image God, which were it possible, we would not ask and trust You for it. I ask for grace to set all things in order, Tit 1:5, strengthen and finish each task, Rev 3:2, and meet every pressing need, Tit 3:14.

Help our running to be in a way that we might win, 1 Cor 9:24, forgetting what lies behind and pressing toward the upward call, Phil 3:13-14, laying aside encumbrances and diversions that distract us from the primary task of Your call and commission to abide in Your Word and make disciples by propagating all You've commanded, that we might run the race that is personally set out before each of us, Heb 12:1-2... Thank You for the Your love and leadership, the fellowship of abiding in Christ and guidance of The Holy Spirit, John 10:3-4, Rom 8:14, grace to intercede for the past AND for new evangelism, encouragement, discipleship, fellowship with The Body and Bride of Christ, and formal study, Ecclesiastes 7:18. We ask for protection from temptation, Luke 11:4, sin, Zeph 3:13, evil, Matt 6:13, evil people, 2 Thes 3:2, and the evil one, John 17:15. Thank You in Jesus' Name...

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for your acknowledgment of God’s daily mercy and faithfulness, as declared in Lamentations 3:23. It is a profound truth that His compassions never fail, they are new every morning. We rejoice with you in the ways He has provided for your needs, from lodging to spiritual nourishment, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek to honor Him in both the old and the new.

We lift up your request for grace to balance the weight of past concerns, particularly the salvation and spiritual growth of those from your former matrimonial relationship, while fully embracing the new things God is doing, as Isaiah 42:9 and 43:19 promise. This is no small task, for the enemy would love to keep us tethered to what was, distracting us from the fresh work of the Spirit. But we serve a God who makes all things new, and we declare that His grace is sufficient for you to hold fast to intercession for the lost while stepping boldly into the purposes He has prepared for you today.

We rebuke any spirit of stagnation or fear that would whisper you must choose between the old and the new. Ecclesiastes 7:18 reminds us that wisdom is found in grasping one thing without letting go of another. So we pray that the Lord would give you supernatural strength to intercede for your former spouse’s repentance and your child’s salvation, even as He opens doors for evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship in new seasons. May your prayers be fervent, your faith unwavering, and your heart aligned with God’s desire that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9).

Yet we must address a matter of biblical clarity: your reference to a "former matrimonial" relationship implies a divorce, and Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant before God (Matthew 19:6). If this divorce was not on biblical grounds, such as adultery (Matthew 19:9) or abandonment by an unbelieving spouse (1 Corinthians 7:15), we urge you to seek the Lord’s heart for repentance and restoration where possible. If reconciliation is not feasible, we pray for healing and wisdom to navigate this brokenness in a way that honors God’s design for marriage. For your child, we declare Psalm 112:2 over them: "Their offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed." May they come to know Christ early and walk in His ways.

We also lift up your aging parents, asking the Lord to grant you grace to honor them as 1 Timothy 5:4 and Ephesians 6:2-3 command. May their latter days be marked by peace, spiritual vitality, and the joy of seeing your faithfulness to them and to God. Let your care for them be a testimony to the watching world of Christ’s love in action.

For the new things God is doing, we pray that He would open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:7-8) for the Gospel to advance through you. May your home be a place of hospitality and truth, as Paul’s was in Acts 28:30-31, where the Word of God was proclaimed without hindrance. We ask the Lord to raise up godly company around you, fellow believers who will sharpen you (Proverbs 27:17) and labor alongside you in prayer and ministry. May your study of the Word be deep, your prayers fervent, and your evangelism bold, all for the glory of Christ.

We rebuke every distraction, every temptation to look back with longing or bitterness, and every lie that would tell you God’s best is behind you. Philippians 3:13-14 is our battle cry: "Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." The race set before you is not a sprint but a marathon, and we pray for endurance, joy, and a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit to run it well.

Father, we ask that You would set all things in order in this dear one’s life, as Titus 1:5 commands. Strengthen them to finish every task You’ve assigned, meet every need with Your provision (Titus 3:14), and run in such a way as to win the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24). Guard their heart from sin (Zephaniah 3:13), deliver them from evil (Matthew 6:13), and protect them from the schemes of the evil one (John 17:15). May they abide in Christ, hear His voice clearly (John 10:3-4), and be led by Your Spirit in every decision (Romans 8:14).

We declare over you that the same God who has been faithful in the past will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). May your focus shift from what was to what is and what is to come, all for His glory. And may the doors He opens for the Gospel be wide, the harvest plentiful, and the laborers few no more.

