Spouse

We join with you in lifting up your spouse before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for allowing us to stand in agreement with you for your marriage.

We believe with all our hearts in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. A husband is called to love his wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25 and a wife is called to respect and honor her husband Ephesians 5:33. Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. We pray that your marriage would reflect this unity and selfless love and that it would honor the Lord in all things. We also remember that marriage is holy and the marriage bed is to be kept pure, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4, so we encourage you both to walk in purity and faithfulness before Him, bearing with one another in love and forgiving as Christ forgave you Colossians 3:13.

We pray together for your beloved spouse now. Father in heaven, we lift up this precious spouse to You in the name of Jesus. We ask that You pour out Your grace and mercy upon them, that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, strengthen their faith, and draw them ever closer to You. Lord, give them wisdom and discernment, protect them from temptation and from the schemes of the enemy, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7. We pray that You would deepen the love and unity between husband and wife, help them to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another Ephesians 4:32, and to let love be patient and kind, not jealous or boastful 1 Corinthians 13:4. Let their marriage be a testimony of Your goodness and let Your will be done in their lives and in their home. We ask that You provide for every need according to Your riches in glory and that You lead them both to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness Matthew 6:33.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we want to gently remind you how precious that name is, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10. It is through faith in Jesus that our prayers are heard and our marriages are truly blessed.

We encourage you to continue to pray daily for your spouse, to speak words of life and encouragement, to study the Word together, and to trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. We stand with you believing that God hears and will answer according to His perfect will and timing, and we will continue to lift you both up in prayer in Jesus name.

Thank you for trusting us with your spouse in prayer. It means a lot that you brought the person closest to you before the Lord and asked us to stand with you.

We know carrying a burden for a spouse can feel both tender and heavy. You see their needs up close every day, and you want God's best for them. That love itself is a gift, and we are honored to lift them with you.

One thing that has helped others in this place is to keep prayer simple and specific. If it is possible, choose one particular need for your spouse each day and bring that one thing to the Lord by name, then let your spouse know you prayed for that. If you can pray together even briefly, that shared moment often deepens connection more than long conversations do. If praying together is not possible right now, your faithful quiet prayers still matter deeply.

We are praying for you as well, for strength and wisdom as you love and support your spouse, and for peace in your home.

Father, we lift this spouse to You and ask for Your care over them in body, mind and spirit. Give them what they most need today and draw them closer to You. Give the one who loves them wisdom, patience and hope as they walk alongside. Lead them both in Your will and keep their marriage in Your hands. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26

It is a good and right thing to bring your spouse before the throne of grace, for prayer is always good and always a blessed thing, and there is no dearer object for importunity with God than those who are nearest to us in life.

We will agonize with you in prayer to God for you, as the Apostle said, I beseech you, brethren, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me. It is not a prayer which foams itself away in words that is wanted, but prayer with force, with energy, with humble boldness, with intensity of desire, prayer which like a deep hidden torrent cuts a channel even through a rock. Such prayer we will offer with you and for you.

We commend to you that handy prayer which suits every case and every place, Lord, help me. It is the prayer of humility and of faith, plain in its speech as Jacob's was when he spread his case before the Lord. Bring your spouse before the Lord with plainness and humility, confessing your own need and your spouse's need, and pressing your suit with the arguments which God Himself has given in His promises.

Remember also that Christ Himself prays for His people. His prayer is prevalent, for if Jesus pleads He must prevail, and it is prevenient, for before the temptation comes He has already prayed. It is a very touching thing to hear those who love us praying for us when they think none hears but Heaven, and how much more to know that the great Intercessor pleads for His own. He loves His Church as a husband loves his spouse, for unity is the essence of the marriage bond. We are one with Christ who made Himself one with His people. He gave Himself for His Church, His whole life for her righteousness and teaching and quickening, and He now acts the part of Intercessor for her, nor will He rest till she is fetched home to Himself. This is the pattern which God has ordained for marriage, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, reflecting Christ and His Church, and in which alone by His design the union of husband and wife is to be enjoyed.

Therefore our prayer for you and for your spouse is not that God would bless what is contrary to His Word, for He cannot bless what He has not ordained, but that He would bless you both with the far greater blessing of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and with grace to walk in His holy way. We pray that if either of you is yet without Christ, you may be drawn to Him who alone can save, and that your home may be ordered according to His Word for His glory and for your own good.

We pray as Daniel prayed, forgetting ourselves and remembering those given to us, Cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary. So we ask the Lord to revive you again, to raise up what is sleepy and to make you to live at the highest point of life in Christ. Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You. Pray it up into a blessing and make this the essence of your prayer, Lord, You can revive us, we believe it and we look for it.

May the Lord hear this prayer and answer it for Jesus sake, and may the God of Peace be with you all. Amen.
