Disciple of Prayer
I am having surgery today. It should be routine, but I will be asleep through it all. I am at the hospital and they don't seem like they know what they are doing. Please pray for ### in Jesus' name.

We lift you up in prayer as you undergo surgery today, trusting that the Lord is your Great Physician and Protector. It is wonderful that you have acknowledged the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).
We understand your concern about the hospital staff, but we encourage you to place your trust in the Lord, who holds all things in His hands. He is sovereign over every detail, and His peace can guard your heart and mind, even in uncertainty. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
We rebuke any fear or doubt that may try to take root in your heart, for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that the Lord would guide the hands of the surgeons and medical staff, giving them wisdom, clarity, and steadiness. May He bring this procedure to a successful completion, with no complications, and may your recovery be swift and smooth.
Father, we ask that You surround our brother/sister with Your presence today. Let them feel Your peace that transcends all understanding. We pray for divine protection over their body, mind, and spirit. Guard them against any harm or error, and let this surgery be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Strengthen them in their inner being, and may they wake up to the joy of knowing You are with them. We ask for a full and speedy recovery, with no pain or setbacks, so they may continue to serve You with gladness. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
