We join you in gratitude for the presence of God in your life, for His faithfulness is our sure foundation. We are thankful that you have brought your request before the cross, where Christ’s sacrifice covers every need and where His blood speaks better things than any earthly judgment.

Father in Heaven, we lift up this matter concerning communication with the attorney. Lord, You are the God who opens doors no man can shut and who makes the crooked places straight. We ask that You would remove any barriers, whether of misunderstanding, delay, or confusion, that hinder clear and timely communication. Grant wisdom to both parties, that words may be seasoned with grace and truth, and that justice may be pursued with integrity. Let every conversation be guided by Your Spirit, so that what is said and heard aligns with Your will.

We also pray for peace in your heart as you wait, for the Lord says in Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." May His peace, which transcends all human logic, guard your mind and emotions during this time.

If there is any anxiety or fear attempting to take root, we rebuke it in Jesus’ name. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Christ came that you might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that you are not alone in this process; the Lord is your advocate, your defender, and your present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s guidance through His Word and prayer. Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even when the path seems unclear, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. Lord, we ask that You intervene in this situation concerning communication with the attorney. Remove every obstacle and let Your will be done in every conversation and decision. Grant wisdom, clarity, and favor. Fill [this individual] with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them sense Your presence with them every step of the way. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You completely. We rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or delay, and we declare that this matter is in Your hands. May Your glory be revealed through the outcome, and may Your name be praised. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.

Getting your own thoughts clear on paper often settles the heart and keeps the conversation focused when the time comes. Then, as you lay that list before the Lord, you can release the outcome to Him with fresh trust.

God cares about the details of this situation, and He can work in the timing, the tone, and the understanding between you and your attorney. We’ll keep praying for an open door and for the right words when you speak.

Jesus, we thank You that this dear person’s life is in Your hands, including every legal matter. We ask You now to clear the path for timely, respectful communication with the attorney. Grant wisdom, peace, and mutual clarity. Remove any barriers or delays that are not from You, and let each conversation move things forward in a just and straightforward way. In the waiting, hold their heart steady in Your care. We trust You completely. In Your name, amen.

The very essence of prevailing prayer is not the length of the petition, but the agony of the heart that thrusts it before the throne of grace. You do well to lay your request at the foot of the cross and to continue in that posture, for importunity wins the day with our gracious God. The cry, “Lord, help me,” is the most comprehensive and handy prayer ever framed by a needy soul, and it is well suited for this very trial. Make this your constant breath: that the Lord would unstop the channels of human speech and remove every barrier that hinders right dealing between you and your attorney. Wrestle with this matter, not as one who beats the air, but as one who believes that God is a ready listener and a present help in every time of trouble.

Yet remember that prayer, to be proven sincere, must often be wedded to a corresponding readiness to act. While you groan for an open line of communication, be quick to speak words of peace, to offer grace, and to do what is right in the sight of all men as far as it depends upon you. Our Master’s intercession for us is always effectual because it rises from an inmost soul of perfect love; let your pleas, then, be free from all bitterness or guile, so that when the Lord causes His face to shine upon this matter, you may walk through the door He opens with clean hands and a pure heart.

Above all, do not think this is too small a matter for the great Shepherd’s care. He who prayed for Peter by name does not refuse to take up the practical concerns of His people. The God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, is able to quiet every troubling circumstance and to make the crooked straight before you. Agonize in this request with holy boldness, and expect to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

It is a fearful thing to ask that a line of communication be opened, for the heart must be wide enough to hold what enters. Our mouth is open, our heart is enlarged, he says, and this is the mark of love: to have the other walk with unrestraint within you. You pray for an opening with your attorney. Yet consider first: is your own heart open toward him?

For the communication of your faith must become effectual in the knowledge of every good thing. Faith without works is dead. If you ask God to open another's ear, have you first opened your own hand in mercy, not for parade, but from the depths? Almsgiving is not the giving of money alone, but the giving out of mercy. Insult not your brother by putting him to open shame while asking heaven to bless the transaction.

And when you approach this petition, open the gates of your mind with great trembling, as one stepping into the court of the King. For the line of communication you seek is not merely between two mortals; God is everywhere present and hears all things. Use not filthy communication, nor any word that does not edify. Teach, advise, discourse on what is good, and you will soften his soul. Applaud wickedness, even silently, and you overturn and ruin the work.

Yet if your eyes be open to every slight and grievance, this is worse than having them closed. The dead see no evil thing, but the man who gathers diseases of the soul while wide awake is buried in the tomb of his own distempers. God opens a mouth to speak; let it not be to accuse or to lay open wounds for display, but to communicate a sorrow that is lightened when a burden is shared. Weep with them that weep, condescend to men of low estate, and you will find that by the communication of sorrow, the extreme weight is lifted. This is the effectual working of a living faith.
