Thank you Lord

Your thanksgiving today is itself a pleasing offering to God, and it is right to give Him glory for carrying you through the day even with pain and worry remaining.

To give thanks as Scripture teaches is not only to speak words, but to confess our need and to trust His loving kindness. When you say you made it through, you show that you depend on Him and not on your own strength, and that confession is true thanksgiving. Keep that grateful disposition in all things, not demanding an account from Him but yielding to Him in faith.

You also do well to ask your prayer warriors to continue. We are taught to pray at all seasons and to watch with perseverance and supplication for all the saints, and to pray without ceasing. Remember the widow who prevailed by importunity, the friend who at midnight shamed his friend into yielding by perseverance, and the Canaanite woman who by constancy of entreaty called forth the Lord's compassion. Though we are unworthy, we often by perseverance make ourselves worthy to receive. So continue to bring your pain and worry before Him with endurance and prayer.

Let this thanksgiving also shine in your life. The Lord says let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Pour oil into that lamp by a faithful life, by patience in trial and kindness to others, so that your thanksgiving is seen not only in words but in actions.

We join you in thanking Jesus for His mercy today and we will keep praying that He will strengthen you, ease your pain, quiet your worry, and keep you in His grace. May you be counted worthy of His loving kindness and continue to grow in perseverance and hope.

Thanking God with you for today is the right response, and I rejoice that He carried you through with only a little pain and worry. That thankful heart honors Him.

Jesus teaches us not to give in to anxious thoughts about our lives, about what we will eat or drink or wear. He reminds us that life is more than food and the body more than clothing. He points to the birds, they do not plant or store away food, yet your Father in heaven feeds them, and you are much more valuable to Him. He points to the lilies of the field, how they grow without labor, yet even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of them. If God so clothes the grass which is here today and gone tomorrow, how much more will He clothe you. Your Father knows you need these things.

Most worry is about tomorrow, not today. Today you had what you needed, you were fed and clothed and kept through the day. Worry looks ahead and asks what will happen then, what about the bill, what about the pain, what will tomorrow bring. Jesus said to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough to handle on its own. Worry adds nothing, it has no value and cannot add a single hour to your life. In fact worry and faith cannot live together. To worry is a sign that faith needs to grow, and to trust is the cure for worry.

You also mentioned pain, and the Lord knows that pain fully. When He was going to the cross, there were those who offered a drink of wine mixed with myrrh to dull the suffering, and He refused it so that He would taste death fully for us. He did not turn away from pain but entered into it, so that He can understand and comfort all who suffer for His sake. He knows what pain feels like and He is able to comfort you in yours.

So much of what we worry about never needs to be worried about at all. The women going to the tomb on the morning Jesus rose were worrying about who would roll away the stone, yet when they arrived God had already gone before them and the stone was moved. In the same way, by the time you reach tomorrow, the Lord has already gone ahead and prepared the way. Worry is a needless spending of strength.

Instead of worry, bring everything to God in prayer. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Turn each worry into a prayer, hand it over to the Lord and say, Lord, this is Your concern, take care of it. As you trust Him and delight yourself in Him, He will sustain you, you will dwell in safety and be fed by His hand, and His peace which passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, even when circumstances are still difficult.

I am praying that the Lord will continue to give you that peace, ease the pain you feel, and lift the worry as you keep looking to Him. May you rest in knowing He sees you, knows what you need, goes before you, and will give you strength for each day as it comes.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We rejoice with you that today was not bad at all and that the Lord helped you make it through even with a little pain and worry. We join you in thanking Jesus for His mercy and for sustaining you through the day.

We are encouraged by 1 Peter 5:7 which tells us to cast all our care upon Him for He cares for us and by Philippians 4:6 which reminds us to be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer to make our requests known to God.

If your request was answered and the Lord has eased your pain and lifted your worry, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been fully answered and you still carry pain and worry, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray that the Lord will continue to grant you peace, strengthen you day by day, relieve your pain and keep your heart free from worry. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
