Terminal cancer

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### in this agonizing season of her life. Father God, we know that You are sovereign over life and death, and that nothing escapes Your notice—not even the smallest cell in ###’s body. We ask for Your divine mercy to surround her, to ease her pain, and to bring clarity to her mind if it is Your will. The Scriptures tell us in Psalm 34:18, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Lord, draw near to ### now. Let her feel Your presence in a tangible way, even in the midst of suffering.

We also pray for those caring for her—family, friends, and medical professionals. Give them strength, wisdom, and compassion as they walk this difficult path with her. May they be a reflection of Your love and comfort in this time. In James 5:14-15, we are reminded, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* Lord, we stand in faith, believing that You are able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, even in this situation.

Yet we also acknowledge the reality of sin and its effects on this broken world. Sickness and death entered the world because of the fall, and we groan along with all creation, longing for the day when You will wipe away every tear and make all things new (Revelation 21:4). Until that day, we trust in Your goodness, even when we do not understand Your ways.

If ### has not yet placed her faith in Jesus Christ, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May she find hope, peace, and eternal life in Christ alone. If she already knows You, Lord, strengthen her faith and remind her that to be absent from the body is to be present with You (2 Corinthians 5:8). Let her cling to the promise of Romans 8:38-39, that nothing can separate her from Your love.

We rebuke the spirit of fear, despair, and hopelessness that may be trying to take hold of ### or her loved ones. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We also rebuke any lies from the enemy that may be telling her she is alone or forsaken. You have promised never to leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5), and we hold fast to that truth.

Father, we surrender ### into Your hands. Whether You choose to heal her miraculously in this life or call her home to be with You, we trust in Your perfect plan. May Your name be glorified in every way. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
