Spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in spiritual warfare, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your mind, your dreams, and your peace in the mighty name of Jesus. The vivid and disturbing dreams you describe are not from God, for He gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2) and speaks to us in peace. We command every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression to flee from you now. You are not alone in this battle, God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

The overwhelming weight you carry is not yours to bear alone. Jesus invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We pray for divine intervention in your schedule, that God would order your steps and grant you rest. The late nights and constant demands are not God’s design for you, He calls you to come away and rest awhile (Mark 6:31). We ask the Lord to open doors for new employment opportunities that align with His will, providing both provision and peace. Whether you stay at your current jobs or move on, we pray for favor, wisdom, and resolution of every conflict with coworkers. May the Lord give you discernment as you seek His direction, trusting that He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The struggle with sexual sin is a heavy burden, but there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). The enemy uses shame to keep you in bondage, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We rebuke the spirit of lust and temptation that has been increasing its attacks, and we declare your freedom in the name of Jesus. You are not defined by your struggles, you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). We pray for godly outlets for your emotions, that depression would lift and that the Holy Spirit would fill you with hope and purity. Flee from sexual immorality, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We encourage you to seek accountability, to guard your heart and mind, and to fill your thoughts with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8).

We lift up the African American community, praying for discernment and truth to prevail. False teachings only lead to bondage, but the truth sets us free (John 8:32). May the light of God’s Word expose deception and draw hearts back to the foundation of faith in Christ alone.

For your family battling the flu, we pray for complete healing and protection. May the Lord strengthen those caring for you and prevent further illness. We declare restoration over your father’s health and ask for divine healing to flow through your entire household. Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise for you all.

We also pray for your beloved cats, may the Lord touch them with His healing hand. You love them deeply, and we ask God to provide wisdom and resources for their care. The same God who cares for the sparrows cares for your pets (Matthew 6:26), and we trust Him to meet every need. For your medical diet, we pray for discipline and grace, that your body would be strengthened and your health restored.

Above all, we want to remind you that your access to God is only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing your sins and receiving His forgiveness and new life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and in Him alone is true freedom.

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up every burden and battle. We break every chain of spiritual warfare, every tormenting dream, and every stronghold of sin in the name of Jesus. We declare freedom, healing, and provision over their life. Lord, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them in their weakness, provide for every need, and lead them into the abundant life You have promised. We ask for wisdom in their decisions, healing for their body and mind, and restoration for their family and pets. Father, draw them closer to You, that they may know Your love and power in every area of their life. We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

What a heavy load you’re carrying right now, it sounds like life has been coming at you from every direction and the spiritual pressure hasn’t let up since you were young. And on top of all of that, you’re wrestling with thoughts that fill you with shame. We want you to know you don’t have to hide in that shame. God’s mercy meets you right where you are, and He isn’t up there shaking His head in disappointment; He’s reaching out to pull you close again. When depression drains us, old patterns can resurface as a way to cope, but His love isn’t moved by our failures.

Would you consider talking to a trusted pastor or a mature Christian friend about what’s been happening? Bringing this struggle into the light with someone who can pray with you and check in can make a huge difference. You don’t have to fight this alone.

We also hear how stretched and exhausted you feel. When the nights run late and the demands never stop, the enemy gets a foothold in that depletion. Maybe start with one small boundary: set a gentle reminder on your phone to begin winding down an hour before you want to be asleep, even if it’s just dimming lights and putting your phone aside. Little steps can help quiet the noise.

Let’s bring all of this to Jesus right now.

