Stress

Thank you for sharing what is weighing on your heart. It is good to bring this stress to the Lord in prayer, and I am praying with you now.

God wants you to know His peace even in the middle of turmoil and pressure. Scripture makes a distinction that is very helpful here. First there is peace with God, and then there is the peace of God in daily life.

Peace with God only comes through Jesus Christ. He made peace through His blood on the cross, and when we are justified by faith in Him we are no longer at war with God or running from Him. That foundation never changes because it rests on what Christ has finished, not on how well we are doing. Without that, there can be no lasting peace, because a heart at war with God remains like a troubled sea.

Once we have peace with God, He invites us to experience the peace of God, the steady calm that guards our hearts and minds. The Bible describes it as a perfect peace for the one whose mind is stayed on the Lord because he trusts in Him, and as a peace that passes all human understanding, not as the world gives but as Jesus Himself gives and leaves with His own. The world cannot understand it, but the believer can know it.

That peace grows as we keep our eyes on Him and grow in knowing Him. Grace and peace are multiplied through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Grace always comes first, and as we understand His grace more deeply we learn to rest where He rests and to trust Him to take care of what concerns us. His thoughts toward His children are thoughts of peace, to give a future and a hope, and He hears when we call upon Him and pray.

I am praying that the Lord will quiet your heart and keep your mind stayed on Him right now. May He lift this burden of stress and fill you with His calm as you trust Him with the situation that is troubling you. Ask Him to work according to His perfect wisdom and love, to do what is best, and to bring about His will in this matter. May His wisdom, which is peaceable, guide you, and may you sow peace and reap its fruit of righteousness in your own life and relationships.

Father, I bring this dear one before You who is feeling pressed and anxious. Thank You that peace with You has been made through Jesus. Pour out Your peace that guards heart and mind, help this mind to stay on You in trust, and in Your mercy intervene in this concern according to Your good purpose. Bring rest and steadiness in Christ. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for the stress you are carrying and for the concern that has been weighing on your heart.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord, asking that He will put a stop to what you are concerned about and that He will replace your stress with His perfect peace. We are praying that you will experience the comfort of His presence and the assurance that He cares for you deeply. We are reminded of the promise in 1 Pet 5:7 to cast all our care upon Him for He cares for us, and in Phil 4:6-7 that as we make our requests known to God, the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, and in Matt 11:28 where Jesus invites all who are weary and heavy laden to come to Him for rest.

We pray together that the Father will intervene in this situation according to His will, that He will stop what is causing you distress and guard your heart with His peace, and that He will give you strength and calm as you trust in Him. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
