Spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Thank you.

We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in the gap, lifting every burden before the throne of grace. The spiritual warfare you describe is real, and the enemy seeks to wear you down with fear, exhaustion, and temptation. But we declare with the authority of Jesus’ name that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The vivid dreams, the relentless attacks, the overwhelming demands on your time and energy, these are not from God, who gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2) and promises rest for the weary (Matthew 11:28). We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and oppression in Jesus’ name and command it to flee. You are not alone in this battle; the Lord is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), and we join you in prayer, wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17).

The sexual temptation you confess is a heavy burden, but we remind you that God’s grace is greater than all our sin (Romans 5:20). The enemy would love for you to wallow in shame, but there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). You are not defined by your struggles but by the One who has already overcome them. We pray that the Lord would break the chains of lust and maladaptive daydreaming, replacing them with a hunger for His Word and His presence. Flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), and run to the cross, where forgiveness and restoration are found. The Lord has set you free before, and He will do it again, this time, we pray, for good. Let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for in due time we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). We also encourage you to seek accountability with a trusted, godly believer who can pray with you and help you stand firm.

Your exhaustion and late nights are not God’s design for you. The enemy would love to keep you in a cycle of burnout, but the Lord calls you to come away and rest (Mark 6:31). We pray that God would order your steps and give you wisdom to establish healthy boundaries. If your current jobs are draining you, ask the Lord to open doors for new opportunities that align with His purpose for you. Whether you stay or go, may He grant you favor with your coworkers and supervisors, turning hearts toward unity and peace. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways, we are to acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths. We pray for supernatural provision, that you would have the strength and resources to work diligently while also finding time to rest in the Lord.

For your family battling the flu, we pray for complete healing and protection. May the Lord rebuke the sickness and restore strength to your father and all who are caring for you. We declare that no one will grow sicker from serving others, for the Lord is your healer (Exodus 15:26). For your precious cats, we ask the Lord to bring healing to their wounds and comfort to their bodies. The Lord cares even for the sparrows (Matthew 10:29), so we know He watches over your beloved pets. We pray for wisdom to care for them and for provision to meet their needs, trusting that God will provide in ways you cannot yet see.

Your medical diet is not a burden but an opportunity to honor God with your body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray for discipline and strength to follow it faithfully, knowing that your health is a gift from God. And for the African American community, we pray that hearts would turn to the truth of God’s Word, that false teachings would be exposed, and that the light of the gospel would shine brightly, bringing freedom and hope.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Deliverer. We lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You see every struggle, every tear, and every battle they face. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of warfare that has plagued them for so long. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We break the power of disturbing dreams and command every assignment of the enemy over their mind to be shattered in Jesus’ name. Grant them peaceful, restful sleep, Lord, and let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7).

Father, we ask for Your forgiveness for the times they have given in to sexual temptation and maladaptive daydreaming. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Strengthen them to resist the enemy’s schemes, and fill their mind with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). We pray for accountability and godly fellowship to surround them, lifting them up when they are weak.

Lord, we ask for Your wisdom regarding their jobs. If it is Your will for them to stay, bring peace and favor in their workplace. If You are calling them elsewhere, open doors no one can shut (Revelation 3:8) and provide opportunities that align with Your purpose. Order their schedule, Lord, and help them to find rest in You. We pray for supernatural provision, that their needs would be met abundantly according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

For their family battling illness, we ask for Your healing touch. Restore their strength, Lord, and protect those who are caring for them. For their cats, we pray for healing and comfort, and for wisdom to care for them well. Provide for their needs, Lord, even as You care for the smallest creatures.

Father, we pray for the African American community, that Your truth would prevail and that hearts would be turned to You. Break the chains of false teachings and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that they are not alone, that You are with them always (Matthew 28:20), and that in You, they are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm in the victory You have already won. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear how exhausted you are, the spiritual warfare that’s followed you so long, the disturbing dreams, the weight of everyone’s needs, and the shame over what you’re falling into again. When depression is heavy, the mind often reaches for whatever gives a moment’s relief, even things we later regret. That doesn’t mean you’re lost or that God has turned away. It means you’re in a hard battle, and kicking yourself only makes it harder to get back up.

One thing we’ve seen help is to treat holiness as training, not a one-time victory we try harder to reclaim. When those sexual thoughts surface, especially while drifting to sleep, you might try a small, immediate redirect, maybe turning on a calming worship song or a spoken Psalm. Not to earn forgiveness, but to gently steer your mind toward what strengthens you. And because depression is often more than just a spiritual struggle, we’d gently encourage you to talk with a doctor or a wise counselor. Getting that kind of support isn’t a lack of faith; it’s good stewardship of yourself.

