### struggling with everything in his life

Your request for your father has been heard and we join you in bringing him before the Lord with compassion and hope.

We pray first for his salvation, for there is no other hope for any of us except through Jesus Christ alone. As the Scriptures teach, our confidence must not rest in human relationships or in chance, but in repentance and faith toward God. We ask that God would draw your father to Himself, open his eyes to his need for Christ, and give him a hunger to read the Bible and to know the truth that is found there. That truth is that Christ is the Life and the Light who alone can deliver and preserve us for His kingdom.

We also pray for his life and his struggles. It is painful to see someone caught in repeated harmful relationships and to feel that everything fails. We do not ask God to bless relationships outside of His design, for He has ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and has reserved intimacy and living together as husband and wife for within that covenant. Instead we pray that God would heal your father from the wounds of verbal and physical abuse, deliver him from patterns that harm him, and teach him continence and holiness. We pray that he would turn from what is destructive and be made whole, and if it is God's will for him to be married, that he would one day pursue that holy estate in a way that honors God.

We pray for his daily needs as well, that God would provide for him, give him stability and meaningful work, and lift the discouragement that comes from feeling unlucky. Our lives are not ruled by luck, but are in the hands of a merciful Father who quickens and restores. We ask that your father would come to know God not only as Creator but as Father through faith in Christ, and find peace that endures beyond present afflictions.

We thank God for the Christian friend in his life and pray that the Lord would work through him. May that friend speak the gospel with clarity and love, live in a way that shows the power of a changed life, and have many opportunities to point your father to Christ and to the Scriptures.

We will continue to pray that your father will open the Bible, that the Lord will give him understanding as he reads, and that he will be drawn from vain hopes to a living hope in Christ. May God also strengthen you as you love your father and intercede for him, and help you to keep showing him grace and truth.

Father in heaven, have mercy on this man. Draw him to Your Son Jesus Christ, forgive his sins, give him new life, and lead him into Your Word. Heal what has been broken, deliver him from what is harmful, and set his feet on a steady path. Use his Christian friend to speak Your truth faithfully. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone saves. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden for your ###. It is painful to watch someone you love go through one hurtful relationship after another and to feel like nothing he tries succeeds. Your care for him and your desire to see his life changed is itself a work of love, and God hears that kind of prayer.

We can bring this directly to the Father in the name of Jesus. We do not need to go through a priest or any other mediator. Jesus himself said that the Father himself loves you because you have loved Him and have believed that He came from God, and that we have direct access to the Father through Him. He came from the Father into this world and He has gone back to the Father, and even now He is at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. So we can come boldly and ask the Father in Jesus name.

I am praying with you for your ### in this way. First, that he will come to know Jesus as his salvation. The Scripture says now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation, and warns us not to receive the grace of God in vain. This great salvation is open to whoever will come. Jesus said whoever comes to Him He will never cast out. There is no other way to the Father except through the Son. To see Jesus is to see the Father, and to honor the Son is to honor the Father. No one truly knows the Father except those to whom the Son reveals Him. My prayer is that your ### will believe that Jesus came from God to save him from his sins, for that name means the Lord our salvation, and that he will receive Him as Lord and Savior.

Second, I am praying that the Father will draw him into that close relationship as His child. The Bible says God will be a Father and we will be His sons and daughters, and that because we are sons He sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts crying Abba, Father. That word is like saying Daddy, a close and personal relationship, not distant or formal. God wants him to know Him as Father and to live as a child of God, living by different standards and for different purposes. The Father wants to bless him and do wonderful things for him, but He will not force His will. Prayer opens the door for the Father to do what He has wanted to do all along, as we choose to turn to Him.

Third, I am praying for the pattern of broken and abusive relationships and the sense that everything fails. That kind of hurt leaves deep wounds and can make a person feel unlucky or hopeless. God can heal that and teach him to walk in truth and love. Part of that healing comes through the Word of God. There is cleansing power in the Scripture. Jesus said we are made clean through the word He has spoken, and it is true that the book will keep you from sin and sin will keep you from that book as you abide in Him. Pray that your ### will have a hunger to read the Bible, and that as he reads he will come to faith in Christ and be kept and guided.

I am also praying for his Christian friend. Jesus promised that the Father would send the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, to testify of Him, and that He would also send that same Spirit through His people. Pray that the Father will use that friend to speak truth in love, to reflect Christ so that your ### sees the Father's love through him, and that your ###'s heart will be open to listen.

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus for this ###. You see every disappointment and every hurt he has carried and every relationship that has brought pain. We ask that You reveal Yourself to him through Your Son, that he would believe that Jesus came from You to save him, and that he would receive the gift of eternal life today. Send Your Holy Spirit to work in his heart. Give him a desire to open the Bible and to be cleansed and taught by Your Word. Use his Christian friend to testify of Jesus with grace and truth. Bring healing, bring hope, and bring a new life as Your child who can call You Abba, Father. We ask this in Jesus name, trusting that You love him and want to give him good things as he turns to You. Amen.

We want to thank you for trusting us with the privilege of standing in prayer for your father. It’s clear how deeply you care for him, and we’ve been lifting him before the Lord, asking for His healing, protection, and transformation in every area of his life. We’ve prayed specifically for an end to the cycles of hurt and struggle he’s faced, for God’s peace to guard his heart, and for the right people—like his Christian friend—to speak truth and hope into his life.

We’ve also been asking the Holy Spirit to draw him to God’s Word, that he might encounter the love and wisdom that can break chains and rewrite his story. Sometimes change doesn’t happen overnight, but we believe God is at work even when we can’t see it. If you’ve seen any glimpses of His faithfulness—whether in your dad’s attitude, circumstances, or relationships—we’d love to celebrate that with you as a praise report. If things still feel heavy and unchanged, please know we’re not finished praying. You’re welcome to post this request again, and we’ll continue to intercede with you, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will.

May the Lord surround your family with His presence, give you strength as you love your father well, and reveal Himself in ways that leave no doubt of His power and care. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.
