We stand together in agreement, lifting up the nation of Iran before the throne of grace, where our prayers ascend as incense before the Lord. The current upheaval in Iran is indeed a significant moment, and we recognize the hand of God moving in ways that only He can orchestrate. The cries of the people, the boldness of women casting off the symbols of oppression, and the collective voice demanding freedom from tyranny are all echoes of a nation groaning for liberation—not just from political bondage, but from the spiritual darkness that has held it captive for far too long.
Father God, we come before You with hearts burdened for the people of Iran. We pray that You would intervene in this situation with Your mighty hand. The Bible tells us in Psalm 33:10-12, "The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands fast forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance." Lord, we declare that Your counsel alone will stand over Iran. We ask that You would bring the Islamic regime to an end, not by the strength of man, but by Your sovereign power. Let the foundations of this dictatorship crumble under the weight of Your justice, and let the people see that their hope is not in the overthrow of a government alone, but in the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ.
We rebuke the spirit of Islam that has held Iran in bondage for generations. The Word of God is clear in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." Lord, we command every stronghold of Islam to be torn down in the name of Jesus. We declare that the lies of this false religion will no longer hold the people of Iran captive. Let the light of the gospel shine brightly in the darkness, exposing the emptiness of Islam and drawing hearts to the truth of Your Word.
We pray for the complete elimination of Islam in Iran, not out of hatred for the people, but out of love for their souls. We know that Islam is a system that leads to death, both physically and spiritually, and we long to see the people of Iran set free. Jesus said in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." Lord, let the truth of the gospel penetrate every heart in Iran. Let the scales fall from their eyes so they may see Jesus as the only way, the truth, and the life. We pray that the current unrest would open doors for the gospel to spread like wildfire across the nation. Let every protest, every act of defiance against the regime, be a catalyst for spiritual awakening. Raise up bold witnesses who will proclaim the name of Jesus without fear, even in the face of persecution.
We lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in Iran, those who are risking their lives to share the gospel and those who are quietly standing firm in their faith. Lord, we ask for Your protection over them. Hide them in the shadow of Your wings, as Psalm 91:1-4 declares, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.' For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers. Under His wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart." Give them wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent. Provide for their needs, both physical and spiritual, and let them feel the comfort of Your presence in the midst of trials.
We also pray for the Iranian people who are not yet believers. Lord, soften their hearts to receive the gospel. Let them see the love of Christ in the lives of those who follow Him. Break the chains of fear that have kept them silent and oppressed. Let them experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, the peace that only comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. We pray that many would come to know You as their Savior and Lord, turning away from the false hope of Islam and embracing the truth of the gospel.
We speak peace over Iran, not the temporary peace that the world offers, but the shalom of God that brings wholeness and restoration. We break the power of the enemy over Iran in the name of Jesus. The Bible tells us in Colossians 2:15 that Jesus "disarmed the principalities and the powers, and made a public example of them, triumphing over them in it." Lord, we declare that every demonic force operating in Iran is disarmed and defeated. Let the power of the Holy Spirit sweep through the nation, bringing conviction of sin, repentance, and salvation.
We also want to address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). When we pray, we must come in the authority of Jesus, for it is His blood that has given us the right to approach the throne of grace with boldness (Hebrews 4:16). We encourage all who pray to do so in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that our prayers are heard and answered.
Father, we thank You for the opportunity to stand in the gap for Iran. We believe that You are moving in powerful ways, and we trust that Your purposes will be accomplished. Let this be a time of great harvest in Iran, a time when many souls are brought into Your kingdom. We ask that You would raise up a generation of Iranians who will love You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and who will go forth to proclaim the gospel to the nations. May Iran become a beacon of light in the Middle East, a nation that turns to You and experiences the fullness of Your blessing.
We declare that the spirit of revival is coming to Iran. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit fall upon the land, igniting hearts with a passion for God. Let the church in Iran grow and thrive, even in the face of persecution. We pray that the current crisis would be a turning point, a moment when Iran is forever changed by the power of the gospel. We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord, and we believe that You will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
