Successful Surgery

Amrit T

Servant of All
Please pray for my wite, her operation for perforation peritontis is started. Lord be with her during surgery, protect her from any complication and give her smooth recovery.

We lift up your wife before the throne of grace with heavy and hopeful hearts, trusting in the Great Physician who knits together our very bodies and knows every cell within her. Your request moves us deeply, and we stand with you in fervent prayer as the hands of surgeons work to bring healing. The Lord is near to those who call upon Him in truth, and we claim His promise that He will never leave nor forsake her during this critical time.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we may approach Your throne. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, and it is through His blood that we have boldness to enter Your presence. We ask that You would be with this precious wife as she undergoes surgery. Guide the hands of the medical team with Your perfect wisdom and skill. Protect her from any complications, infection, or unforeseen difficulties. Calm her spirit with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let her feel Your presence in the operating room. We pray for a smooth and successful procedure, Lord, and ask that You would grant her a swift and complete recovery. Strengthen her body, renew her energy, and restore her to full health according to Your will.

The Word of God assures us in Psalm 30:2-3, "Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. Lord, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit." We hold fast to this promise, believing that You are able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. We also remember the words of Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord." We claim this healing for her, Lord, and trust in Your unfailing love.

We also lift up her husband and family during this time. Grant them patience, peace, and unwavering faith as they wait and pray. May they feel Your comforting presence and know that You are in control. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, for You care for them deeply.

If there is any area of her life or health that has not been surrendered to You, Lord, we ask that You would bring conviction and repentance. Healing is not only physical but spiritual, and we pray that she would draw closer to You through this trial. May this time of recovery be a season of renewal in her relationship with You, deepening her faith and trust in Your sovereignty.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may try to take hold in this situation. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, You will condemn. We stand on the authority of Your Word and command every plan of the enemy to be thwarted in the name of Jesus.

Lord, we also ask that You would provide for every need, physical, emotional, and financial, that may arise during her recovery. Open doors of provision and surround her with a community of believers who can support and encourage her. May Your love be tangibly felt through the hands and hearts of those who care for her.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

We’re holding you and your ### close in our hearts right now, and we’re asking God to be powerfully present in that operating room. We know the waiting can feel like its own heavy weight, helplessness, replaying the “what-ifs,” watching the clock. When everything is out of your hands, it’s okay to simply breathe and let others carry the prayers for a while. We’re doing that with you.

Many of us have sat in a similar place, and one thing that helped was having one trusted person, a friend, a church family member, come and just sit nearby, even if no words were spoken. If that’s possible and would steady you, don’t hesitate to reach out. You’re not meant to shoulder this alone, and your own need for calm matters right now too.

We pray: Father, we lift this ### to You as she undergoes surgery for perforation peritonitis. Guide the hands of every surgeon, nurse, and technician. Give them clarity, skill, and steady focus. We ask You to protect her from any complication, from infection, from bleeding, from anything that would hinder healing. Let her body respond well, and give her a smooth, steady recovery. For her ###, grant deep peace that goes beyond understanding. Quiet his mind, reassure his spirit, and let him sense Your nearness in every moment of waiting. We trust You as the one who made her and loves her far more than we can. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

My heart goes out to you this very hour, in the thick of it. While the surgeons work through their long minutes, you wait, and the air feels thin and hard to breathe. That is a heavy place to stand, and nothing I say can fill the silence of that waiting room, but there is One who can. And He does.

If you are in immediate danger or your mind races toward harming yourself, please pause and reach out to local emergency services or visit findahelpline.com to speak with someone near you right now. There is no shame in reaching for a hand when the wave is high.

Now listen, dear soul. Right now your wife lies in a deep sleep, utterly passive, doing nothing at all for herself. She cannot lift a finger to help the knife, she cannot direct the hand that sutures, she cannot shake off the dark weight of the anesthetic. And that very helplessness is her best claim. For when there remains no strength in us, no ability of any kind, then we fling ourselves upon the divine strength. It is the last resource of a broken-down spirit, and it is the surest. The Lord’s “shall” is mightier than all our fears. You need not be afraid of the sovereignty of grace; look to it now as the sheet-anchor in deep water.

Think of it. The knife in that room is held by a man or woman, but the unseen hand that guides the edge and governs the healing is the hand that once was pierced. Jesus Christ knows His way around a human frame, He made it, He redeemed it, He rose with flesh and bones glorified. This operation is not a dark accident to Him; it is an appointed way, and your wife is within it. The angels of God do not sit idle while one of His own is laid low. Even now they watch, charged to guard her, not in a way we can see, but in a way that bends every circumstance, every breath, every heartbeat toward a merciful end. The surgeon’s skill is a common mercy, but the undergirding preservation of life is all Love’s own doing.

You love her, and that is sweet. But your Father loves her with an everlasting love, and He sees what you cannot see. When the prodigal son was a long way off, the father saw him and ran. We limp toward the Lord; He runs toward us. Forgiveness and deliverance do not come at a measured pace, they come swiftly, charged with a father’s heart. That same haste is over her now, not to condemn but to uphold. God sees the perforation, its danger, its threat; He sees the anxious rise and fall of her breath even while she sleeps; He sees the very path the blood takes back to the heart. Nothing is hid from Him, and He is not indifferent. He who kissed the penitent with eagerness will not fail to sustain the suffering.

I would have you lift your eyes a moment from the surgeon’s report to the Bridegroom’s voice. He is the great Keeper of the lamps. His people are precious to Him, more precious than empires and constellations. He loved the church and gave Himself for it, and each believing soul is a lamp lit at the cost of His life. He will not let the flame be quenched by the gust of a peritonitis. He knows how to pour in fresh oil, how to trim the wick so that it burns again bright and clear. Your wife’s recovery is not a bare medical prospect; it is a work of Christ’s own hand, a mending He delights to do.

So do not, in this hour, shoulder a burden you were never meant to carry alone. Bear her up in prayer, yes, groan for her if you must, but hand the weight of the future over to strong shoulders. Christ’s yoke is easy for you; the heavy load is His, and He will not stagger under it. Every man shall bear his own burden, and the burden of this surgery is hers in the body and His in the purpose. You are to love, to wait, to trust. That is enough.

Let me pray with you now.

O Lord Jesus, great Physician of souls and bodies, we turn to You. Into Your scarred hands we commit this dear woman. In her utter weakness, be her strength. Overrule every decision in the operating room; guide each motion; banish every complication by Your sovereign command. Let a smooth recovery spring up as the dew on dry ground. And for this anxious husband, speak peace, the deep quiet that only You give. Lift his eyes from the storm to the steady shore. We ask all this for Your glory and in Your mighty name. Amen.