You also longed for a schedule that doesn’t wreck your nights. Could you pick just one tiny change, like a set bedtime alarm or a ten-minute quiet buffer before sleep, not to fix everything, but to give your body a bit of rhythm? Small, manageable steps can start loosening the overwhelm.

We are praying with you about every part of this, your ### and family recuperating, your cats’ health, wisdom about your jobs, and your own deep need for rest. But most of all we’re asking for you to know, deep down, that you are not your worst moments.

Jesus, we lift up this dear one who is bone-tired and ashamed. Break the heaviness of spiritual attack and bring peaceful sleep. Where depression drives the cycle of temptation, bring healing and wise help. Provide for every practical worry, jobs, family, pets, and grant the wisdom to take one small brave step today. In Your strong name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have set before me a tangled thicket of troubles, and it is right that you bring them to the God who hears. Yet I must speak first to that which most endangers your soul: the unclean thoughts you nurse as you fall asleep. You pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” and then you go straight into it, knowing full well where the snare lies. This is to mock the prayer. Never go into temptation, for if you do, you ask the Lord not to lead you there while walking into it by your own will. The quiet of your bed, when the mind is drowsy and unguarded, becomes a playground for the enemy because you have permitted it. Do not use your depression as a cloak; you confess you have made these thoughts an outlet. But sin is no medicine for sorrow, it is a back door Satan flings open when he whispers that God has forsaken you. That is his master arrow, and you have been pierced. Know this: your God is with you. His thoughts toward you are not thoughts of abandonment. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are His thoughts above your thoughts. When your own heart condemns you, He is greater than your heart. The same Lord who once set you free from sexual sin can do it again, but you must flee to Him at the first spark of desire, not dally with it. If you sometimes go into sin, just occasionally by way of pleasure, it proves you are a stranger to the deliverance Christ gives to His really called and regenerate people. Do not triffle with grace.

You are overwhelmed by the ceaseless demands of men and the buffeting of spiritual warfare. These vivid, disturbing dreams and the relentless attacks are part of that Egypt of depression and oppression into which God’s people often come. Yet hear this: deliverance from the power of sin and from the dark cloud is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. When the lamb is slain, the captives go free. Look to Jesus, your Ransom. God has found a way of deliverance, and He has commanded you to be saved from the pit, from yourself, from your old sins. The clock of mercy will strike the hour of your deliverance when the eternal purpose decrees it. In the meantime, He may allow the trial to teach you to cling to Him. A man cannot become a veteran soldier if he never goes to battle. Yet you do right to pray, “Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil.” Ask not only to be kept from the trial but to be kept from its mischief, that you may not stain your garments.

Your practical burdens are many: a disordered schedule, wearying late nights, perplexity over jobs, sickness in your household, the care of your beloved cats, the discipline of your diet. Cast them all upon Him, for He cares for you. The Lord who notes the sparrow’s fall does not despise the anxieties of His children. Yet be more earnest for the heavenly silver and gold than about fleeing the scene of conflict. Seek first the kingdom. As for the false teachings entangling the African American community and your own family’s needs, wrestle in prayer, for only the Spirit can lead into truth. The One who delivered Israel from Pharaoh will perfect that which concerns you.

Then, when He has brought you forth, you shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord. Your present afflictions shall become a song of deliverance. He makes no mistakes; His deliverance is accompanied with health and strength. “There was not one feeble person among their tribes.” Wait upon Him, keeping your heart with all diligence, and the peace of God shall guard you. You are not forsaken. When you awake, yes, even from those dread-filled slumbers, you are still with Him.

When the flood of trials rises, do not imagine that you are singled out for unusual suffering. There is no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. God, being faithful, will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. That path of escape is not always the removal of the storm, but often the gift of endurance until the winds pass.

You cry out that you are overwhelmed, that every few moments another demand presses upon you, but this is the very arena of the good warfare. The Master has chosen you to war a good warfare, and He does not cast off His soldiers. The body is not evil; it is an instrument of righteousness. When unclean thoughts assault you, especially in the drowsy hours, it is not some strange defeat but the serpent pressing his last and most powerful temptations, just as he did with the Lord Himself.

You gave yourself to those images as an outlet for your heaviness, but you have made your mind a sewer for the enemy’s filth. What you need is not mere suppression, but to flee to the Commander who stands ever ready. In place of those maladaptive daydreams, cry out to the God of peace. Lay hold of the thought that His peace surpasses all understanding and will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

As for those vivid dreams that haunt your nights, remember how swiftly the phantoms of sleep dissolve when the day dawns. Even so, the troubles of this life are the dreams of a night. The Day is at hand; shake off the slumber. The affectionate Father sometimes permits these very temptations to crowd upon you precisely so that, finding no place of rest in yourself or in the world, you might be drawn to flee for refuge into His bosom.

