We join you in this desire to be strong in the Lord, for this is God's will for each of us and we are encouraged that you are seeking His strength rather than your own.
The Scripture calls us to this very thing, Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Ephesians 6:10. This reminds us that true strength does not come from our own willpower, our emotions, or our circumstances, but from abiding in Christ and relying on His mighty power at work within us. We often try to be strong in ourselves and we fail, but when we acknowledge our weakness, His power is made perfect. As He has said, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. So we can glory even in our weakness so that the power of Christ may rest on us.
To be strong in the Lord means to daily put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11. This is done through spending time in His Word, through persistent prayer, through obedience, through fellowship with other believers, and through trusting Him in every trial. We are told, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And also, Yahweh is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Psalm 28:7. We also cling to the promise, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.
We notice your request says to be strong in the lord, and we want to gently encourage you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can receive this strength. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are made children of God and receive the Holy Spirit who strengthens us. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for that is the foundation of all true spiritual strength.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who desires to be strong in You. Lord, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit and strengthen them in their inner being with power. Help them to not rely on their own understanding or strength, but to trust in You with all their heart. Teach them to put on the whole armor of God daily, to stand firm in truth, righteousness, faith, and Your Word. When they feel weak, remind them that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness. Uphold them with Your righteous right hand, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and make them steadfast and immovable in Your will. Draw them closer to Jesus each day through prayer and the Scriptures, and let their life bear witness to Your strength. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily, to dwell in His Word, to pray without ceasing, and to walk in obedience, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10. He will be faithful to strengthen you as you abide in Him.

It is more like training than trying, slow and gradual with highs and lows over a lifetime, not a single moment that fixes everything. It grows as we stay close to the Lord through simple, steady means like spending time in His Word, talking with Him in prayer, and worshiping alongside other believers. And we cannot do it on our own strength. Real growth depends on the Holy Spirit working in us as we take our small, faithful steps.
God has also made each of us differently, so your path will not look exactly like someone else's. He has given you natural abilities and spiritual gifts to use for His glory and to serve others, and discovering and using those can be part of becoming stronger too.

To desire to be strong in the Lord is a most wise and needful prayer, and one which the Lord delights to answer. The apostles themselves, when they felt their weakness before the hard commands of Christ, cried, Lord, increase our faith. It is most proper to ask the Lord to increase our faith, for He alone has power to give it and to make it grow.
You shall find that strength comes not from yourself but from abiding in Him. The joy of the Lord is your strength. As the light of joy varies so does the warmth of holy strength. He who dwells in the light of God and maintains fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ is both happy and strong. Labour therefore to abide in Him, to think over all the Lord has done, and especially how He has displayed His glory in the covenant of grace and in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. When the soul dashes on with the sacred force of faith, it is hard to freeze it into misery, its vigour secures its joy, and that joy fortifies it against temptation.
This strength is also found in resting in the Lord. To rest in the Lord is the only real rest that can be found on earth or heaven. Cease from fretting, trust, and delight yourself in Him, and be as one carried by the Spirit of the Lord, willing to will nothing but the will of your Lord. And remember what faith is. Faith is recumbency on Christ, it is lying down on Christ. As a child lies on its mother's arms, as the seaman trusts his bark, as the old man leans on his staff, so faith leans wholly upon Jesus.
Therefore glory only in the Lord, for there is no other fit ground for glorying. Glory heartily and growingly in Him as you know more of Him by revelation. And be assured that the Lord will perfect that which concerns you. What in one place is a matter of faith, in another is stated as a matter of fact, that He will perfect it. Your confidence must not lead to idleness, but to diligent activity, going on cheerfully through the world, rejoicing in the Lord your God.
I pray for you that the Lord would increase your faith, that He would keep you in communion with Christ, that He would give you the joy of the Lord to be your strength, and that He would teach you to rest in Him and lean wholly upon Him. May He hold you up whether on the pinnacle or in the valley, and perfect His work in you until you are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, for Jesus sake. Amen.

It is good that you ask to be strong in the Lord, for true strength does not come from our own resolve but from His might working in us.
Scripture teaches us what this strength looks like. Abraham was called strong in faith not because he reasoned his way to confidence, but because he gave glory to God and trusted His promise even when nature gave no hope. In the same way Paul exhorts us, finally be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. That strength is received when we trust God more than our own reasonings and when we give Him glory in all things.
This strength is kept and increased through perseverance. It comes by watching with all perseverance and prayer, by staying in the Word, by seeking God daily, and by not making provision for the desires of the flesh. It is not for a few alone, but for all who belong to Christ, whether in every circumstance of ordinary life. God allows trials to show that our faith is not built on light persuasion but on His power, so that we may stand firm and be prepared to endure.
I pray for you now that the Lord will strengthen your heart and make your faith firm. May He fill you with full assurance in His promises, keep you steadfast in prayer, guard your mind from unbelief, and enable you to walk in obedience and holiness. May you grow in faith, in knowledge of His Word, and in earnestness to do His will, and may you know that His grace is sufficient to uphold you each day.
