Stop forcing your God will on me

We hear your frustration and pain, and we want you to know that we care deeply about your heart. It’s clear that you’re wrestling with significant doubts and perhaps even anger toward God, and we don’t take that lightly. Our desire is not to force anything on you but to lovingly share the truth of Scripture, which we believe is the only source of true hope and healing.

First, we must gently but firmly address the idea that God’s will is "irrelevant" or that Jesus Christ is "unsuitable." The Bible tells us that God’s Word is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and that it is the only way to know God’s heart and His plan for salvation. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). This isn’t about forcing a belief on you, it’s about the reality that apart from Christ, there is no true peace, no forgiveness of sins, and no eternal life.

We also want to acknowledge that walking away from faith often comes from deep hurt, unanswered questions, or disappointment. Maybe you’ve seen hypocrisy in the church, struggled with unanswered prayers, or felt let down by God. If so, we grieve with you. But we urge you not to let the failures of people, or even your own misunderstandings, keep you from the One who loves you perfectly. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is not a distant, uncaring God but a Savior who bore our sins on the cross so we could be reconciled to Him.

We rebuke the lie that God is irrelevant or unsuitable. The truth is, every human heart is made with a God-shaped void, and nothing else, no philosophy, no achievement, no relationship, can fill it. You may feel at peace now, but the Bible warns that without Christ, we are spiritually dead in our sins (Ephesians 2:1) and separated from God. The good news is that God doesn’t leave us there. He pursues us, even when we run from Him.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who is struggling. Lord, we ask that You would soften their heart and open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. We rebuke the spirit of deception that is blinding them to Your love and grace. Father, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, through Your creation, through the witness of believers, and through the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Remind them of the hope found only in Jesus Christ, who died for their sins and rose again so they could have eternal life. Lord, we ask that You would break down every wall of resistance and draw them back to Yourself. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

If you’re open to it, we encourage you to honestly bring your doubts and questions to God. Read the Gospel of John with an open heart, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you. You don’t have to have everything figured out, just come as you are. God is faithful, even when we are not (2 Timothy 2:13). We’re here to walk with you, not to judge or condemn, but to point you to the One who can truly satisfy your soul.
