Teenager hurting, threatening suicide

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Need prayer for a teenager who is hurting a lot and saying she is thinking of suicide every day. Suffered a lot of emotional and verbal abuse all throughout childhood. Praying for the Lord to show her how much He loves her. She needs peace and deep healing.

We are joining with you in prayer for this precious teenager and we thank you for bringing her burden before the Lord and not keeping it to yourself. We hear how heavy this is, that she is hurting so deeply from years of emotional and verbal abuse and is now thinking of suicide every day. We want you to know we take this very seriously and we are crying out to God with you for her life, her peace and her healing. If she is in immediate danger or has a plan, we urge you to make sure she is not left alone and to help her reach a trusted parent, pastor, counselor, medical professional or crisis helpline right away, and to stay with her while she gets help. God calls us to bear one another's burdens and to protect life, and she needs caring adults around her now.

We know the wounds of ongoing abuse go very deep and the enemy wants her to believe lies that she is worthless, unloved or better off gone. We rebuke those lies in Jesus name. Her life is infinitely valuable because God Himself created her and loves her more than she can comprehend. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Psalm 139:14 says I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. The Lord sees every tear and every harsh word spoken over her, and He does not approve of that abuse. He desires to bring deep healing where those words have torn her down. John 10:10 says The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. Suicide is never the will of God, Jesus came to give her abundant life, hope and a future even when she cannot feel it right now.

We also want to gently point out that your request spoke of the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to encourage you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved and our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We need to bring this young woman to the Father in the name of Jesus, trusting in His shed blood and resurrection, and we can also share with her that Jesus loves her personally and died for her and wants to carry her pain. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

We pray together now for her. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this hurting teenager to You. Lord, You see her broken heart and the years of emotional and verbal abuse she has suffered, You know every painful memory and every lie she has been told about herself. We ask You to wrap her in Your perfect love and show her in a real and undeniable way how much You love her and value her life. Let her feel Your nearness right now, break the spirit of despair and hopelessness and silence the voice of the enemy that tells her to end her life. Fill her with Your peace that passes all understanding, comfort her crushed spirit and begin a deep work of healing in her heart and mind. Heal her wounds, Lord, and bind them up, restore what has been stolen and give her hope for the future You have planned for her. Put trusted, godly people around her who will listen without judgment, protect her, speak truth over her and help her get ongoing Christian counseling and care. Give wisdom and strength to the one who submitted this request to continue to love her well and to guide her toward help. We ask that she would come to know Jesus as her Savior and her refuge, that she would cast all her worries on Him and find abundant life in Him. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our salvation, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying without ceasing and keep showing her consistent love, reminding her that God has a purpose for her life and that her pain is not the end of her story. Help her to hear truth daily from Scripture, encourage her to talk openly with a safe adult and a godly counselor, and assure her that seeking help is a sign of strength. We are standing with you in prayer for her complete healing and for the peace of God to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Thank you for carrying this teenager to prayer and for noticing how heavy this is. To hear a young person say she thinks about suicide every day is heartbreaking, and to know that years of emotional and verbal hurt have worn down her sense of worth makes it even heavier. We are grateful she has someone like you asking God to show her she is loved.

That kind of ongoing hurt can leave a deep mark, crushing confidence and making hope feel far away, so steady, close support matters so much right now. We encourage you to keep talking with her openly and calmly about what she is expressing, listening without trying to fix it quickly, and to help make sure she is not alone. It helps to build a small circle of trusted people around her who will stay close, check in, pray, and visit, and to help connect her with a counselor, pastor, doctor or school counselor alongside prayer, not instead of it. If possible, help make her environment safer by ensuring she does not have access to means to harm herself, and reach out right away for more help if her thoughts become more specific or urgent.

Father, we lift this young woman to You and ask You to hold her close. Show her in ways she can feel that she is seen, valued and deeply loved. Bring her peace, comfort in her pain, and wise, caring people to walk with her each day. Give those supporting her wisdom and strength. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in earnest prayer for this precious young soul who is bowed down under such heavy sorrow and who speaks of thinking of suicide each day. The Lord sees her affliction and hears the cry of those who love her, and we bring her before the throne of grace asking for His keeping and healing power to be made manifest in her life.

We know what it is to have a broken heart, and Scripture tells us that the Lord heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but a wounded spirit is a deeper ill, and only the still small voice of God can confer that peace which passes all understanding. No human eloquence can do it, but Christ Himself can.

It is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not a distant hope but a present possession. As one has sung, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. That perfect peace can gleam with heavenly light even in the midnight of this world of care, even with sorrows surging round. We pray that she may be brought to know this peace, not as an idea but as the settled rest of a soul that is stayed upon Christ.

There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. With His stripes we are healed, for He took our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself at Calvary. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, pardon and healing were one. We pray that she may feel that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul, that she may know herself pardoned through the blood of Christ and therefore at peace with God, and that from that fountain there may flow the crystal stream of peace in her own conscience.

We pray also for you who intercede for her, that you may be given wisdom to bear her sorrow with Christ and to keep her safe. Love her patiently, listen to her without delay, and help her to stay under the care of trusted adults. If she is in immediate danger, stay with her and seek help at once from family, a pastor, a counselor, or medical professionals, and encourage her to reach out to a crisis helpline in your area or emergency services where you live. Let her not be left alone with these thoughts, but let her be surrounded by those who can watch over her and point her to Christ who is our life and our peace.

Let us pray together. O God of all peace, Father of mercies, look in compassion upon this wounded lamb. You know the years of emotional and verbal abuse she has suffered and the pain that now presses her to despair. Rise upon her as the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings. Show her how much You have loved her in giving Your Son to bear her sins and sorrows. Speak pardon to her heart through the blood of Jesus, and let that pardon bring healing. Keep her mind stayed on You and keep her in perfect peace. Guard her life, comfort her in her distress, and lead her by Your Spirit into the way of life. Give to those who care for her tender wisdom, faithful words, and persevering love, that they may guide her to Your truth and to help that sustains her. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace and our healer. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
