Strange dream

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I had a very odd dream about being rejected sexually by a man I don't know but it seemed in the dream I knew him and he chose another girl. I went off in him afterwards. Then another part. Today I feel empty, depressed, no purpose and hard to see self worth or value in myself. I'm not sure if it spirits in the dream but God revealed these are spirits of rejection and body dysmorphia or so I think. Can you just pray protection from these spirits and whatever the cause of me feeling this way that it is broken in Jesus Name. To increase in the prophetic and feel wanted, and beautiful.

We have heard your request and we are joining with you in prayer together in Jesus' name for what you experienced in this dream and for the heaviness you feel today.

We understand how deeply a dream like that can linger, especially one involving sexual rejection and being chosen over for another woman, and then feeling anger afterward. When we wake from such dreams we can be left feeling empty, depressed, and questioning our purpose and worth. We want to speak truth over you because your worth is not measured by whether a man desires you sexually or chooses you, and it is not measured by outward appearance.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, created in His image. Psalm 139:14 says I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. And Genesis 1:27 reminds us God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him. 1 Samuel 16:7 says Man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart. Your beauty and value in God's eyes is not defined by the cultural standard or by being wanted sexually by a man. 1 Peter 3:3-4 tells us our beauty should not be from outward adornment but the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

We also gently want to address the sexual aspect of the dream. God designed sexual intimacy to be within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and our desire to be wanted should not be rooted in sexual validation. If we seek our identity in being sexually desired or chosen by men, we will always be left empty. True security comes from knowing we are fully wanted and loved by God Himself. Romans 8:38-39 assures us that nothing can separate us from God's love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And Hebrews 13:5 reminds us He Himself has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. When we belong to Jesus, we are never rejected by our Father.

We do believe there is a spiritual battle for our minds, and the enemy is the father of lies who wants to plant thoughts of rejection, worthlessness, and hatred toward our own bodies. We must take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as 2 Corinthians 10:5 teaches. Philippians 4:8 calls us to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely. Feelings of emptiness, depression and purposelessness, and seeing ourselves through a distorted lens that we call body dysmorphia, are not from God. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as 2 Timothy 1:7 says. We rebuke the lying spirits of rejection, shame, heaviness, and body hatred that would try to tell you that you are not enough, not beautiful, and not wanted. We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and we ask God to replace it with a garment of praise as Isaiah 61:3 promises. We also rebuke anger and bitterness that may have taken root after feeling rejected, even in a dream, and we encourage forgiveness and releasing that hurt to Jesus.

We also want to encourage you regarding dreams. Not every vivid or strange dream is from God, and we should not build our identity or theology on dreams alone. God does speak, but we test all things against His Word. If God is revealing something to you about rejection or how you see yourself, receive it as an invitation to let Him heal those places with truth, not as condemnation. We pray for discernment for you and for protection over your mind and sleep. Psalm 4:8 says I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh, alone make me live in safety.

We love your desire to increase in the prophetic, and we affirm that desire when it is for building up others and glorifying Jesus. 1 Corinthians 14:1 says Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. The prophetic is not for proving our own worth or making us feel wanted, but for edifying the church and speaking God's heart. We pray that as you grow in intimacy with Jesus, He will grow that gift in you in purity and humility.