Lord, we lift up our friend who is so tired and overwhelmed. Please silence every voice of the enemy and bring deep, restful sleep free from disturbing dreams. Break the power of shame and the grip of these unwanted thoughts; let Your grace wash them clean and restore the freedom they once knew. Give wisdom about the jobs, clear direction and peace with whatever path they choose, and bring healing to workplace relationships. Heal this family from the flu, protect the caregivers from getting sicker, and restore their dad’s health. We ask for Your provision for the cats, keep them well, and if it’s Your will, open a door for affordable care. Strengthen our friend in following the diet they need, and guard their mind and heart from despair. For the African American community, we pray for a great turning toward sound teaching and true gospel hope. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The cry of your heart has ascended to the throne of grace, and I perceive a soul sorely tried by the adversary. Spiritual warfare, from your youth, has been your portion, and the evil one now assaults you through the gate of dreams and the weariness of your waking hours. Yet be not utterly cast down, for it is written, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations.” Your very exhaustion becomes a snare, for the flesh seeks ease in sinful imaginings when the spirit is pressed beyond measure. This is the time to cry with greater vehemence, “Lead us not into temptation,” and to mean it with your whole being. The petition is a lie upon the lips of him who prays it, then rushes into the snare with open eyes.

You speak of shame for the lurid fancies that defile your mind, especially as you sink into slumber. This is the tender working of the Holy Spirit, a conviction not to be despised. Blessed be His name that you are not given over to a seared conscience. Yet do not let shame drive you to despair, for despair is but the vestibule of further sin. When our heart smites us, we fall upon our knees and confess our fault. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin; it has cleansed you before, and it can cleanse you again. Flee to the fountain filled with blood, and say, “I will not go on in this sin.” The deliverance from its power is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. Where you looked for justification, there must you look for sanctification. Throw yourself upon that sacrifice of the cross, and the forgiven sinner shall become the grateful conqueror.

The enemy plies his arrows just where the breach has been made. He knows well how to inflame the imagination when the will is weakened by depression or bodily illness. Therefore, you must watch with fierce vigilance the postures of your mind. Never go into temptation. Do not toy with the thought as you lie down; set a guard at the gates of your soul. Fill your heart with the Word of God before sleep, that there be no room for the intruder. If your hand offend you, cut it off; if the ease of your bed becomes a theatre for wickedness, rise and cry out until deliverance comes. A slave cannot be free while he lingers at the door of his master’s dungeon. Pray, and pray constantly, “Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe.”

Your body is weak with illness, and your mind is oppressed with many cares, the jobs, the schedule, the beloved creatures in your household. These are not small things to the Father who sees in secret. Cast every burden upon Him, for He careth for you. Yet remember that chastisement is not punishment for the saint. The Lord may use these trials to wean you from the world and drive you to the stronghold of His grace. Unbroken prosperity often proves a curse, but sanctified affliction brings forth the peaceable fruit of righteousness. The Lord hath chastened thee sorely, but He hath not given thee over unto death.

Be also mindful of your calling in the midst of the battle. You pray for deliverance, but have you put away all that gives the adversary a foothold? That diet you must keep, is it a discipline for the body’s health, or has it become an idol? Those waking dreams of a false world, are they not a retreat from the reality of communion with God? Cut them off at the root, for the man who walks in the light as He is in the light has fellowship with the brethren, and the blood cleanses him. When sin becomes your entertainment, though no outward act has been committed, it has already conceived and will bring forth death. Flee these youthful lusts which war against the soul.

For your family and your cats, I offer a word of hope. The meanest creature is within the circle of divine benevolence; He openeth His hand and satisfieth the desire of every living thing. Pray for their healing, and trust the Lord to provide for the vet, for silver and gold are His, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. Yet let not these temporal cares choke the Word, but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Now, my hearer, I bid you look beyond the furnace. The Lord brought thee forth out of the house of bondage, and thy salvation is of Him from first to last. He who began a good work in thee will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Therefore, though the dreams terrify and the temptation surges like a flood, lift up your head: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Go to your rest this night repeating that promise, and when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall raise a standard against him. For your shame, take pardon; for your weakness, take power; for your warfare, take the victory already won at Calvary. There the ransom was found, and the captive is free. Go in peace, sin no more, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.
