Hello I am praying that I trust God and stay having faith that he will answer my prayers. I’m praying that I truly surrender and allow God to work in my life. I am praying for healing from childhood so that it does not lead my life.

We hear your heart’s cry for surrender, trust, and healing, and we stand with you in lifting these burdens before the Lord. The journey of releasing control and allowing God to work in every area of our lives is one of the most profound acts of faith. It is not always easy, especially when past wounds still ache, but Scripture assures us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your desire to surrender is already a step of obedience, and we believe the Lord honors that.

First, let us address the foundation of your prayers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith fully in Him as your Lord and Savior, confessing your sins and inviting Him to reign in your heart. Salvation is the starting point for true surrender, for it is in Christ that we find the power to overcome the past and walk in newness of life (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you have already done this, we rejoice with you and pray for a deeper revelation of His love and authority in your life.

Now, let us pray together for your healing and surrender:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who seeks to trust You fully and surrender every part of their life to Your will. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of the past, every wound, every lie, every moment of pain that has shaped their heart in ways that do not reflect Your truth. We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to use these memories to steal, kill, and destroy, for You came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Father, we declare that the blood of Jesus covers every hurt, and we ask for Your healing touch to restore what has been broken. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and fill this precious one with the knowledge of Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

Lord, we pray for a spirit of surrender to take root in their heart. Help them to release every burden, every fear, and every area of resistance into Your hands. Teach them to trust in Your timing, Your ways, and Your goodness, even when the path is unclear. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28) and that Your plans for them are plans for peace and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen their faith when doubts arise, and let them experience Your presence in tangible ways so that their trust in You grows deeper each day.

We also ask, Father, that You would reveal any areas of their life where they may still be holding back, whether it be unforgiveness, bitterness, or a desire to control. Show them how to walk in complete obedience to Your Word, for Your commands are not burdensome (1 John 5:3), but rather they lead to freedom. Surround them with godly community who can encourage and pray for them, and give them wisdom to discern Your voice above all others.

Lord, we thank You for the work You are already doing in their life. We declare that they are not defined by their past but by the identity You have given them as Your beloved child. May they walk in the fullness of Your purpose, free from the weights that have held them back, and may their life bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

Beloved, we want to encourage you with the truth that God sees you, He hears you, and He is already at work in your life. Surrender is not a one-time act but a daily choice to lay down your will and pick up His. When the memories of the past try to rise up, remind yourself of who you are in Christ: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are not a victim of your past; you are a victor in Christ.

We also encourage you to seek out godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a trusted Christian friend, or a biblical counselor. Healing is often a process, and having support along the way can make all the difference. Do not isolate yourself in this journey. The enemy would love for you to believe you are alone, but God has placed people in your life to walk with you. As it is written, "Two are better than one... For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Lastly, immerse yourself in God’s Word. The Bible is not just a book; it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). When lies from the past or the enemy try to take root, counter them with Scripture. For example, if you struggle with fear, meditate on verses like "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). If you battle feelings of unworthiness, cling to "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Let the truth of God’s Word renew your mind and transform your heart.

Keep pressing into Jesus. He is your healer, your deliverer, and your peace. The road of surrender may not always be easy, but it is always worth it, for it leads to the abundant life He has promised. We are praying for you, and we believe that God is going to do immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Trust Him, beloved. He is faithful.

Surrender isn’t usually a single dramatic moment; often it’s a thousand small, daily choices to loosen our grip and say, “Jesus, this too.” And healing from the past is not about pretending it didn’t happen, but about inviting the Lord into the very memories we’d rather lock away. You don’t have to sort it all out first. You can simply ask Him to sit with you there, in what hurt, and let His presence gently rewrite the story. Sometimes that’s best done with a trusted Christian counselor or a pastor who can help you navigate what surfaces, not because your faith is small, but because we aren’t meant to carry everything alone.

We also want to affirm: the adult you is not doomed to repeat the patterns of the child you were. God’s Spirit is living and active in you right now, tenderly untangling the threads of the past and making all things new. Trust is built as we see Him faithful in small ways today, even while we wait for bigger answers.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to meet this precious sibling in the quiet place of surrender. Soothe the places childhood still stings, and give them a tangible sense of Your nearness. Build their trust step by step, and let them know deep down that You are working even when they cannot see it. In Your name, amen.

The cry of your heart, “I am praying that I truly surrender,” is a sign of the Spirit’s work within you. It is no small thing to be brought to the place where you long to cease from your own strivings and let God work. Yet take heed: many say they desire surrender but cling to some shred of self-reliance. Unconditional surrender is what God requires, fling wide the gates of the city of Mansoul and admit Prince Emmanuel to rule as sole sovereign in every street. Until you do, you cannot get on. You have been diligent in the means of grace, in searching the Scriptures, and in private prayer, but peace eludes you because you still keep some part of your life under your own command. Open every room of your heart, even those dark chambers where the wounds of childhood lie festering. Speak thus to your Lord: “Take all, rule all, heal all.”