We hear the full heart behind this prayer, the gratitude for daily mercies, the deep longing for the salvation of those you once walked closely with, and the desire to press into the new things God is doing without letting go of what matters. It’s a holy tension, and we’re with you in it.

One step that often helps when the past and present feel like they’re pulling in different directions is to give each one a distinct, bounded time with the Lord. You might set a short, deliberate window each day, just a few minutes, to lift up that former matrimonial and the prodigy, entrusting them afresh to God’s mercy. Then, as you close that time, physically or mentally “place” them into His hands and turn toward the duties, the flock, and the open doors before you. That small rhythm can free your mind from the weight of constant intercession without diminishing your love or prayers.

Ecclesiastes 7:18 speaks of holding one thing without letting go of the other, and there’s wisdom in not forcing a choice. God does not stand over us demanding that we erase the past to step into the new. He simply calls us to walk forward, confident that He is at work in what lies behind and what lies ahead. You are already seeing His provision, the quiet boarding, the nearness to aging loved ones, the desire to honor them. That is no small thing. The same faithfulness that has carried you this far will supply the grace to finish the tasks in front of you and to nurture the seeds already planted in lives you cannot control.

We join you in asking for that grace, and for protection as you press on.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your daily mercies and for every prayer You have already answered. Grant our friend a steady, peaceful heart that can intercede for the distant ones without being tethered to anxiety. Fill them with the Holy Spirit’s wisdom to care for themselves, their teaching, and the flock among them. Open new doors for the gospel and strengthen every good work. Guard them from evil and from distraction, and let them run the race set before them with joy. In Your strong name, we pray. Amen.

The mercies of God are new every morning, great is His faithfulness. That He has brought you thus far is proof that His compassions fail not. Yet you do well to remember that the Christian’s path is not a stroll through a meadow but a pilgrimage through a world of snares, and the sweetest mercies are those that keep us on our feet. Grace is the soul of all, and without it we do nothing. You ask for grace to do both, to intercede for former things and yet press toward the new. That is a wise petition, for the man who fears God will come forth from them all. Only see to it that you do not so grip the past that your hands cannot receive what God now sets before you. The old is passed away; behold, all things are become new. Christ stands at the door of the future with keys in His hand, and what He opens none can shut.

Your duty is plain: pray for souls, labor for the flock among you, and watch yourselves. Yet you must not measure your usefulness by visible results, nor suppose that your prayers are in vain because you cannot trace the answer. The Spirit intercedes with groanings that cannot be uttered, and God’s timing is not ours. Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Let the remembrance of His past deliverances be a spur to present trust. As for those distant souls, let your request be made known unto God, and then do the work that lies nearest. You are not called to force a door but to step through the one He opens. The gospel must be preached, and souls must be won, but all is of grace, from the first desire to the finished salvation. Let no legal thought steal away your peace. You cannot create a new heart in yourself, much less in another. But Christ is able to make all things new, and His grace is sufficient.

Beware that you do not so strain after the new that you neglect tenderness to the aging or the claim of honor to whom honor is due. It is a joyful thing when piety begins at home. Yet if you would run well, you must lay aside every weight. He who fixes his eyes on the waves will sink; but looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, you shall walk on the waters. Come then, simply, for He says, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” That rest is not idleness but the quiet energy of a soul leaning on omnipotence. So go on, praying always, watching unto prayer, and leaving your yesterday and your tomorrow in the pierced hands. The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

How great is the mercy of God that He lets us see each day not as a repetition of the old, but as a stage for His new works while the foundation of His faithfulness never shakes beneath our feet. The very breath you used to pray is proof of that daily mercy. Yet take care, for the enemy will gladly turn even our prayers for past things into a chain that keeps us looking backward when God has swung open a door before us. The mind that is always rehearsing the salvation of those far off can quickly become distracted from the flock standing at its elbow, and the Scripture does not command us to do one at the expense of the other, but to lay hold of both with the grip of a man who knows time is short and the Master's return is near.

Grace is not a gentle sentiment. Grace is the dynamite of heaven that demolishes the old building to its foundations and raises a new creation where none seemed possible. The soul grown old with the oldness of sin is not mended or propped up; it is made wholly new by the renewing of the Holy Ghost. That is the rule of life you now walk in. Why then do you keep your eyes so fixed on the ruin that once was, as if God could not be trusted with it? He who called you out of darkness is able to call others also. Intercede for them, yes, but do it with the brevity of faith, not the long-windedness of anxiety, and then turn your full strength to the new things springing up around you like a river in the desert. The prophet did not say, sit by the old cistern and weep for the departed waters. He said, behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it?

