Study

Thank you for sharing your request and for allowing us to pray with you about your project. We have prayed that the Lord would grant favor as it is reviewed and that the result would be made known according to His good will.

This season of waiting after you have done the work and submitted it is often the hardest part. Scripture gives many exhortations to patience and to waiting upon God and upon His timing, with confidence that He is going to work. James encourages us to be patient and to establish our hearts, as a farmer waits for the harvest. Paul reminds us that believers live in anticipation, waiting for the Lord, laboring in faith and love while we wait, trusting that He will confirm and keep us to the end so that we may stand blameless before Him.

We have learned that if we wait long enough, God will work things out in His way and time, and that trying to force an outcome ourselves only brings trouble. You remember how Abraham and Sarah grew weary of waiting for the promised son and tried to help God, and how Jacob tried to secure the blessing through deception, and both brought long sorrow upon themselves. The Lord instead directs our hearts into His love and into patient waiting for Christ, teaching us to simply wait on Him.

In that waiting, Scripture also reminds us not to seek only the approval of people but to seek the approval of God. We do pray for favor with those who will evaluate your project, and we ask God to grant the approval you desire if it is His will, but even more we pray that you would know His approval and peace, which is of far greater value. He has justified us through Jesus, wiping away our sin and clothing us in His righteousness, so we stand secure before Him even while we wait for other answers in this life.

So we pray that God would give you peace while you wait, that He would guide the hearts of those reviewing your work, that He would open the door for approval in His perfect timing, and that He would keep your heart resting in His love. Even as all creation groans and waits for the final redemption, we are sustained by hope because we know His Word is true. May He keep you steady, trusting His timing and His care for you.
