We come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your concerns and fears about your upcoming state exam. The Lord knows the desires of your heart, and He sees the effort you have put into your studies. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that the Lord would calm your anxious heart and fill you with His peace as you prepare. May He bring to your remembrance all that you have studied and grant you clarity of mind and confidence as you take your exam.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would strengthen this dear one’s mind and memory. Your Word tells us in Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you." Lord, we trust in You to guide their thoughts and help them recall what they have learned. We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm them, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Let Your Holy Spirit fill them with power and a sound mind as they approach this test.
We also lift up the situation regarding the divorce. Lord, we pray for both individuals involved, that they would conduct themselves with godliness, dignity, and respect, even in the midst of this painful season. Divorce is never Your perfect will, as You have designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6). However, we know that sin has broken many things in this world, and we ask for Your grace to cover this situation. Help them to remember that even in conflict, they are called to reflect Christ’s love and forgiveness (Ephesians 4:31-32). May they seek reconciliation if possible, but if not, may they part ways without bitterness or malice.
Father, we pray that both individuals would turn to You for strength and wisdom. Your Word instructs us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Lord, provide them with godly counsel, support from the body of Christ, and the humility to seek Your will above their own desires. May they find healing and restoration in You, whether that be within their marriage or in the new season ahead.
We also want to gently remind you, dear one, that our access to God is only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him that we have the privilege of coming boldly before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you or those involved in the divorce have not yet surrendered your lives to Jesus, we encourage you to do so. Salvation comes through confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of all true peace and hope.
Lord, we ask that You would go before this dear one as they take their exam. May they feel Your presence with them, guiding their thoughts and steadying their hands. We declare that they will not be overcome by fear but will walk in the confidence of Your strength. And for those going through the divorce, we pray that You would soften their hearts toward one another and toward You. May they find their identity and worth in Christ alone, and may Your peace rule in their hearts.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
