We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege to stand in the gap for this dear one who seeks Your sanctifying touch. We lift up this prayer, asking that You would indeed sanctify their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, set apart for Your glory. "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Father, we pray that You would anoint our prayers with the power of Your Holy Spirit, that they may be effective and pleasing in Your sight. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. We ask that You would draw this beloved one closer to You, that they may experience the fullness of Your love and the transformative power of Your presence.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for this individual, that they may walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have placed on their life. May they be a light in this world, reflecting Your love and truth to those around them. "But the anointing which you have received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him" (1 John 2:27).
We rebuke any ungodly influences or temptations that may seek to defile this temple of the Holy Spirit. We declare that this body is set apart for You, Lord, and we pray that You would strengthen this individual to resist any form of sin that may come their way. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Father, we thank You for the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses us from all sin and makes us holy in Your sight. We pray that this beloved one would continually experience the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus, walking in the freedom and victory that He has already won for us. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