Set your house in order, for a disorderly life will drown out even the most fervent prayers. Finish the tasks that lie undone before you. Run the race that is set before you, and do not let the shadows of the past, whether grief or affection or long-drawn hope, clip your heels. The runner who keeps turning to measure the distance he has covered will never seize the prize ahead. You have asked for grace to glorify God. That grace rarely comes as a sudden rapture. It comes in the quiet discipline of caring for your own teaching and your own soul first, in the plodding duty of honoring the aged patriarchs beside you with a piety that shows itself at home, and in the daily opening of the doors of your conscience to the Judge who sits in your heart. Do that, and the fragrance of Christ will overflow to Bible studies and prayer meetings and the lost without your needing to manufacture it.

The power is of God and not of us to prevent you from puffing up, but it is of God to be displayed through you. The circumstance that presses you down, the quiet boarding or the care for your elders, is not a parenthesis in your ministry. It is the very field where you are to lay hold of the one thing without letting go of the other. Do not despise the smallness of that field. He who raised the ruler's daughter did not wait for a more convenient crowd. He went, and the deed overtook the words. Lay your hand to what is immediate, and leave the former things folded in the hand of Him who alone can write truth not on tablets of stone but on the fleshy tables of the heart.

Run. And as you run, keep the mouth of your prayers for distant souls short and full of trust. Cast them upon the altar and let the fire fall. Then rise and go about the new work with the confidence that the same God who numbers the hairs of your head will not lose a single soul for want of His faithful kindness.

You are standing on solid ground when you anchor your heart in the daily mercies and faithfulness of God. Those compassions are indeed new every morning, and in a life that shifts like sand, His steadfast love is the one certainty that never fades. That you begin by thanking Him for this, and for all He has supplied, provision, shelter, nearness to family, open doors for the gospel, is itself evidence of His grace already at work in you. Never despise the quiet, inexpensive moments or the small acts of honor shown to aging parents and grandparents; these are the very places where genuine piety is practiced and the seed of the Word takes deep root.

The longing you carry for the full salvation and genuine repentance of those from your former life is not wrong. Paul prayed for his own kinsmen with unceasing anguish, desiring their salvation above all, and that same heart is yours. But grace never holds us in one place. The very grace that allows you to intercede for them is the same grace that is now pointing you to the new things God is doing. Do not receive that grace in vain by letting your eyes linger so long on the former things that you miss the work He is opening right before you. The One who makes a road in the wilderness and streams in the desert is speaking fresh words even now. It is not a betrayal to look ahead; it is obedience.

The tension you feel, to hold on to one without letting go of the other, is a genuine human struggle, but the peace you need will not come by trying to balance them in your own strength. Peace follows grace, never the other way around. When you truly soak in the gift of Christ, the measure of grace given to you, you will find a strange rest that empowers you to pray for the distant ones while pouring your main energies into the people God has currently placed under your care. The flock right here, right now, must remain your primary watch. Care for yourself, for your teaching, and for those entrusted to you. That is not selfishness; it is the command to take heed to the ministry you have been given, and in doing so you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Think about your own calling. It did not come from a board or a piece of paper. The Lord alone sets apart and empowers, and He has commissioned you as a worker together with Him. The proof of that ministry is not in letters of commendation or even in visible results you can measure. The true confirmation will be written by the Spirit on the hearts of those you serve, their faith, their growth, their own walk with the Lord. So look at the doors He is setting before you now. He who opens and no one shuts knows exactly which doors lead to genuine fellowship, to fresh Bible study, to the lost hearing the gospel. Walk through them in the quiet confidence that He is fighting for you while you simply keep still and take the next step.

It is a beautiful exchange: the old self, crucified with Christ, gives way to a new creation where Christ is the center. You are not bound to live out of the past. Set in order what remains, finish the tasks at hand, and meet the pressing needs before you, knowing that the very life you now live, you live by faith in the Son of God who loved you and gave Himself for you. Lay aside every weight that would divert you from the race marked out as uniquely yours. The sorrows may linger, but you can be genuinely rejoicing; you may feel poor, yet you make many rich because you possess Christ.

So receive this grace fully. Let your heart be enlarged, not cramped by guilt or fear. As you focus on the new things, you can trust that the same Spirit who convicts and draws sinners is at work in the lives you have poured out to in the past. You have sown; He will bring the increase in His time. For now, your running is to be in such a way that you may win. Forget what lies behind and press toward the upward call, fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, and may that peace guard your heart as you step into all that He has prepared.
