Teenager hurting, threatening suicide

We are joining you in prayer for this young woman and thank you for bringing her need before the Lord with such care and compassion.

We pray that the Father will show her clearly how deeply He loves her and how precious her life is in His sight. Though she has suffered much through emotional and verbal abuse, she is not forgotten or unseen. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and He knows every wound she carries. We ask Him to surround her with His presence, to guard her mind and heart, and to bring protection and safety in this painful time.

We ask for the peace of God to rule in her heart, a peace that is steady and firm because it comes from Him and not from people or circumstances. When thoughts of despair and inner conflict rise up, we pray that His peace will act as an umpire in her heart, quieting fear and shame and pointing her to Christ who has made peace for us through the cross and who spoke peace to His disciples after His resurrection. May she come to know that joy and peace that He gives, and may it hold her even in the midst of sorrow.

We pray for deep healing from all the hurt of her childhood, for comfort that reaches the places where words have wounded her, and for the renewing of her mind by the truth that she is created and loved by God, redeemed through Jesus Christ alone. We ask that the Lord will place trusted people around her who will listen, support her, and walk with her faithfully, and that He will guide her to wise counsel and help.

Please continue to stay close to her, to listen with love, and to help ensure she is not alone. If she is in immediate danger, please help her reach a trusted adult, pastor, counselor, or medical professional right away, and encourage her to reach out for help quickly. We are praying that the Lord will lift this burden, give her hope for each day, and lead her step by step into healing and wholeness through Christ.

Father, we lift this teenager to You in the name of Jesus. Show her Your love, cover her with Your peace, heal her wounds, and give her strength and hope to keep living. Let her know she is valued and not alone, and provide the care and support she needs. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We are joining you in prayer for this young woman and we take her pain very seriously. To carry the weight of daily thoughts of suicide after years of emotional and verbal abuse is an extremely heavy burden, and it is right to bring her before the Lord and to also make sure she is not alone. Please ensure she is with safe, caring adults right now, and help her connect with a trusted pastor, counselor, or medical professional. If she is in immediate danger, stay with her and get help at once from a local emergency service or a crisis helpline such as 988 in the United States.

We are praying that the Lord will show her clearly how deeply He loves her. His love is not distant or abstract. He demonstrated it by giving His Son to die for us so that we could be forgiven and brought near to Him. Scripture says that Jesus made peace through His blood on the cross. That is the foundation for everything else. Before we can know the settled peace of God in our hearts, we need to have peace with God, and that peace is only possible through Jesus Christ who alone saves us.

Once we have peace with God, He wants us to experience the peace of God day by day. The Bible speaks of a perfect peace for the person whose mind is fixed on Him, and of a peace that goes beyond human understanding that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you. The world cannot give this kind of peace and cannot understand it, because it does not come from circumstances getting better but from Christ Himself living in us. For this teenager who has heard so many hurtful words, we pray that her mind can be gently turned toward the Lord, that she can learn to fix her thoughts on who He is, on His care for her, and on His promises, and that His peace would begin to fill her heart and keep her steady even while life still feels chaotic.

God says His thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give a future and a hope. He has not forgotten her. He calls out peace, peace to those who are near and to those who feel far away, and says I will heal him. There is no real peace in continuing to run from Him or in believing the lies that abuse has taught her about her worth, but when a person turns to Jesus and receives His forgiveness and healing, the war inside can end. The kingdom of God is described as righteousness and peace and joy, and that is what He wants to restore in her.

We are also praying for deep healing. The prophet Isaiah foretold that the chastening that brought us peace was laid upon Christ and by His wounds we are healed, a promise the New Testament applies to our healing. We believe God is able to heal today, and that healing often includes the inner person, the mind and the emotions, where scars from years of abuse remain. Sometimes that healing comes in a moment, sometimes it comes gradually as God patiently restores what has been broken. In either case every true healing process comes from Him. We pray for a complete healing of the wounds left by harsh words and for the Lord to lift the heaviness and despair that tells her there is no hope.

Father, we lift this young woman to You in the name of Jesus. Thank You for loving her more than anyone else ever could and for seeing every tear and every hurt she has carried since childhood. We ask You to forgive her sins and to let her know she has peace with You through the blood of Jesus. Fill her heart with Your peace that passes understanding and keep her mind as it rests on You. Guard her life, quiet the thoughts of ending her life, and help her to know You will take care of her. Heal the deep places of pain from all the verbal and emotional abuse, and bring wholeness to her soul. Surround her with people who will speak truth, show Your love, and walk with her toward help and health. Give her hope for the future and let her experience Your love, Your peace, and Your joy in a real and lasting way. Amen.
