Strong in the lord

It is good that you are asking to be strong in the Lord, because real strength does not come from trying harder in yourself. Scripture says to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and that strength is something He gives to His people.

The Lord will give strength to His people and He will bless His people with peace. He is the light of your life and your salvation, the strength of your life. When you wait on Him He strengthens your heart. That waiting is not passive. It is trusting His promises and His character even before you see the answer, giving Him glory and thanks on the basis of His Word, believing that what He has promised He is able to do.

You have that place of nearness because of Jesus Christ. There is no veil keeping you out any longer. Through His blood you have access to the Father, and you have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. God intends to seat you together with Christ and make you a joint heir with Him. Your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When you are rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith, your life becomes centered on Him rather than on your own resources.

That is how strength grows over a lifetime. It is going in the strength of the Lord God, not in your own power or wisdom. Many begin trusting the Lord but later begin to trust their own strength or wealth. The Lord wants you to continue as you began, trusting Him in youth and in age, through trouble and through peace, keeping your affection on things above where Christ is.

There is great consolation and comfort in Christ, and fullness of joy in abiding in Him and in bringing your requests to Him in prayer. He is a God full of compassion, gracious, longsuffering and plenteous in mercy and truth, and He hears you when you call in the day of trouble.

Praying for you that God will strengthen you by His Spirit in your inner being, that you will be rooted deeply in Christ, that you will set your heart on Him and walk in Him day by day, and that you will know His grace and peace in a fresh way. May you trust His Word, give Him glory before the answer comes, and find that He is your hiding place and your strength, and that He keeps you standing upright as you trust in the name of the Lord.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for strength in the Lord. We have continued to lift you up that God would strengthen you with all power according to His glorious might and that you would be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power according to Eph 6:10. We have also prayed that He would renew your strength as you wait upon Him according to Isa 40:31 and uphold you in every trial.