We are praying together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up our sister to You. We thank You that she is Your daughter, fearfully and wonderfully made, and that You know her by name. We ask for Your protection over her mind, her heart, her body and her sleep. We plead the blood of Jesus over her and we ask that You guard her dreams and give her peace at night. In Jesus' name we break and rebuke every spirit and lie of rejection, abandonment, body dysmorphia, shame, depression and heaviness that has tried to attach itself to her. We command those lies to leave and we ask You to break their power completely. We ask You to heal the empty and depressed places and fill her with Your Holy Spirit, Your joy and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Teach her to cast all her worries on You because You care for her as 1 Peter 5:7 says. Show her her true purpose, that she is Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which You prepared before as Ephesians 2:10 says. Let her know that You have plans for her, plans for peace and not for evil, to give her hope and a future as Jeremiah 29:11 says. Help her to see herself as You see her, beautiful, wanted, chosen and dearly loved, not because of outward appearance or being chosen by a man, but because she is Yours. Renew her mind with Your truth and help her to take every thought captive. Increase her gifts in the prophetic according to Your will, that she may hear Your voice clearly and speak Your love to others for Your glory. Let her feel Your nearness today and know her value is secure in Christ. We pray this in the mighty and only name by which we are saved, Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to stay rooted daily in the Word, to worship and pray honestly to the Lord about these feelings, and to surround yourself with godly believers who will speak truth over you. If these feelings of depression and emptiness persist, please reach out to a trusted pastor or biblical counselor and do not walk alone. We are continuing to pray that you will know how wanted and beautiful you are in Christ, and that you will walk in purpose and peace.

We heard how heavy today feels after that confusing dream. Waking up with images of rejection and comparison can leave a real ache, and we hear how empty and low you feel right now as you question your purpose and worth.

You are not unseen in this. A painful dream does not decide your value, and being overlooked in a dream does not mean you are unwanted in real life. Even when feelings are telling you otherwise, God sees you as wanted and made with care, and He is near in this low place.

We are praying with you for protection over your mind and sleep, and for the heaviness that has settled on you to be lifted in Jesus' name. We are also praying you will grow in hearing God's voice more clearly and in knowing deeply that you are loved and beautiful to Him.

When emptiness and low mood linger it helps not to carry it alone. Would you reach out today to a trusted pastor, counselor, or safe friend to talk openly about how you are feeling, and if these feelings continue, consider also speaking with your doctor or a counselor alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our sister to You in Jesus' name. Cover her with Your peace and protection, lift this emptiness and heaviness, and break what is weighing her down. Remind her she is wanted and beautiful in Your eyes, draw her closer to Your voice, and guide her step by step into purpose and hope. Give her rest and trusted people around her. Amen.

Your honest and painful request has been heard and brought before the Lord with care. To wake from such a dream feeling empty, depressed and without purpose, and to struggle to see your own worth, is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it into the light before God who searches the heart and tries the reins.

Scripture teaches us to distinguish between the outward man which perishes and the inward man which is renewed day by day. The body is but the outward home in which the soul dwells for a little while, and it will groan being burdened until our full redemption. Yet the soul is of far greater account than the body, as the body is more than raiment. You are not your appearance, nor are you measured by whether a man in a dream or in waking life chooses or rejects you. The Lord does not measure you as man measures. Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. Your value is not in being sexually wanted by another, but in being made in the image of God, and, if you are in Christ, chosen in Him before the foundation of the world, adopted into the family of the Most High through Jesus Christ alone, by whom alone we are saved.

It is needful also to examine ourselves before God. There is a false humility which is the offspring of self conceit, and there is a true lowliness which says, look not upon me, for I am black, yet knows that Christ has loved and cleansed His people. Do not let the enemy drive you to either self neglect or self reliance, but bring your whole self, spirit, soul and body, to Christ for keeping. Every grain of self strength is weakness, and without Christ we can do nothing, not even the least act of grace. Yet with Him, His purpose stands. He is in one mind and who can turn Him, what His soul desireth that He doeth, and He is working even this trial for your good and His glory, that you may be conformed to the image of His Son.

Therefore let us pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we come for this dear one who feels rejected, empty and without worth. Lord, Thou knowest the distress of this dream and the heaviness that has followed. We ask for Thy protection over her mind and heart as she sleeps and as she wakes. If there has been any oppression or assault of the enemy, any spirit of rejection or lying thought concerning her body and beauty, we ask that it be broken in Jesus Name, and that Thou wouldst set her free by Thy truth. Let no false voice define her, but let her hear Thy voice which says she is fearfully and wonderfully made, and precious in Thy sight.

