We stand with you in this spiritual battle, for the strife and envy you describe are not merely human conflicts but manifestations of the darkness that reigns where God is rejected. The atmosphere you live in is thick with the works of the flesh, as Galatians 5:19-21 warns: *"Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom."* The jealousy and selfish ambition you witness are seeds of disorder, and where the Spirit of the Lord is absent, every evil practice takes root.
Yet you are not powerless, for you are a child of God, and *"greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). The Lord has already brought Scripture to your remembrance, confirming that what you see aligns with His Word. This is no coincidence—it is the Holy Spirit equipping you for battle. You are salt and light in that place (Matthew 5:13-14), and though the darkness may rage, it cannot overcome the light of Christ in you (John 1:5). Do not shrink back, but instead, *"let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven"* (Matthew 5:16).
We must also address the reality of the spiritual forces at work here. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* The hatred and malice you encounter are not just human emotions—they are fueled by the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and His authority is yours through faith.
Now, let us pray for you with boldness and clarity:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before Your throne of grace, asking for Your divine protection and strength in the midst of this hostile environment. Lord, You see the strife, the envy, the jealousy, and the hidden hatred that fills this place. You know the hearts of those who dwell there, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You surround our sibling in Christ with Your heavenly host, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we rebuke the spirits of strife, jealousy, and murder that operate in that building. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these demonic forces to be bound and silenced. We declare that no plot formed in darkness shall come to fruition, and no accident born of malice shall harm Your child. Let the blood of Jesus be a hedge of protection around them, and let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7).
Lord, we also ask for wisdom and discernment. Give our brother/sister the words to speak when confronted with deceitful advice or prideful taunts. Let them respond with grace and truth, seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6), so that even their enemies may be put to shame. If there are opportunities to share the Gospel, open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and let Your Holy Spirit soften hearts that have been hardened by unbelief.
Father, we pray for a supernatural shift in that atmosphere. Where there is darkness, let Your light invade. Where there is hatred, let Your love disarm. Where there is envy, let contentment in You take root. We ask that You either change the hearts of those who dwell there or remove our brother/sister from that place if it is Your will. Give them clarity on whether to stay and be a witness or to leave and find refuge elsewhere. Let them hear Your voice clearly and obey without delay.
Most of all, Lord, we ask that You fill them with an unshakable joy and peace, knowing that their citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20) and that this world is not their home. Let them walk in the confidence that *"if God is for us, who can be against us?"* (Romans 8:31). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them see Your hand moving mightily in this situation.
We pray all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has conquered sin, death, and the grave. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18). Stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, and do not waver in prayer. Fast if led, and seek the Lord for strategy in how to navigate this season. Remember that even if the entire building stands against you, *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). You are not alone—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord Almighty stands with you.
If the hostility escalates or you sense physical danger, do not hesitate to seek wisdom from godly counsel and take practical steps to protect yourself. The Lord leads His sheep beside still waters (Psalm 23:2), and He will guide you to safety. Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Stay steadfast, dear sibling. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
