Humble Servant of All
Every girlfriend my dad has had have been abusive. Verbal or physical. They have had all problems besides some. He also has gotten really unlucky in his life and is still living with us at ###. Everything he does fails in a way and it's all bad luck for him. Please pray for his life to change and also to read the bible. He has a christian friend please pray he works through my dad. Thank you everybody.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your father in prayer. The pain and struggle he has endured, both in his relationships and in the hardships of life, are not unseen by our Heavenly Father. The cycle of abuse he has faced is deeply troubling, and we grieve with you over the brokenness in his life. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We cling to this promise for him today.

First, we must address the relationships your father has pursued. The Word of God is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). The abuse he has suffered is not God’s design for marriage or relationships. We must rebuke the spirit of abuse in the name of Jesus, for it is written in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We pray that your father would turn away from relationships that do not honor God and seek a godly spouse who will love and respect him as Christ loves the Church.

The pattern of failure and misfortune in his life is also a concern. While we acknowledge that life can bring trials, we must also examine whether there are areas where he may be opening doors to spiritual attack or walking outside of God’s protection. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that your father would surrender his life fully to the Lord, seeking His wisdom and guidance in every decision.

It is encouraging to hear that he has a Christian friend, and we pray that this friend would be a vessel of God’s love and truth in his life. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), and we ask that this friendship would draw your father closer to Christ. However, we must also emphasize that true change can only come through a personal relationship with Jesus. If your father has not yet placed his faith in Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for a Savior. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is the foundation for all transformation, and without it, no lasting change can occur.

We also lift up your household in prayer. Living in a home where there is instability and pain can be incredibly difficult. We pray for peace, unity, and God’s protection over your family. Colossians 3:15 says, "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you are called to peace." May the Lord fill your home with His presence and bring healing to every heart.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this father and his family. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of abuse, failure, and misfortune in his life. We rebuke every spirit of oppression and ask that You would replace it with Your peace and provision. Father, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself, that he would come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Soften his heart to receive Your Word and open his eyes to see the truth of Your love for him.

Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly influences, friends, mentors, and a future spouse who will encourage him in his walk with You. Protect him from relationships that do not honor You and lead him into the safety of Your will. Father, we also pray for wisdom and strength for his family. Give them grace to navigate this season and trust in Your faithfulness.

We declare that Your plans for him are for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). May he experience Your restoration in every area of his life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith for your father, trusting that God is at work even when circumstances seem hopeless. Pray for him daily, speak life over him, and be a light of Christ’s love in his life. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." May the Lord strengthen you as you intercede for him.

We hear how much you love your dad, and how heavy it has been to watch him go through one painful relationship after another. When someone keeps getting hurt and nothing seems to work out, it can wear a person down and make change feel impossible. Your steady prayers for him matter more than you may realize.

Since he already has a Christian friend, one simple next step is to ask that friend to read a short passage of the Bible with him once a week, maybe over coffee. Not as a lecture, but as a steady, safe presence. If he is open, inviting him to church or a small group could give him more than one person to lean on. It also helps to gently encourage him to talk with a wise pastor or counselor, because repeated verbal or physical harm leaves wounds that need patient, trustworthy support. That is not weakness. It is how healing often begins.

Lord, we lift up this dad to you. You see the pain behind what feels like bad luck, the wounds from hurtful relationships, and the weariness of trying and failing. Bring safe and faithful people around him. Give his Christian friend wisdom and patience. Open his heart to your Word and to the help he needs. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You have asked prayer for a soul in deep need, and I will gladly join you in that prayer. But let us not call his trouble mere bad luck. Behind the broken relationships and repeated failures there is a man estranged from the God who made him, and until the heart is right with the Father, no change of circumstances will cure the wound. The abusive companions are but the bitter fruit of seeking comfort where no true comfort can be found. Pray that the Lord may strip away every false refuge and drive him to the Friend of sinners, for Jesus Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost. He is the Friend that sticketh closer than a brother, and if your ### is brought to Him, he will find what no earthly relationship could ever give.

Do not only pray that he read the Bible; pray that the Book may read him, that the Spirit may convict him of sin, and that he may take the water of life freely. Reading the Word apart from coming to Christ is worse than vain, for it may harden the conscience. Pray that the Christian friend may speak with holy boldness, not merely by words but by a surrendered life, and that the Lord would use that friend as an instrument in the hand of God.

Let your petition be for a new nature, not merely a change of circumstances. The man must be born again. The Father Himself loves sinners, and the Son intercedes for them. I will pray that your ### may be brought low enough to cry out for mercy, that the Holy Spirit would give him repentance unto life. Then his sorrows will be sanctified, and he will learn that Heaven is no distant hope, but the last change for a soul already made alive in Christ.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
