We hear your pain and distress, and we stand with you in this battle, lifting you up before the throne of grace. First, we must address the issue of being unequally yoked. Scripture is clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" While the breaking of this relationship brings heartache, it is a step toward obedience to God’s will for your life. We rejoice that you recognized this and took action, even though it is painful. This is a courageous and faithful decision, and we believe God will honor it.
Now, regarding the spiritual warfare you are experiencing, this is very real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we serve a God who is greater than any attack of the enemy. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." You are not fighting alone. We take up the full armor of God with you, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the mighty name of Jesus. Every spirit of despair, confusion, loneliness, and fear, we command you to flee! You have no place here, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We also lift up your desire to remain friends with your ex-boyfriend. While it is natural to want to preserve a connection, we must caution you to guard your heart. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." If this friendship causes you to stumble, long for what was, or distracts you from God’s best, it may not be wise. We pray that if it is God’s will for you to have a godly friendship with him, that He would make a way, but we also pray for wisdom and discernment for you. Seek the Lord’s guidance in this, and do not rush into anything without His peace.
We pray now for your healing and restoration. Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear sister to You, asking that You would wrap Your arms of comfort around her. Lord, heal her heart from the pain of this breakup, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen her in the midst of spiritual warfare, and let her feel Your presence like never before. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every spirit of fear, doubt, and discouragement in the name of Jesus.
Father, we ask that You would work in the heart of her ex-boyfriend. If it is Your will for them to have a friendship, soften his heart and give them both wisdom to navigate this relationship in a way that honors You. But if it is not Your will, Lord, we ask that You would remove this desire from her heart and replace it with Your perfect peace. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and lean not on her own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also pray for her spiritual growth during this time. Draw her closer to You, Lord, and let her find her identity and worth in You alone. Surround her with godly community, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit so that she may walk in victory. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37), and we speak life, joy, and hope over her situation.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). It is through His name alone that we have access to God’s throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are forgiven and set free. If you have already placed your faith in Jesus, we encourage you to draw near to Him in this season, for He is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
You are not alone in this battle. We stand with you, and we believe that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