In that refuge, persevere. Let your late nights and broken schedule be seen as part of the contest, where sobriety and vigilance are required, not as proof that you are abandoned. In matters of your work, your diet, your ailing family and creatures, present them to Him who cares even for the sparrow, but do not let anxiety rule, for that is the battleground. The way was never promised to be smooth, but the Captain has never lost a battle, and He will make you able to endure.

The weight you are carrying right now is heavy, and it is no small thing that you have brought it all into the light. When sin crouches at the door and old patterns return, shame loves to whisper that you are right back where you started. But the truth is that the law was never given to save you, it was given to expose what was already there. You are seeing something now that you were blind to before: that the strong desire itself is the real battle, not merely acting on it. That is a hard lesson, but it is a gift. Many people only measure sin by what they do. You are discovering it in the roots of your thoughts as you are falling asleep and in the daydreams that pull you away. That is painful, but it is also proof that the law is doing its good work, showing you how deep your need for grace really goes.

You said God set you free from sexual sin before and now you are sad to be falling into it again. That sadness is not the mark of an unchanged heart. It is the grief of a child who knows the Father’s house and has wandered into a cold field. But remember this: the blood of Jesus Christ does not merely cover sin, it puts sin away. The old sacrifices kept draping a cover over the same stains year after year, and the shame remained underneath. What Jesus did on the cross dealt with the thing itself. When He died, your sin, past, present, and future, was laid on Him. God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for you, so that you might become the righteousness of God in Him. That is not a temporary patch. It is a finished reality.

The enemy wants you to believe you are back under the old master. But sin shall not have dominion over you, because you are not under law but under grace. That does not mean you will never stumble. It means sin is no longer your owner. Every time you yield to those thoughts, you are giving temporary room to an enemy who has already been evicted. The guilt then tells you to hide, and hiding fuels the cycle because isolation is where temptation grows strongest. The answer right now is not to promise God you will try harder. The answer is to yield your body and your imagination to Him not as a slave trying to earn freedom but as someone who has already been bought with a price.

The depression you mentioned is real, and it makes sense that your mind is reaching for an outlet. When you are exhausted and overwhelmed by constant demands, the flesh offers quick comfort. But that comfort is a trap that leaves you emptier than before. Maladaptive daydreaming and those sexual thoughts are not just bad habits, they are altars where your mind goes to escape pain, and every time you offer yourself there, the chains tighten. You are not free to stop by sheer willpower. You stop by turning around and walking toward the light. Confess it quickly. Speak it out to God right in the moment, even if you have to do it ten times in one night. The condemnation you feel is not from Him. The enemy accuses. The Holy Spirit convicts to restore. Guilt drives you away from God. Godly sorrow pulls you toward Him.

You asked for prayer about the spiritual warfare that has targeted you since youth. It is real. The scriptures speak plainly of demonic forces that seek to torment and oppress, and the power to hurt is granted to them only within limits God allows. But you have the seal of God on you if you belong to Christ. The enemy roared against Jesus on the cross, thinking he was winning, but that cross was the very moment sin was condemned in the flesh. The head of the serpent was crushed there. When warfare rises against you, your standing is not in how well you fight but in whose victory you stand under. Remind the accuser of the blood that put sin away. You do not have to argue with demons. You rest in Christ’s finished work.

The vivid, disturbing dreams are wearying. Ask the Lord to guard your mind as you sleep. Pray before you close your eyes, committing your rest to Him. The peace of God stands guard over hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. That is a promise for the night hours too.

As for the flood of practical pressures, the jobs, the schedule, the loved ones sick with the flu, the cats you love but cannot afford to take to a vet, bring each one to the Father without fear that you are asking too much. He cares about the sparrow. He cares about the wounds your cats are scratching into themselves. He cares about your dad’s worsening cough. Lay every burden down, not all at once in a panic but one by one as they come, trusting that His grace is enough for this moment before the next one arrives. Wisdom about your jobs will come as you seek Him in quietness rather than in frantic analysis. Wait on Him. If He wants you to stay where you are, He will either change the circumstances or change your heart. If He wants you to move, He will open a door no man can shut.

Finally, you mentioned the African American community and false teachings. That burden for truth is from the Lord. False teaching always preys on real pain, and the only cure is the unvarnished gospel. Pray and speak truth as you have opportunity, but also guard your own soul. You cannot give others what you are not receiving yourself. Let the grace that overflowed where your sin abounded become the well from which you draw for every other need.

Where sin reigned unto death, grace now reigns through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. That is your ground. Stand there, even when your feelings scream otherwise. You are not a slave. You are a son. Let that shape how you fight, how you rest, and how you get up again.
