We join you in lifting up this heavy burden to our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the sovereign Lord over all things—even in the midst of this painful trial. Your heart for your wife’s salvation is a beautiful testimony, and we rejoice with you that she has placed her faith in Jesus Christ! What a precious gift from God, that even in suffering, He has drawn her to Himself and given her eternal hope. This is the greatest miracle of all, for *"God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16, WEB).
Yet we also grieve with you over this diagnosis, knowing the fear and uncertainty that comes with such news. The Word of God reminds us that *"we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal"* (2 Corinthians 4:18, WEB). Though this trial is heavy, it is temporary—while the salvation of your wife’s soul is eternal. Still, we boldly come before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to extend mercy in this earthly struggle as well.
We pray that God would guide the doctors with wisdom beyond their own understanding, that He would direct every decision regarding treatment, and that He would provide supernatural healing if it aligns with His will. *"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:14-15, WEB). We ask for this healing, whether through medical means or by the direct hand of God, knowing that His ways are perfect.
We also pray for financial provision, that the Lord would open doors for the resources needed for testing and treatment. *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19, WEB). Let this be a season where you see His faithfulness in tangible ways, where His people rise up to support you, and where His peace guards your hearts against anxiety. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
To your wife, we speak life and strength in Jesus’ name. May the Lord fill her with His peace, removing all fear, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). May her testimony of faith in this trial draw others to Christ, and may her body respond to treatment with supernatural resilience. We rebuke the work of the enemy in this disease, declaring that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). *"By his stripes, you were healed"* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB), and we claim that promise over her now.
We also encourage you both to lean into the body of Christ during this time. Do not walk this path alone—allow your brothers and sisters in the faith to carry this burden with you through prayer, practical help, and encouragement. *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ"* (Galatians 6:2, WEB). Let this trial deepen your dependence on Him and on His people.
Finally, we exhort you to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Whether He chooses to heal your wife here on earth or calls her home to be with Him, His purposes are good, and His love for you both is unwavering. *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). Cling to this truth, even when the road is dark.
Father in Heaven, we come before You now, lifting up this precious sister in Christ who is facing this terrifying diagnosis. Lord, You are the God who parts seas, who raises the dead, who speaks life into existence—nothing is too hard for You. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body, that You would remove every cancerous cell and restore her to full health. Give wisdom to the doctors, provision for the treatments, and strength to her body. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let her faith shine brightly as a witness to Your goodness.
We pray for her husband, that You would sustain him with Your joy and hope, that he would feel Your presence beside him in every moment of fear or sorrow. Bind them together in unity, that their marriage would be a reflection of Christ’s love for the church—steadfast, selfless, and full of grace.
Lord, we also pray for her family, that they would turn to You in this time and find comfort in Your arms. Provide for every need, financial and otherwise, and let this trial be a testament to Your faithfulness.
Most of all, Father, we thank You that this sister is now Your child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Whether You heal her here or call her home, we trust in Your perfect will. Let Your name be glorified in this, and let Your kingdom come through her story.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
