Beloved of All
Your care for your mother and your desire to see her strengthened and free from this vomiting honors God, for Scripture calls us to honor our father and mother, and part of that honor is to care for them tenderly when they are weak and unable to care for themselves.
I join you in bringing her to Jesus in prayer, asking that the Lord would touch her body, calm her stomach, stop the vomiting, and restore her appetite and strength. He is the same Lord who bore our infirmities and sicknesses, as Isaiah prophesied, and who showed His power to heal in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes gradually, and sometimes through the natural healing processes He Himself built into our bodies. All healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or step by step.
We do believe healing is for today and that God is able. At the same time we do not always understand why some are healed instantly and others gradually. What we can do is come to Jesus persistently and in faith, like the desperate mother who came to Him for her suffering daughter and would not go away until she received His help. Faith is simply trusting Him and reaching out to Him, and He welcomes that coming.
Continue to look to Jesus directly for your mother. You do not need another mediator, for we can come boldly to Him ourselves. Bring her needs to Him often, trust Him with the outcome, and also continue to use the practical help and care that is available, knowing God works through those means as well.
I am praying with you now that God in His mercy will be gracious to your mother, that the nausea and vomiting would cease completely, that her appetite would return, that she would be able to eat and retain nourishment, and that she would be strengthened day by day. May the Lord give you peace as you trust Him and give you wisdom and strength as you care for her.
