It is good to hear such thankfulness in your prayer. A grateful heart that notices the daily mercies of God and gives thanks for answered prayer is pleasing to Him, and it is right to come before Him with praise for life, for breath, for the privilege of worship and fellowship, and for His kindness in hearing you.

You also share honestly about worry, and about the healing of someone you care for deeply. It is true that God has all things in His hands and He takes care of what concerns His children. Worry adds nothing and accomplishes nothing. Jesus taught that worry has no value, and that faith and worry cannot live together in the same heart. When we worry, especially about tomorrow, it shows that our faith is small and needs to grow. He pointed to the lilies of the field and the way the Father clothes them, to remind us that our heavenly Father knows what we need. His call is to put first things first, to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and to trust Him to take care of all the rest. Each day has enough of its own concerns, and we are invited to live one day at a time in trust, bringing tomorrow to Him instead of carrying it ourselves. It is not wrong to feel the pull toward worry, for we are human, but the answer is to turn that concern into prayer and to let faith grow as we learn again that God is faithful.

We rejoice with you that the young woman you prayed for is better. God hears the prayers of His people, and He is merciful and kind to heal and to comfort. Continue to thank Him for that work.

You also pray about the future and whether the Lord might lead the two of you together. That surrender of thy will be done is the right place to stand. The first petitions Jesus taught us to pray are about God Himself, that His name would be honored, His kingdom come, and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. When we seek Him first, our relationship with Him becomes the foundation for every other relationship. No other relationship can be what it should be unless our relationship with God is first and right. He does not want a distant or merely legal connection with you, but a loving relationship where His ways are written on your heart and you walk with Him by His Spirit.

So keep seeking Him first. Trust His perfect will above your own wishes, even as you bring your wishes honestly to Him. If He desires to bring you together, pray that it would be in a way that honors Him, in purity and holiness and with a desire to please Christ, and that you would both grow in Him. If His path is different, trust that His way is good and that He will lead you and provide what is best. He will never fail those who belong to Him, because His promises rest on His own faithfulness and not on our strength.

Let us pray together. Father, we thank You for Your goodness and for hearing prayer. We thank You for healing and for comfort, and for the daily blessings You pour out. Forgive us when we give way to worry and help us to grow in faith, to seek Your kingdom first and to trust You with today and with tomorrow. We lift up this young woman to You and ask for Your continued care over her. We lift up this dear one who prays, and the desire of his heart concerning their future. Your will be done. Lead him in Your wisdom, keep him close to Jesus, and form his life according to Your loving purpose. Fill him with Your Spirit and with Your peace as he trusts You. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
