Your heart to seek the Father first is exactly the order Jesus taught us to pray, and it is encouraging to see you wanting to pray this way with understanding and not just as words repeated from memory.
The prayer Jesus gave in Matthew 6:9-13 is a pattern or model for prayer rather than something to recite without thought. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very brief, which reminds us that length or amount of time does not make prayer effective. There is great value when you take that prayer slowly, phrase by phrase, and meditate on what each request means and pray it sincerely from the heart.
You have captured the structure well. The first requests are all centered on God and not on ourselves. Hallowed be Your name is worship, honoring His name and character. Your kingdom come and Your will be done is the desire to see His rule and His purposes accomplished on earth as they are in heaven. That should be the primary thrust of our praying, to want what God wants more than what we want. Only after that does Jesus teach us to bring our own needs.
In that sense prayer moves in a circle. It begins with God, with worship and awe at who He is, and it ends with God again, for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In between, He invites us to bring both our personal petitions and our prayers for others.
When we pray Your kingdom come we are praying for the kingdom of light and life that belongs to God to overcome the kingdom of darkness and death that came through rebellion. We are praying for His righteousness, peace and joy to be evident in us now through the fruit of the Spirit, and we are also looking forward to the day when Christ returns and His kingdom is fully revealed. That longing is echoed in the final prayer of the Bible, Even so come, Lord Jesus.
When we pray Your will be done we are aligning ourselves with His will instead of trying to use prayer to accomplish our own will. The purpose of prayer is not to get our will done on earth but to see His will done.
Then Jesus teaches us to pray for our daily needs. Give us this day our daily bread covers more than food. It includes every spiritual, physical and daily need, and it rests on the promise of Matthew 6:33 that when we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, He will take care of these other things.
Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors reminds us that our request for forgiveness is connected to our willingness to forgive those who have sinned against us. We come confessing our own sin, receiving His forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus, and choosing to release and pray for those who have wronged us, trusting God as the righteous judge.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil is a prayer for protection from sin, deception and the evil one. Temptation itself is not sin, even Jesus was tempted, yet it presents a choice to walk according to the flesh for immediate fulfillment rather than walking by the Spirit. Sin comes when we yield to that pull. This is a prayer for strength to choose the way of the Spirit and for the Lord's keeping power and protection.
Prayer begins with relationship. Through faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection, we are adopted as children of God and can truly call Him Our Father. Without that relationship through Christ, prayer has no foundation. With it, we have confidence that He hears us, and Scripture encourages us that the fervent, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
May the Lord continue to deepen this pattern in your daily praying, helping you to linger in worship, to long for His kingdom and will, and to bring your needs and struggles to Him with trust that He hears and will answer according to His wisdom and grace in Jesus name.
