Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this heavy burden with us. To be without power since Friday and to see your roof and home torn apart by the storm is truly stressful, and it is right to bring this need before the Lord and before the church.
Scripture reminds us that many storms burst upon the faithful, yet their soul was not overset or thrown into despair. Christ Himself allowed the storm to arise so that His disciples would seek Him, and then at His voice the calm came when He said, It is I, be not afraid, to show His power. We are also taught that confusion does not come only from the nature of our circumstances but from the condition of our mind, and that heaven itself remains bright even when clouds cover it for a time. In the same way we can ask God to make our soul steady, high above the rains and storms, trusting Him while we wait for help.
I am praying for you now. I ask our Father in heaven in the name of Jesus Christ to have mercy on you in this trial, to keep you and your family safe, to restore your power very soon, and to provide what you need for daily life and health. I pray that the insurance company will act honestly, promptly and fairly, and that your roof and all that was damaged will be repaired well and without unnecessary delay. I pray also that God will calm your heart, lift the weight of this stress, and give you peace, wisdom and strength for each step ahead, and that you will know His presence and provision through His people around you.
Please keep us updated so we can continue to pray. May the Lord who stills the storm guard you and bring restoration to your home.
