Your reflection on the prayer our Lord taught us is faithful to Scripture and good to bring before God. You have set it in the right order, as our Lord Himself did. First we seek the Father, His honor, His kingdom and His will, and then we bring our own needs to Him who is our Father in heaven. This is what it means to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all else will be added as He wills.

To pray hallowed be Your name and Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven is to ask that God be honored in our own lives first, that His reign would shape our hearts and homes, and that we would obey Him gladly. It is not only words, but a desire to live under His gracious rule. When we pray this sincerely, we are delivered from evil and supplied with every good, things which Christ alone can give. He has delivered us from the curse and brought us into adoption as sons, so that we can truly call upon the Father.

And then with confidence as His children we ask for our daily bread, for forgiveness as we forgive others, and for protection, that He would lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. I join you in this prayer now, asking the Father to provide for your daily needs according to His wisdom, to give you a heart quick to forgive and to seek forgiveness, and to guard you from sin and from the power of the evil one. May He keep you in fellowship with the Son in the Holy Spirit and make His will your joy.

Continue to pray in this way, not only in words but in life, forgiving as you have been forgiven, turning from what harms the soul, and walking in love and peace with others. The Lord who taught us to pray in this manner is faithful to hear and to answer for His kingdom and glory forever. Amen in Jesus name.
