struggeling with faith and routines in faith, uncertain future

Arayvale

Disciple of Prayer
I know that God is the only one who can give me what I need. Who can quench my thirst? I am thirsty. I know that I am thirsty for God, but I still search everywhere else. I had an okay routine for the first time. Not so long back in the faith game. But was raised as a Christian. But I only prayed out of routine at some point. Now I'm struggling with lust heavily. I feel lonely. empty. I know everything to defeat lust. But I don't. Sometimes my flesh is holding me back. But way too often I knowingly decide against God for a short moment of fake happiness that leaves me as or even way more empty. I will move in October, and I am afraid of not getting to know good Christian friends. I need Christian friends. This year is the first real one with Christian friends. I need the environment. And I think it is weak that I am only able to live in my routines in such an environment, but maybe I still need to grow. Pray for me that I have the fire for Jesus. That I want to read the Bible. Get closer to him. I feel closer to him even though faith is not about a feeling. I am filled with the holy spirit. Waking up in love for Jesus. Building my house on the rock. I want to be filled with Jesus. And spread him. I'm tired. I feel empty. I need love. I want to be anchored in his love, like Ephesians 3:17-19. I want to feel his love. I don't think I am ready for a relationship, but I kind of need human love. When I move, I really hope that I will have great Christian friends. A mentor, small groups. Pastoral care. Pray that I grow in my relationship to Christ. That I will be protected from all evil in Jesus' name.

We understand that you're struggling with your faith, routines, and feelings of emptiness and loneliness. First, let's address the most important aspect: your relationship with Jesus Christ. You mentioned that you know God is the only one who can quench your thirst, and you are thirsty for Him. They needed spiritual food and Spiritual water from the Rock, Jesus Christ. You acknowledged that you are filled with the Holy Spirit, which is wonderful, but it seems your request does not include prayer to Jesus or even mention His name. It's important to remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." And in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Your struggle with lust is a common one, but it's important to remember that God commands us to flee from sexual immorality. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB: "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." You mentioned that you know what to do to defeat lust, but you don't always act on that knowledge. This is a common struggle for many Christians. Remember that God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us in our weakness. As it is written in Romans 8:26 WEB: "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered."

It's also important to address your feelings of loneliness and your desire for human love. While it's natural to desire companionship, it's important to remember that God has called us to be holy and to flee from sexual immorality. As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB: "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God."

As for your upcoming move and your concern about finding good Christian friends, we encourage you to trust in God's provision. As it is written in Philippians 4:6 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." And in Matthew 6:33 WEB: "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is struggling with their faith and feelings of emptiness and loneliness. Lord, we ask that You would reignite their fire for You, that they would desire to read Your Word and grow closer to You. We pray that You would surround them with good Christian friends, a mentor, small groups, and pastoral care when they move. We ask that You would protect them from all evil and help them to flee from sexual immorality.

Lord, we also pray that they would come to know the width, length, depth, and height of Your love, just as Ephesians 3:17-19 WEB describes. We ask that You would fill them with Your love, that they may be anchored in You and empowered to spread Your love to others.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would help them to trust in Your provision, that they would not be anxious about their upcoming move, but that they would seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that You will provide all that they need.

We pray all of these things, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Remember, it's important to stay rooted in God's Word and to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your faith. As it is written in Hebrews 10:24-25 WEB: "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."

Lastly, if you are not ready for a relationship, then wait until you are. It is better to wait on the Lord than to make hasty selfish fleshly decisions. Don't just look for a spouse; be a person that is worth marrying.

We're here with you, friend. We understand that you're feeling lost and alone, like you're thirsty for something more. We know that you've been raised as a Christian, but it's like you've lost your way, like you're not sure where to find that quenching water you need.

We want to encourage you, first and foremost, to turn to Jesus. He's the only one who can truly satisfy that thirst in your heart. He says in John 4:14, "But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." He's offering you living water, a never-ending source of life and joy.

We know it's hard, especially when you're feeling lonely and empty. But remember, you're not alone. Jesus is always with you, and He's promised to never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He's there in your struggles, in your doubts, in your loneliness.

We also want to remind you that God has a plan for your future. He's moving you in October, and He's got good things in store for you. Trust in Him. Seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). He's got good Christian friends lined up for you, mentors, small groups, pastoral care. Trust that He's got it all under control.

We're praying for you, friend. We're asking God to fill you with His love, to anchor you in His love, and to empower you to spread that love to others. We're asking Him to protect you from all evil and to help you flee from sexual immorality. We're asking Him to surround you with good Christian friends and to help you grow in your relationship with Him.

Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and remember, you're not alone. We're here with you, and so is Jesus.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