Healing from the miseries of those early years will not come by your own effort. The leaves of that tree which grows by the river of life are for the healing of the nations, and the very least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. The pardoning hand that takes away sin takes away the sting of past sorrow. The inhabitant shall not say, “I am sick,” for pardon makes us forget the reproach and pain of what was before. But you are not to feel this before you trust Him; you are to trust Him for this very thing. If you say, “Lord, I cannot trust You unless I feel relief,” you make a god of your feelings. The lepers in the Gospel were healed as they went on their way, acting on Christ’s bare word. So you, before you feel the healing of your soul’s deep hurts, step out in obedience. Trust Jesus as you feel yourself dying, and you shall live.

Yet faith and prayer are not separate works; they are the breathing in and breathing out of the renewed soul. You ask for healing and surrender, then pray with a fervent importunity that will not be silenced. True prayer is pleading with the Most High, spreading your case before Him and pressing your suit with arguments from His own promises. If you do not have liberty in prayer, do not resort to a form; rather cry out with groanings that cannot be uttered, for the prayer of the bewildered, reeling soul is heard by the God who pities those at their wit’s end. And even if the answer tarries, send the servant back to look, not once but seven times, continuing in importunate prayer, believing that He cannot lie.

Remember, earthly parents sometimes keep their children waiting, not to deny them but to enlarge their desire and strengthen their trust. So God may delay to answer your prayer for the complete healing of old wounds, teaching you to wait upon Him alone, not upon the answer. He will answer at the right time, punctually at the very tick of the clock of wisdom. And the answer often comes not as we expect, but after God’s own fashion. Jacob limped after Peniel, yet his prayer was fully answered. You may carry a tenderness in the memory, a holy limping that keeps you humble, yet know that the power of those childhood chains over your life is utterly broken.

Therefore, take your eyes off your own faith and your own prayers, and put them wholly on Jesus. He cannot refuse to save you if you trust Him. Trust Him with all those tangled affections and deep sorrows, what is one soul? He could be trusted with a million souls if you had them. Make a full capitulation now. Trust His Son Jesus. From that moment you are saved from guilt, and the healing stream begins to flow into every part of your being. Go forth and expect to see His work, for He that has brought you to desire surrender will complete what He has begun.

Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. When faith is needed in matters which are felt and handled, much more in the case of things invisible. To truly surrender and allow God to work is to possess that full assurance of faith where we believe as concerning things we see, even more so, trusting not to senses but to the Spirit.

Consider how Christ often granted healing to the faith of others, even when the one healed could not come or imagined nothing great of Him. How much more will He attend to the cry of your own heart? He puts the question to you now as He did to them: Do you believe that I am able to do this? Not merely to entreat, but to do it? For this is the faith that makes saints, that ushers in healing not only of body but of memory and wound.

Do not think your childhood sufferings too deep or too old. The Voice that called Lazarus from the tomb calls you now: surrender, and hear. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Let every remembrance be brought into that hearing. Stand and listen for the Bridegroom's voice, and as you hear, you will find your joy accomplished.

He desires that you be a participator in the good work, not a passive recipient only. Therefore let the cry of your soul be mercy, and nothing else. That word is not flattery; it is the speech of one who knows her need and trusts His love. In full assurance of faith, draw near. Your healing waits upon this surrender, and the power of faith is great.

The desire you have to truly surrender and trust God is itself evidence that His Spirit is already at work in you. Real faith does not start with our striving; it begins when we stop looking at our own ability and start looking at the finished work of Jesus Christ. You want healing from childhood so that the past does not lead your life, and that healing comes as you place your trust not in your own efforts to be better or feel better, but in the One who accounts faith as righteousness.

Think of Abraham. He simply believed God, and God credited that faith to him as righteousness. It was not Abraham’s performance that made him right with God, but his trust in the promise. So it is with you. Your standing before God is never built on how well you surrender or how completely you heal. It rests entirely on your faith in Jesus Christ. When you believe on Him whom God has sent, that is the work God desires. And from that faith, true surrender flows.

Surrender means handing over your past, your pain, and even your struggle to trust, and saying, “Lord, I place this in Your hands. I am going to watch and see what You do, knowing You have promised to work.” You do not need to understand how He will untangle everything. Abraham did not stagger at the promise through unbelief; he gave glory to God and grew strong in faith. When you cannot feel anything and all you have is the bare word of God, that is enough. His promises rest on His own grace, not on your feelings.

God is pleased by this kind of trust. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, and when you come to Him, simply believing that He is and that He rewards those who seek Him, you honor Him. You may find yourself praying, “Lord, help me to believe You,” and that, too, is a prayer of faith. Even the faith to believe comes as a gift from Him, so you never need to manufacture something in yourself.

As you let go and trust His work, He will address the wounds of childhood. He is the one who heals, and He often does it while He prepares you for something greater. The chipping away at clumsy edges can be uncomfortable, but you can rest assured that He is faithful. Your part is to keep looking to Jesus and His righteousness imputed to you, not to your own ability to put the past behind you. When your thoughts try to drag you back, remember: it was not by your strength that enemies were driven out in days of old, and it will not be by your strength now. The same God still works.

So step into the freedom of knowing that your surrender does not earn His work; it simply positions you to receive what grace has already provided. Trust Him, even when you cannot trace His hand. He sees you in Christ, and in Him you are righteous. That is the solid ground on which all healing rests.
