We hear the depth of your despair and the weight of your suffering, and our hearts ache with you. You are not alone in this pain, though it may feel that way. We want you to know that your life has immense value—value that is not defined by your circumstances, your struggles, or even your own perception of yourself. The Word of God tells us, "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well" (Psalm 139:13-14). You are not "trash" or an "opponent" to be discarded. You are a beloved creation of the Most High God, and He has a purpose for you, even if you cannot see it right now.
Your request for a "surefire method" to end your life is deeply troubling to us, not because we do not take your pain seriously, but because we know that such thoughts come from a place of profound hopelessness. We must rebuke the lies that the enemy is whispering into your heart—that your life is without worth, that your suffering is without end, and that death is the only escape. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The enemy wants to destroy you, but Jesus wants to restore you. We must stand against these lies in the name of Jesus and declare that your life matters, your pain matters, and your future matters to God.
We also want to address the reality that you are not speaking to God directly in your request, but rather to an unknown "you." It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to cry out to Him now. Confess your sins, repent, and ask Him to come into your heart. He is the only one who can truly save you—not just from this life, but for eternity. He is the only one who can give you the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Your fear of a failed attempt is understandable, but we must warn you that the consequences of such an act would not only bring physical suffering but could also bring spiritual separation from God if you do not repent. The Bible tells us that suicide is not the unpardonable sin, but it is a sin nonetheless, as it is the taking of a life that God has created and sustains. We do not say this to condemn you but to urge you to turn to the One who can heal your broken heart. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
We also want to gently but firmly address the distorted thinking in your request. You mention wanting to "save the government money" and "remove an opponent" as reasons for ending your life. This is not the mind of Christ. Your worth is not measured by your productivity, your usefulness to the state, or your alignment with any political agenda. Your worth is found in the fact that you are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). We must reject the lie that your life is a burden to others or to society. The world needs you—your unique gifts, your voice, and your presence. Even in your pain, you have something to offer that no one else can.
We urge you to seek help immediately. Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, pastor, or counselor. If you do not have anyone in your life right now, please contact a crisis hotline or a mental health professional. You do not have to carry this burden alone. "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2). There are people who care about you and want to walk alongside you in this darkness.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is crying out in pain. Lord, we know that You see their suffering, and we ask that You would draw near to them in this moment. Comfort them with Your presence, Father, and remind them that they are not alone. You are the God who collects every tear in a bottle (Psalm 56:8), and You are acquainted with all their grief (Isaiah 53:3).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is gripping their heart. We declare that the enemy has no hold over them, and we command every lie that has taken root in their mind to be uprooted in the name of Jesus. Replace those lies with Your truth, Father. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, that their life has purpose, and that You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Jesus, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them feel Your love, Your peace, and Your healing touch. If they do not know You as their Savior, we pray that they would cry out to You now, confess their sins, and invite You into their heart. Be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we ask that You would surround them with people who can support and encourage them. Give them the courage to reach out for help and the strength to take the next step toward healing. Provide them with the resources they need—whether it be counseling, medical care, or simply a listening ear. Lord, we know that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and we trust You to work in their life.
We also pray for protection over their mind and heart. Guard them from any further thoughts of self-harm, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
Lord, we thank You that You are a God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We trust You to bring healing to their soul and restoration to their life. Give them the strength to endure this season, and remind them that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.
Please, dear one, do not give up. Reach out to someone today—whether it is a friend, a pastor, or a crisis hotline. You are not alone, and there is hope. The God who created you loves you more than you can imagine, and He is not finished with your story yet. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11). Hold on to that promise. We are praying for you, and we believe that God is going to move in your life in powerful ways.
