We join with you in prayer over this difficult employment experience and the heavy burden it has placed on your mental health and life. We understand how painful it can be when the treatment from coworkers is harsh and the conditions of a job are oppressive, and how those wounds can linger even after you have moved on to start your own business.
Scripture reminds us that God sees and cares deeply about our distress. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We are encouraged to bring every anxiety to Him, for Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We also hear in your request a need for healing from what others have done. It can be very hard to let go of hurt caused by how we were treated, yet God calls us to release bitterness so that we may be free. Ephesians 4:32 says And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. This does not excuse wrong treatment, but it entrusts justice to God and opens our hearts to His healing. We encourage you to ask the Lord to help you forgive those coworkers, not because the hurt was small, but because you are choosing to walk in the freedom Christ gives.
As you have now stepped into running your own business, we pray that God will redeem even this painful season. Romans 8:28 assures us We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. And Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. We pray that you will find renewed purpose and dignity in your work as you labor now as for the Lord. Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. May your business be a place where you experience the rest and strength that Jesus promises in Matthew 11:28-30, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. And Isaiah 41:10 reminds you Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and find true healing and salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Him that our prayers are heard and our hearts are made whole.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who has been wounded by a difficult workplace and by hurtful treatment from others. Lord, You see the pain that has affected mental health and daily life. We ask You to bring Your healing to every broken place, to calm anxious thoughts, and to restore peace and joy. Help us to cast every care upon You and to receive Your peace that surpasses understanding. Grant the grace to forgive those who caused harm, and free this heart from lingering bitterness or fear. We ask You to redeem this painful experience and use it for good. Bless the work of these hands in this new business, establish its plans, provide wisdom, provision, and favor, and let all labor be done heartily for You. Strengthen and uphold this one with Your righteous right hand, renew mental and emotional health, and give deep rest for the soul. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus, that there may be full assurance of salvation and continual access to Your throne of grace through His name. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to surround yourself with godly counsel and supportive believers, and to seek wise help for your mental health needs as well, trusting that God often works through community and counsel to bring restoration. We are standing with you, trusting God for complete healing, peace, and blessing on the work He has set before you.
