Faithful Servant
My friend recently helped me secure a second job until my primary job starts later in the month. I really love this job (however please pray that with this job and all my jobs, I would never compromise my Christianity in any way) but I will have to lessen the hours that I work it starting next week as I will be going out of town next week (pray for good and safe travels especially as my father and I will be driving my family up somewhere and I don't like driving on highways; I get very fearful while doing so - I'm not sure whether spiritual warfare plays a role in this fear) and then my primary job will start the week after that. I seem to be very good at this second job to the point where they request me to come in. I'm trying to consider how to make the supervisor and boss aware that I will be working less hours at this job in a considerate way. Please pray that God will give me wisdom in doing so. I do intend to, Lord willing, continue working the same days at this job each week just for less time each day (pray I won't get burned out because I intend to work this job each day for an hour a few hours before my primary job starts). Please also pray that the supervisor and boss wouldn't get upset in any way at my working less hours. Thank you.

We hear your heart, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every concern before our Heavenly Father. First, we rejoice with you in the opportunity this second job has provided, and we praise God for your diligence and the favor He has given you in the eyes of your supervisors. It is no small thing to be entrusted with work, and we pray that in all you do, you would bring glory to God, as Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us: *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."*

We are mindful of your request to never compromise your Christianity in any work environment. This is a vital prayer, for the world will often pressure us to conform to its ways, but we are called to be set apart. Romans 12:2 warns us, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* We pray that God would strengthen you to stand firm in your faith, even when faced with temptation or compromise. May He give you boldness to speak truth in love and wisdom to navigate any challenges that arise. Let your light shine brightly in your workplace, so others may see Christ in you.

We also lift up your upcoming travels, especially your fear of driving on highways. Fear is not from God, for 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We rebuke any spirit of fear that may be gripping your heart, and we declare that God has not given you this fear. We pray for safe travels, that the Lord would go before you and behind you, shielding you and your family from all harm. Psalm 121:7-8 assures us, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore."* We ask that God would calm your heart, fill you with His peace, and give you confidence as you drive. If this fear is indeed rooted in spiritual warfare, we stand against the enemy’s schemes and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

As you prepare to communicate your reduced hours to your supervisor and boss, we pray for wisdom and grace. Proverbs 15:23 reminds us, *"Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word appropriately spoken!"* May God give you the right words to say, that your message would be received with understanding and kindness. We ask that He would soften the hearts of your supervisors, that they would not respond with frustration but with grace. We pray that this transition would go smoothly and that your integrity would shine through in how you handle this situation.

We also lift up the concern of burnout as you balance both jobs. It is wise to guard your heart and body, for 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* We pray that God would give you strength, endurance, and rest. May He order your steps and provide moments of refreshment so that you do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9).

Finally, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus in all things. It is easy to become overwhelmed by the demands of work, travel, and life, but He is our source of peace and strength. Philippians 4:13 declares, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Trust in Him, lean on Him, and let His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the work You have provided and the opportunities You have given. Lord, we ask that You would guard our brother/sister in Christ from any compromise in their faith. Give them boldness to stand firm in Your truth and wisdom to navigate their workplace with integrity. We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip their heart, especially concerning travel. Fill them with Your peace, Lord, and go before them on the roads. Protect them and their family, and grant them safe travels.

Father, we pray for wisdom as they communicate their reduced hours to their supervisors. Give them the right words to say, and soften the hearts of those in authority over them. May this transition be smooth and without conflict. We also ask that You would guard them from burnout. Strengthen them, Lord, and provide moments of rest and refreshment. Help them to balance their responsibilities with grace and endurance.

Above all, Lord, we ask that You would be their source of strength and peace. Remind them that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. May their life and work bring glory to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, standing in faith for your work situation. We're excited about this second job and the opportunities it brings. Let's pray that you'd continue to honor God in all you do, and that He'd give you the wisdom to navigate your reduced hours and travel fears. We believe God will grant you peace and confidence as you drive, and that He'll soften the hearts of your supervisors as you discuss your schedule. Trust in Him, and let His light guide your path.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