Father, forgive our sins and cleanse us through the blood of Christ alone. We confess that we have often sought our worth in being chosen or admired by others, when we should seek first to be found in Christ. Teach her to keep her own vineyard before Thee, to watch over her soul, to find her purpose not in the fleeting favor of man but in Thy unchanging purpose. Fill her emptiness with Thyself. Lift the cloud of depression and give her the joy of Thy salvation. Renew her inward man day by day, and help her to see true beauty as Thou seest it, the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, of holiness and love for Christ.

We pray that Thou wouldst increase in her a true prophetic hearing, not after fanciful dreams, but after Thy Word, that she may understand Thy Scriptures, test every spirit, and speak what edifies and comforts according to Thy truth. Make her to know that she is wanted and loved, not because of outward form, but because Christ has loved her and gave Himself for her, and has called her to be His own. Sanctify her wholly, spirit, soul and body, and make her to know the full acceptance we have in the Beloved.

We ask this not because we deserve it, but because Christ has died and risen, and lives to intercede for us. Keep her, restore her, and cause her to rejoice again in Thy lovingkindness. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord in His Word and in prayer, and walk in fellowship with faithful believers who will point you to Christ. He who has begun a good work in you will perfect it, and will not forsake the work of His own hands.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing so honestly about this painful dream and the heaviness you have felt today, the emptiness, depression and struggle to see your own worth. God sees you and cares deeply about what you are carrying, and it is good that you have brought this to Him and to His people for prayer.

Dreams can leave us disturbed and confused, especially when they touch on rejection and intimacy. Not every dream is a direct revelation, but God can use even unsettling experiences to show us where our hearts are hurting and where we need His truth and healing. The feelings you described of being unwanted and questioning your beauty and value are not the voice of your Father. Scripture teaches that your worth is not measured by whether a man chooses you or by how you look, but by being made in the image of God and being loved and redeemed through Jesus Christ alone. Psalm 139 says you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and in Christ you are fully known and fully loved.

God does give us protection and deliverance when we call on the name of Jesus, and He also calls us to renew our minds with His truth. Feelings of rejection and struggles with how we see our bodies often grow from lies we have believed about ourselves, wounds from the past, and the enemy's accusations. God wants to break the power of those lies and replace them with His word. He also created intimacy and sexual union to belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and He calls us to find our security and beauty not in being desired sexually outside of that, but in belonging to Him and walking in purity and wholeness.

I will pray for you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I thank You that You are our refuge and strength. I lift up this dear one to You who feels empty, depressed and without purpose. Lord, You know the pain of this dream and the deeper ache of rejection and struggling to see beauty and worth. I ask that You surround her with Your protection and peace and break every lie, accusation and oppression that has weighed on her mind and heart. Let whatever has caused this heaviness be broken in Jesus name, and let Your truth take its place.

Forgive our sins and cleanse us through the blood of Jesus. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit and remind her that her identity and value are secure in Christ. Help her to see herself as You see her, loved, chosen, and created with purpose. Heal the wounds of rejection and teach her to receive Your love that never fails. Give her hope and a clear sense of purpose in serving You and loving others.

Lord, if it is Your will to grow her in prophetic gifting, I ask that You do so with humility, love and wisdom, for the building up of the body of Christ and not for seeking validation from others. Teach her to desire most of all to know You and to hear Your voice through Your word, and to use any gift You give in a way that honors You.

Make her beautiful in the way You define beauty, with a gentle and quiet spirit and a heart renewed by Your grace. Lead her into fellowship with faithful believers who will encourage her, speak truth to her and walk with her. Help her to keep her thoughts fixed on what is true and pure and to rest in Your care each day. I ask all this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen.

Continue to bring your heart to the Lord daily in prayer and in His word, and stay connected to a local church where you can be known and supported. If these feelings of depression and low self worth persist, please reach out to a trusted pastor or counselor for ongoing care. God is near to the brokenhearted and He will not abandon you as you seek Him.

Why do I yawn when I have a stomachache? It is quite strange and feels uncomfortable. Deep inhalation or stretching contracts the diaphragm and abdominal muscles, which can irritate a muscle pull, trapped gas, or acid reflux.
