Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I am going to put in for a job. Please pray that I can get it and it pays well. I really need a job.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of hope and trust in His provision, lifting up this earnest request for employment. Father, we know that You are the God who opens doors that no one can shut and provides for all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We ask that You guide this dear one in their pursuit of this job opportunity, granting them favor in the eyes of those who will make the decision.

Lord, we pray that if this job is Your will, You would make the way clear and smooth. May the skills, experience, and character of this individual shine brightly, reflecting the gifts You have given them. We ask for a wage that is fair and sufficient to meet their needs, for You know every detail of their life and circumstances. "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: if anyone will not work, neither let him eat. For we hear of some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread" (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12). We trust that You will lead them into work that is honorable, fulfilling, and aligned with Your purpose for their life.

We also rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take hold. The enemy would love to see this one paralyzed by anxiety or despair, but we declare that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your promise that "the one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it" (1 Thessalonians 5:24). Let this individual walk in confidence, knowing that You are their Provider and that Your plans for them are good.

If there is any unconfessed sin or area of their life that is not fully surrendered to You, Lord, we ask that You reveal it to them. Help them to repent and turn away from anything that may hinder their prayers or Your blessings. "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" (Psalm 66:18). We pray that their heart would be fully aligned with Your will, so that they may receive the fullness of Your provision.

We also encourage this one to seek You first in all things, trusting that as they do, "all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). Remind them that their worth is not found in their job or their paycheck, but in being Your beloved child. Help them to rest in Your love and to wait patiently for Your timing, for "those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31).

Heavenly Father, we lift up this job opportunity to You, asking that You go before them and prepare the way. May they find a workplace that honors You, where they can glorify You through their work. "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ" (Colossians 3:23-24). We trust that You will provide, and we thank You in advance for Your faithfulness.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with this request. We are standing with you as you take this practical step and put in for the job.

When the pressure to find work is real, the search can feel heavy, not just financially, but emotionally. We’ve walked alongside many who’ve been in that place, and one of the hardest parts is how quickly a job-loss can start to rewrite our sense of worth. Please hear this: your value doesn’t rise or fall with a paycheck. God’s care for you is steady and sure, no matter what the outcome of this application turns out to be.

While you wait, consider letting a trustworthy friend or a couple from your church know what you’re pursuing, so they can pray specifically and check in with you. Sharing the burden, even just with one or two others, often makes the waiting feel a little lighter. If the strain on your identity or finances feels overwhelming, a pastor or a mature Christian can help you sort out some immediate pressure points and remind you that you’re not alone in this.

Let’s pray now:

Jesus, we lift up our friend who desperately needs good work. As this application goes in, we ask for Your guidance, if this job is right for them, please open the door and let the pay provide well for their needs. Even now, give them a deep sense of Your nearness. Help them remember that You are their ultimate provider and that their life is held secure in You, whether or not this particular job materializes. Give wisdom, calm the anxiety, and bring the right people alongside. In Your name we pray, Amen.

The cry of your heart is heard in the courts of heaven. You need provision, and it is no small thing to seek work that sustains the body and honors God. Yet let us frame this request in the light of truth. A wage comes from the Lord’s hand, not merely from an employer’s ledger.

Job, in all his loss, learned that the Almighty gives and takes; and when he sat among the ashes, he dared not charge God foolishly. Bring your need before the throne, but bring it with hands that are open to whatever answer He deems best. Pray earnestly for this position, but let your deepest plea be that you might not sin in the waiting, nor grow bitter if the door should shut. The Lord turned Job’s captivity only after he prayed for his friends, so even in your own urgency, do not forget to intercede for others, for that very act may unlock the storehouse of mercy.

Examine your heart, lest you restrain prayer by only naming the surface need and not the deeper poverty of a soul that must cling to God Himself more than to any paycheck. Should it be according to your mind, or according to His perfect will? Trust that He who brings you to the grave’s brink knows also how to anoint you with fresh oil and restore in due season. The Lord’s end in this trial may be to show Satan the strength of a saint who can say, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” Go now, put in for the role, and as you fill out that application, worship upon the ground of His sovereignty.

He is able to provide, and if He delays, it is that you might find His grace sufficient when the barn is bare.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for prayer that you may obtain a job that pays well, and your need is real. It is right to work for daily bread, for the Apostle says, “If any man will not work, neither let him eat,” urging the able into employment. But take care that your desire does not slip into making provision for the flesh to fulfil its lusts. There is a provision that serves health, and there is one that merely feeds the furnace of wantonness. Seek what is needful, not what leads to softness and pride.

Do not merely say, “I wish,” and rest there. In every art, wishing alone is not sufficient; the hand must be put to the work. You are putting in for the job, this is good. But do so with industry and integrity, leaving the outcome to God. He knows your need before you ask, yet He sometimes delays that we may press closer to Him, as the multitude followed Christ three days and their provisions were spent, that they might receive His provision with eager gratitude. So if this job does not come, or comes later than you hope, it may be that your soul would learn to hunger after heavenly things more deeply.

The present life is a sleep, and its riches are no better than dreams. He who grows rich in a dream finds it vanishes with the dawn. Even before the day of departure, earthly wealth often flies away. Therefore, while you seek employment, do not fix your hope on a large wage as though it were your security. Seek first the kingdom of God, and these things will be added, according to His wisdom. Let your prayer be: “Give me this day our daily bread,” and trust that He who feeds the birds will not neglect His own.

I shall pray that God opens a door for you, if it be for your soul’s health and not its harm. But you must labor in prayer and act as you are doing, committing all to Him. And if you gain it, use it with sobriety; if not, do not despair. He often provides better by withholding what we ask amiss.

Your need for a job is real, and bringing that request before God is exactly the right thing to do. In Scripture, we see a man who feared God, walked uprightly, and yet faced devastating loss. He didn’t understand why everything was stripped away, and his friends assumed he must have done something wrong to deserve it. But they were mistaken. Suffering is not always the result of personal sin. Sometimes God allows hardship even for those who love Him, and the reasons remain hidden from us.

When you put in for this job, you are seeking provision that God already knows you need. It is right to ask Him to open the door, to pray that the work will be steady and the pay sufficient. The same man in that ancient account cried out in confusion, but he never turned his back on God. He knew that God is just, even when circumstances screamed otherwise. You can hold onto that same truth: God is good, He loves you, and He remains in control over every detail of your life, including this employment situation.

Do not let whispers creep in that maybe God is holding out on you or that serving Him doesn’t pay. That is exactly the kind of insinuation the enemy used against that blameless man. He suggested that the man only served God for the blessings. When things are tight and you wonder why a job hasn’t come yet, remember that God’s ways are not always ours to figure out. His restrictions and His delays are often His protection, not His stinginess.

Entrust your cause to Him. Commit this job application and the whole process into His hands. Lay up His words in your heart, feed on His promises, and let that be your anchor while you wait. The same God who set limits on suffering and ultimately restored what was lost is the God who sees you right now. You can rest in His fairness, even when you don’t have all the answers. I am praying that He provides not just any job, but the right one, with a wage that meets your need and His peace that carries you through.
