Father, we ask that You go before him, opening doors that no man can shut and connecting him with the right people who will support and assist him. May Your favor rest upon him like a shield, and may every requirement be met with ease according to Your will.

Lord, we know that success comes from You, and we pray that this opportunity would align with Your purpose for his life. Help him to walk in integrity, wisdom, and diligence, trusting in You rather than his own strength. May this process not only bring him closer to his earthly goals but also draw him nearer to You.

We also take a moment to address the relationship mentioned here. Marriage is a sacred covenant before God, designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church. If and his fiancée are not yet married, we encourage them to honor God by pursuing purity and commitment in accordance with His Word. Scripture warns against sexual immorality, saying, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If they are not yet married, we urge them to seek God’s timing and blessing for their union, ensuring that their relationship honors Him in every way.

Father, we pray that would find his strength and identity in You alone. May he seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto him (Matthew 6:33). Surround him with godly counsel, protect him from discouragement, and let Your peace guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, he shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). May his steps be ordered by You, and may he walk in the fullness of Your blessing. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

True prayer is a blessed mark of grace upon your soul, and you do well to bring this desire for your betrothed before the throne. Who is like unto the God of Jeshurun? When He turns in a way of favor to His people, He seems to fly upon the wings of the wind, for He comes with all His heart to display His love. But let us remember that the guidance you seek is not a mere push toward what we think best, but a divine schooling in submission.

A work of grace upon the heart first teaches us that we need a Guide at all, naturally, we love our own way. David began to know this as a shepherd boy, and it was well for him. So now, bowing with submission to the will of God, by that very act you and this young man are furnished with unerring direction. Great principles are infused into every man who takes God for his Guide: among them, avoid everything that is evil; walk uprightly; and lean not upon haste.

Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life. If the Lord means to open this door, no man can shut it; if He delays or denies, it is not unkindness. I have carried an unanswered prayer for a dozen years, and learned that His withholding is often a greater mercy than the granting. Success as the world counts it, the muckrake gathering up a little heap, is a poor thing if it be not seasoned with the smile of God.

His wisdom is your guidance, His love your perpetual shield. Seek first that this dear one may adorn the doctrine of God his Savior in every part of life; then, whether he wear a constable’s uniform or carry a shepherd’s crook, he will prosper indeed. The sure result of divine guidance is this: “Thou shalt afterward receive me to glory.” All our little paths here are but the porch-way to that blessed end. Lay hold upon Christ, and you shall find favor in the eyes of Him who matters most.

The blessed man is not he who seeks human favor, but he who acknowledges the very Son; this is no human opinion, but divine doctrine. When a testimony is free from human friendship, it is trustworthy, being caused by divine revelation. Success comes from reverence; the success was of himself, rather than of God's favor, and God had respect unto him for his reverence. Labor therefore for a little while, that you may win the perpetual and imperishable crowns. If your ### would be a fellow-laborer in the Gospel and profitable to it, then apart from any request, the favor is granted. Do not suppose that the favor of those that matter is great, for this shows that He is great; He is Lord of all things.

I join my heart to yours in lifting up your fiancé before the Lord. It is a good and right thing to bring every concern to the One who holds all things in His hands. Scripture reminds us that while many seek the ruler’s favor, every true judgment comes from the Lord. So we pray not only that he finds favor with those in authority over this process, but that God Himself directs every step, opening the doors that need to be opened and closing those that should remain shut.

It is clear he desires to build something good with his life, and God takes note of that. A good man obtains favor from the Lord, and when we commit our way to Him with honest intention, He does not forget. Yet the favor that matters most is not the fleeting approval of men, but the steady guidance of the Holy Spirit. I encourage both of you to lean into that truth. Ask God not only for success in the concour, but for His perfect will to be done. Sometimes we think we know exactly what path should work, but the Lord may have a purpose in delays or even closed doors that we cannot yet see.

Do not put your confidence in a formula for success or in human connections alone. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and refuse to lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight. That promise is for your fiancé right now, in every interview and every document he must follow up. Pray together and seek the mind of the Lord for this season. The early believers waited for divine direction before moving, and they saw God do what their own best plans could never accomplish.

I do want to gently remind you that even the most worthwhile goals, like serving in the police force, can become an idol if we believe they will finally bring meaning or security. Many who have climbed to the top of their professions have spoken of how empty success feels when it becomes an end in itself. The real blessing is not just getting the job, but walking with Jesus through the process, ready for whatever He ordains. If He grants this position, may it be a place where your fiancé can serve with integrity and reflect the character of Christ, treating every person with the dignity they bear as God’s image.

So press on in prayer, confident that God’s eyes are in every place, beholding both the evil and the good. He sees your fiancé’s diligence, and He cares for both of you more than you know. May the Lord guide him all through, bring him to the right people, and grant him favor that flows from heaven, not just from human goodwill. And may you both find in Christ the unshakeable foundation that sustains you whether the answer comes as you hope or in a different form. Jesus is the constant in every season.
