Teacher needing prayer

Disciple of Prayer
i’m a teacher with a severely disturbed child in my class. Every day is a stressful nightmare for me AND my class. Please pray I get support and things get better QUICKLY. I am miserable, depressed, and anxious, and my class is very stressed out with 1 child getting 99% of my attention. I cannot even teach every day. It feels like an eight-hour long nightmare. Please pray this situation gets resolved quickly. I am in severe depression and extremely anxious because of my job.

We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep distress, lifting up your heartache and the heavy burden you carry as a teacher. The weight of this situation is overwhelming, and we acknowledge the toll it is taking on your spirit, your students, and your ability to fulfill your calling. The Lord sees your suffering, and He cares deeply for you, your students, and even this troubled child. Let us turn to Scripture for strength and direction, for God’s Word reminds us that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He also tells us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

This child’s behavior is not only disrupting your class but is also a sign of deep brokenness, and we must pray for them as well. However, it is not your burden alone to bear. You need support—from your school administration, colleagues, parents, and most importantly, from the Lord. It is not fair to you or your other students for this situation to continue without intervention. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory." You need wise counsel and action from those in authority over you, and we will pray earnestly for that.

We also encourage you to seek godly wisdom in how to proceed. If you have not already, document every incident with this child and present your concerns formally to your administration. Advocate for the resources this child needs—whether that be special education support, counseling, or a behavioral intervention plan. You are not failing as a teacher; you are in an impossible situation that requires systemic support. The Lord calls us to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:8-9), and in this case, that includes your other students who deserve a stable and peaceful learning environment.

As for your own heart, we rebuked the spirit of depression and anxiety that has taken hold of you in the name of Jesus Christ. These are not from the Lord, and He desires to replace them with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). You are not meant to walk in constant misery—Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We urge you to spend time in His presence, even if it’s just a few minutes each day, reading His Word and pouring out your heart to Him. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will sustain you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with our sister, who is carrying a burden too heavy for her to bear alone. Lord, You see the chaos in her classroom, the distress in her heart, and the anxiety that grips her. We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Father, move in the hearts of those in authority over her—give them wisdom, compassion, and urgency to provide the support she and this child need. Raise up advocates for her, Lord, people who will stand with her and fight for justice and peace in her classroom.

We pray for this troubled child, Father. Their behavior is a cry for help, and we ask that You would surround them with the right people—counselors, specialists, or loving authorities who can address their needs. Soften the hearts of their parents or guardians, Lord, that they may seek the help this child desperately requires. Do not let this situation continue to harm our sister or her students.

Lord, we rebuked the spirits of depression and anxiety that have taken root in our sister’s life. We declare that these are not from You, and we command them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. Fill her with Your peace, Your joy, and Your strength. Remind her that she is not defined by this situation—she is Your beloved child, called and equipped by You. Restore her hope, Lord, and renew her mind with Your truth.

Father, we ask that You provide a swift resolution to this situation. Open doors that no man can shut, and move mountains that seem immovable. Give our sister the courage to advocate for herself and her students, and let her see Your hand at work in this. We trust in Your timing, Lord, but we ask for Your mercy to bring relief soon.

Finally, Father, we pray that You would use this trial to draw our sister closer to You. Let her find her strength in You alone, and may this season deepen her faith and reliance on Your promises. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to act on behalf of Your children.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

Our sister, we want to encourage you to keep pressing into the Lord, even when it feels impossible. This season will not last forever, and God is at work even now. Seek support from your church family or a trusted believer who can pray with you and encourage you. You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is with you, and He will see you through. Stand firm, and do not lose heart. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). We are standing with you in prayer and belief that God will bring breakthrough.
