Strong prayers please

Your cry is heard this very moment. Reaching the end of your own strength is not a sign of failure; it is the beginning of real help. As long as we search within ourselves for a new plan or a better effort, we remain trapped in our human limits. The apostle Paul stopped asking how he could fix himself and instead cried out from a place of desperation for an outside deliverer. That is precisely what you are doing now, and it is the most honest and powerful prayer you can offer. You are not calling for self-help; you are calling for a Savior, and that cry delights the heart of God.

The feeling that you are cut off, as if you are at the very ends of the earth, is something many who walked with God have felt. David often felt a million miles from safety, surrounded by hostility and hidden in unfamiliar territory. Yet he discovered that prayer is not limited to a place. You can cry to God from exactly where you are, right now, and He hears you. The One who keeps His people neither sleeps nor nods off; He is fully attentive to your voice.

Do not measure this situation by your own sense of difficulty. For you, this may feel massive, hard, or complex, but it is nothing for the Lord to help. We wrongly project our human limitations onto Him, forgetting that it is just as effortless for Him to handle the thing that looms over you as it is to heal a minor scratch. The struggle is never on God’s end; the need is for us to stop looking to human resources. A military alliance, a strategic plan, or the arm of flesh can never secure what only the Creator can give. Help from human strategies is futile, but through God alone you will act courageously.

Lift your eyes off the earthly hills and human solutions. When you ask where your help comes from, answer yourself with the truth: your help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth. He is not a distant force; He is the mighty God who enters the battle. Because His eyes are upon the righteous and His ears are open to their cry, He attends to you now not based on your perfection but on His mercy. That mercy endures forever, even when the trouble is of our own making, and it rushed toward you in the person of Jesus Christ, whom God raised from the dead to deliver you from ultimate destruction.

Place this whole situation deliberately into God’s hands. David found that when he did this, confidence and peace began to quiet the storm within him, even before the outward circumstances shifted. He could declare that God would help him because he had seen God deliver his soul from death in the past. Trust that the Lord who has preserved you until this very second will not abandon you now. His ear is open. His strength is bent toward you. Cry aloud to Him, and then rest in the unshakable assurance that the Creator of the hills is actively moving on your behalf.
