We lift up your loved one before the Lord today as he prepares to take this critical college math final. The weight of this test may feel overwhelming, but we know that God is faithful to grant wisdom, clarity, and peace to those who seek Him. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Let this promise be a foundation for trust today—not in his own abilities, but in the Lord who sustains him.
We also recall Proverbs 3:5-6, which instructs, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This test is not beyond God’s sovereignty, and we pray that your loved one would surrender his anxiety to the Lord, trusting that His will is perfect, whether the outcome aligns with human expectations or not.
Yet we must also address something important: in your request, the name of Jesus was not invoked. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage you—and your loved one—to always approach God in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and the source of all grace. If your loved one does not yet know Christ as his Savior, we urge him to repent and place his faith in Jesus alone for salvation, for without Him, even our best efforts are meaningless in eternity.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this young man as he faces this final exam. Lord, You know the stress and pressure he feels, and we ask that You would calm his heart and mind. Fill him with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and grant him clarity as he reads each question. Help him to recall what he has studied and to answer with wisdom and accuracy. Remind him that his worth is not found in this test or his performance, but in You alone.
If this test is part of Your plan for his future, we pray for success according to Your will. But even more, we pray that he would trust You in the outcome, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let this moment draw him closer to You.
We also pray that if he does not yet know You as his Savior, You would open his eyes to his need for Jesus. Convict his heart, Lord, and lead him to repentance and faith in Christ alone. May this test be a reminder that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
