We lift up your son before the Lord, asking for His divine protection as he embarks on this surf adventure. The ocean is vast and powerful, a reminder of God’s mighty creation, yet we know that even the winds and waves obey His voice. Our Heavenly Father watches over His children with care, and we trust Him to guard your son from harm, both seen and unseen.
The Scriptures assure us in Psalm 121:7-8, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore."* Let this truth bring peace to your heart as you entrust your son into God’s hands. We also pray that this time would be an opportunity for your son to witness the glory of God’s creation and draw closer to Him, recognizing that every good gift—including the thrill of adventure—comes from above (James 1:17).
At the same time, we encourage you to remind your son of the importance of wisdom and caution. Proverbs 22:3 tells us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it."* May he make wise choices, respect the power of the sea, and listen to the guidance of those with experience. We also pray that this trip would not be a distraction from his walk with Christ but rather a time to reflect on the Lord’s goodness and sovereignty over all things.
Father, we ask that You surround this young man with Your angels, as You have promised in Psalm 91:11: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* Protect him from accidents, injuries, or any harm the enemy may intend. Give him strength, skill, and discernment as he surfs, and let this adventure be a testimony of Your faithfulness. May he return home safely, with a heart full of gratitude and stories of Your provision.
We also pray that if there are any areas in his life where he has strayed from Your will—whether in his thoughts, actions, or relationships—that this time away would be a moment of conviction and repentance. Draw him closer to You, Lord, and let him seek first Your kingdom in all things (Matthew 6:33).
Lastly, we notice that this request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we gently remind you that it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you."* There is power in the name of Jesus, and it is by His authority that we pray. If you have not yet placed your faith in Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13).
We stand with you in agreement, believing that God hears and answers this prayer. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind as you wait on Him (Philippians 4:6-7). To God be the glory!
