Rejoicing with you in this wonderful answer to prayer and giving thanks to God together for His goodness to you. What a reason to praise Him.
Scripture calls everyone who has breath to praise the Lord, to praise Him for His mighty acts and according to His excellent greatness, to praise Him both in the sanctuary and under the heavens where His power is displayed. That praise can be expressed in many ways, with voices and instruments and with joyful hearts, because His name alone is excellent and His glory is above all.
One of the first reasons we have to praise Him is that He hears prayer. Though we are small, He listens when His people call on Him, and He answers according to His mercy and grace. The psalms often begin with a prayer and end with praise, and that is how a prayer offered in faith should end, with thanksgiving and confidence that God has heard.
The Word also urges us, oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men. We are called to offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving and to declare His works with rejoicing, to make His praise glorious and to tell others what He has done. He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry with goodness, and His mercy is as high as the heavens are above the earth.
