Beloved of All
Hearing the weight of what you have carried for so many years brings deep sorrow. To feel that something precious was taken from you when you were young, that powerful people have profited from it while you have felt watched and powerless to seek justice, and then to watch those same people be celebrated while you know the darkness behind it, would leave anyone feeling crushed and exhausted. It is understandable that you would come to a place of saying you do not want to live in the same world with these people.
That place of hopelessness is often where depression takes hold. When the mind stays fixed on the wrong that has been done, on circumstances that feel impossible to change, and on the apparent success of those who have done wrong, it can think itself into despair. There seems to be no way out and nothing you can do. Scripture describes a prophet who reached that very bottom. He said his strength and hope had perished, he was in turmoil and misery, and his tears did not stop. Yet in the midst of that total despair, something changed. He deliberately brought something else to mind, and therefore he found hope again.
What he recalled was not a change in his circumstances, but the character of God. He remembered that because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, and great is His faithfulness. Hope did not come from his situation getting better, but from getting his eyes off himself and his condition and onto the Lord. You can be weeping over your circumstances and still rejoice in the Lord Himself, because He remains faithful, merciful, and present even when everything around you feels hopeless.
You have also described feeling under constant pressure and investigation, as if you are being persecuted by those with far more power and resources. Scripture is honest that those who live for Christ will face hardship and persecution in this world, and that God sees every injustice clearly. When judgment comes, God will judge with perfect righteousness. Those who have inflicted suffering will answer to Him, and those who have suffered will be shown to be His. You may feel perplexed by what has happened, and cast down by it, but you are not in despair and you are not forsaken. You are not destroyed, because God has not abandoned you. He often allows His people to come to the end of their own strength, to that place of saying who will deliver me, so that we stop trying to deliver ourselves and learn to trust the deliverance that comes only through Jesus Christ. He takes what we cannot fix in our own strength and does for us what we cannot do for ourselves.
It is also painful to watch witchcraft and practices that oppose God be celebrated. Do not let fear of that power drive you deeper into despair. Fear has a way of exaggerating a situation and making it look bigger than it is, because it looks at only half the truth, what we can see, without taking God into account. If you could see the whole story as God sees it, you would see that no power of darkness is greater than Jesus. God is sovereign over all, and He calls His people to turn from darkness and walk in His light. You do not need to be entangled with or intimidated by those practices. Greater is the Lord who is with you than any power that stands against you.
When you say you do not want to live in the same world with these people, please hear that your life has value before God, and He has not finished His work in you. The despair you feel is real, but it is not the final word. God invites you to renew your mind by setting it upon Him, recalling His mercies, His presence, and His promises, and thereby moving from a consciousness of defeat to one of hope and victory in Christ. This does not mean the wrongs do not matter. God cares deeply about justice, and vengeance belongs to Him. You can leave the matter of justice in His hands while you seek healing for your own heart.
