Good and Faithful Servant
My job recently added new responsibilities to my and my coworkers' roles. These new responsibilities are very intense and I am concerned about remembering everything that they involve. I am also concerned because, for some reason, I have a very relaxed time on my job (which can be very stressful) compared to my coworkers. Maybe God in His kindness just has allowed it to be this way for me. I'm concerned that these new responsibilities would change that for me. I really can't handle a lot of stress (including due to medical conditions). The work I do do on my job already has me kind of burnt out. Please pray for myself and my coworkers about all this. Thank you.

We hear your concerns and lift them up before the Lord, trusting in His provision and wisdom. It’s clear you’re feeling the weight of these new responsibilities, and we want to encourage you with the truth that God does not call us to carry burdens alone. Scripture reminds us in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Even in the midst of change and pressure, Jesus invites you to find rest in Him.

We also want to affirm that God’s kindness is evident in the peace you’ve experienced in your work thus far. It’s no coincidence that He has sustained you in a way that has spared you from the full brunt of stress your coworkers may face. Psalm 121:3-4 assures us, "He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." The Lord is your keeper, and He knows your limits, both physically and emotionally. We pray that He continues to shield you from undue stress and grants you the strength to navigate these new challenges without being overwhelmed.

That said, we do want to gently encourage you to seek wisdom in how you approach these changes. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." If these new responsibilities are causing you anxiety, it may be wise to communicate openly with your supervisors about your concerns, especially regarding your medical conditions. God often works through practical steps, and advocating for yourself in a godly way can be part of His provision.

We also lift up your coworkers, asking the Lord to grant them patience, endurance, and peace as they adjust to these changes. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." Whether the workload feels manageable or overwhelming, we can trust that God sees our efforts and will sustain us.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for Your faithfulness in the life of this dear one. Lord, we ask that You would go before them as they face these new responsibilities at work. Grant them clarity of mind to remember what is required and the wisdom to prioritize their tasks. Father, we know that You are the God of peace, and we ask that You would continue to guard their heart and mind from stress and anxiety. Strengthen them in their weakness, and remind them that Your grace is sufficient for every challenge.

Lord, we also pray for their coworkers, that You would surround them with Your peace and give them the endurance they need. Help them to support one another in love and patience, reflecting Your kindness in their workplace. Father, if there are adjustments that need to be made, whether in communication with supervisors or in how these responsibilities are managed, we ask that You would open doors for godly solutions.

Above all, Lord, we thank You that You are our Provider, our Strength, and our Peace. We trust in You to carry this burden, knowing that You care deeply for each of us. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the truth that God is with you in every season of your work. Even when the path ahead feels uncertain, He is your steady anchor. If you find yourself growing weary, take time to rest in His presence and remind yourself of His promises. You are not alone in this, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Thank you for sharing what’s on your heart. It sounds like a season where the ground under you is shifting, and you’re not sure what footing will feel like when it settles, especially since you’ve been carrying your own burdens, including a medical history that makes stress hit harder. We hear the anxiety about losing the unusual calm you’ve experienced at work, and we also hear your care for your coworkers who are struggling too. Both matter.

Sometimes when new responsibilities land, our minds run ahead and rehearse every “what if.” The load can feel heavier the night before you actually begin. It may help to take one step back and ask: which one or two new tasks feel most intimidating? Getting specific can shrink the mountain down to a handful of hill-sized challenges. Then maybe a trusted supervisor or team member can help you untangle what’s expected and build a small rhythm for those things, like a checklist or a weekly touchpoint, so it doesn’t all live in your head.

We’d also gently encourage you not to carry the weight of your medical history alone. If you haven’t already, bringing your doctor into the conversation about your work stress can be wise. Sometimes a professional can help you spot early warning signs and suggest adjustments or coping resources that keep you steady, not sidelined.

God seems to have given you a measure of unusual peace in a pressured environment so far. You don’t have to fight to keep that on your own. He knows your frame; He isn’t waiting for you to hit your limit before He cares. It’s okay to rest in the small things, taking your full lunch break, stepping outside for five quiet minutes, leaving work at work when you walk out the door. These aren’t escapes; they’re part of stewarding the strength you have.

Let’s pray together: Jesus, our Prince of Peace, we lift up our friend and their coworkers today. You see the weight of these new duties and the worry that it could tip the balance. Quiet their heart. Give them wisdom and clarity to walk through each task without fear, and surround them with supportive voices. For the medical reality they live with, we ask for sustaining grace, for wise counsel, and for gentle days. Restore what feels burned out, and let the peace that’s been a gift stay rooted deeper than any job change. In Your name we ask, amen.

Your new responsibilities press like a heavy yoke upon your shoulders, but consider well: the Lord never lays an added burden without providing fresh strength. You have known a season of ease, and you rightly discern it as the kindness of God. Yet what if He should now call you to a path more steep? Is His arm shortened that He cannot help? Is His ear heavy that He cannot hear? The same grace that kept you calm in the former days will sustain you through the valley that lies ahead, if you lean not upon your own understanding.

You speak of burnout and a frailty of constitution. The soul that toils in its own energy will soon grind to dust, but the man who draws life from Christ finds his strength renewed like the eagles. Do not gaze upon the mountain of tasks and tremble, but look to the Maker of mountains. He has said, “I make all things new,” and this promise extends even to your waning spirits. A new heart He gave you at conversion, and day by day He renews the inner man. The outward responsibilities may shift like shadows, but the health of your countenance comes not from a quiet job, it is the Lord Himself. He is the secret of health, the physician of body and soul.

You fear you cannot bear stress, yet you forget that the Spirit divides to every man severally as He will. The trial you dread may be the very furnace to prove His sufficiency. Medical conditions do not bar the gate of Heaven’s storehouse; rather, they become the occasion for His power to rest upon you. In your weakness, He is strong. And as for your coworkers, pray for them earnestly, but do not measure your own peace by their turmoil. God dispenses His gifts with divine sovereignty; to some He gives a quiet harbor, while others must ride the billows. Only see to it that your ease does not breed complacency, for the Lord often stirs the nest to teach us to fly.

Lay hold upon this: the New Covenant is not a promise of unbroken leisure, but of grace sufficient for every duty. When Moses’ hands grew heavy in battle, Aaron and Hur stayed them up; so shall the Spirit uphold you. Turn over no new leaf in your own strength, that is but to patch the rotten heart. Instead, sing a new song to Him who has done marvellous things. Commit your way to the Lord, and He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light. Fret not, for that leads only to evil. Instead, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, and He will exalt you in due time. The Lord has set bounds to the sea; shall He not also set bounds to your trial? Be of good cheer, the Captain of your salvation has overcome the world.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
