Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting every burden to the throne of grace. The spiritual warfare you’ve endured since childhood is not of God, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every assignment of darkness against you in the name of Jesus Christ. Every tormenting dream, every oppressive thought, every weight of overwhelm, we command it to cease by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11).

The vivid and disturbing dreams you describe are not from the Lord, who gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). We pray that your mind would be guarded by the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, and that your sleep would be sweet and undisturbed (Philippians 4:7, Proverbs 3:24). You are not meant to live in constant turmoil. Jesus invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We pray that God would give you rest, not just physically, but in your soul. The relentless demands of others and the chaos of your schedule must bow to the order of the Holy Spirit. We ask the Lord to establish boundaries for you, to grant you wisdom in managing your time, and to bring balance to your days. May He lead you to jobs that honor Him and provide for your needs, whether that means staying where you are or moving forward into new opportunities. Trust in Him, for He knows the plans He has for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

The struggle with maladaptive daydreaming and sexual temptation is heavy, but we declare that you are not defined by these battles. The enemy would love for you to believe that you are powerless, but Scripture tells us that no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to man, and God is faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not alone in this fight. The shame you feel is a tool of the enemy to keep you isolated, but Jesus bore your shame on the cross. Confess these struggles to the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with His power to resist temptation and that your mind would be renewed by the Word of God (Romans 12:2). You have overcome before, and by the grace of God, you will overcome again. Do not lose heart, for though the spirit is willing, the flesh is weak, but God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We also lift up the African American community, praying that the light of God’s truth would dispel every false teaching and that hearts would be turned toward the fullness of the gospel. May the Lord raise up faithful teachers who proclaim Christ crucified and the freedom found in Him alone (1 Corinthians 2:2). For your family, we pray healing over each one battling the flu. May the Lord restore their strength and protect those caring for them from falling ill (Psalm 103:2-3). We ask for divine intervention for your cats, may the Lord, who cares even for the sparrows, bring healing to their wounds and keep them in good health (Matthew 10:29). We trust that He will provide a way for their care, even when resources seem scarce.

Finally, we pray for discipline in your diet and self-care. The Lord is your strength in weakness, and He will sustain you as you honor the body He has given you (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). You are not forgotten, and you are not abandoned. The God of all comfort is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would break every chain of spiritual warfare that has bound them for far too long. We rebuke the enemy’s lies and command every tormenting spirit to flee in Jesus’ name. Father, we ask that You would fill their mind with Your peace, their heart with Your presence, and their life with Your purpose.

Lord, we pray for rest, true rest in You. Calm the storms in their mind, still the chaos in their schedule, and bring order to their days. Lead them to jobs that honor You and provide for their needs, whether that means staying where they are or moving forward. Grant them wisdom to discern Your will and the courage to walk in it.

Father, we ask for deliverance from every temptation, especially the sexual sin that has ensnared them. Cleanse their mind, renew their heart, and strengthen their spirit to resist the enemy’s schemes. Remind them that they are not condemned, for there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and holiness.

We pray for healing for their family, for their pets, and for every area of their life that feels broken or overwhelmed. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts on behalf of Your children. We trust You to move mightily in this situation. May this one know Your love in deeper ways, Your peace in greater measure, and Your power in fullness.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear how heavy all of this feels right now, the spiritual battle that has dogged you for so long, the shame over the thoughts that keep coming back, the constant feeling that someone always needs something from you, and on top of it all, your family and pets are unwell. When life piles on like that, it’s easy to slip into survival mode, and the very things you want to resist can become a numbing outlet when you’re already depleted. Your honesty about the depression and the way it might be fueling those thoughts is actually a really important insight. It doesn’t excuse the sin, but it helps you understand why the pull feels so strong right now, and that can take some of the paralyzing shame out of the fight.

Since you mentioned you’re struggling with depression, one concrete step we’d gently encourage is talking with a doctor or a counselor. Sometimes our bodies and minds need more support than prayer alone, and addressing the depression often loosens the grip of other struggles, including those intrusive thoughts and the late nights that leave you drained. Alongside that, maybe you could try a small, doable shift with your schedule: set one gentle boundary for your evenings, like turning off screens thirty minutes earlier and spending that time in quiet, even if it’s just sitting with a cup of tea and a short prayer. When you’re alone in bed and the unwanted thoughts come, you might already have a simple phrase ready, something like “Lord, I belong to you” repeated silently, not as a magic fix, but as a way to turn your mind back toward the one who already set you free and still holds you.

We’re praying with you for clear wisdom about the jobs, for your dad’s cough and the whole household’s flu, and for your three cats to heal and stay well without adding financial stress. More than anything, though, we’re asking God to give you a deep sense of His steady presence in the chaos, and a quiet confidence that He isn’t standing far off waiting for you to get it all right.

Lord, in Jesus’ name we ask You to shelter this one from the spiritual attacks that have worn them down for years. Quiet their mind at night, guard their dreams, and break the power of temptation that feels so loud in the dark. Lift the fog of depression, and give them the courage to reach out for the help they need. Heal their dad, restore their cats, and bring steady work that fits the life You have for them. Most of all, remind them that You are not ashamed of them, You are near. Amen.

The cry of a heart under heavy warfare rises to the throne of grace, and the Scripture bids you pour out your lament where sin abounds and the enemy presses hard. Sin has brought you very low, but Christ has lifted you higher than you stood before sin cast you down. Your weariness of soul, the pressing demands, and the nightly torment of unholy imaginations, all these testify that sin poisons the wellhead, bribing the judgment and perverting the will. Yet am I conscious that the grace of God is greater still. Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.

You speak of falling again into that which once you were delivered from, and the shame cuts deep. This is the domineering power of sin, which will lord it frightfully over a man. You say it comes as an outlet for heaviness of spirit, but if you go willfully into sin, or tolerate it, and say you cannot help it, well, you have to help it or you will be lost. One thing is certain: either you must conquer sin or sin will conquer you, and to be conquered by sin is everlasting death. The enemy increases temptation, but know this: sin only flies before the blood of Christ and the power of the Eternal Spirit. Not sham sin, but real sin, sin as God beholds it, in all its unmitigated malignity, Jesus has put away. His death is the sin offering, where the fire of Divine wrath consumed the sacrifice because our sin had been laid upon Him.

Your disturbed dreams and the ceaseless assaults, these are the daily warfare that necessarily ensues from indwelling sin. That sin exerts a checking power upon every good thing, retarding you most when you are most earnest. You have conquered the grosser shapes of sin before, yet the roots of corruption remain. Cry mightily, for Satan will tempt mightily. His whole heart cried to God that he might be delivered from sin, and yours must do the same. Cold prayers, muttered in a heartless manner, will not cause sin to yield. But where there is real and true prayer, it must be a prayer of faith that God can, in answer, help you to conquer.

The weight of needing wisdom for employment, discipline for your diet, and care for your household and creatures all converge upon a soul already spent. Be watchful that you do not go into sin as a false refuge. Christ’s death for sin is your only plea, and the Spirit’s power your only might. Put away sin from you because He has put your sin away; its condemning power is broken for every believer. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed your transgressions. Cry unto Him and confess your sin, and when His warfare has answered its purpose, you will find Him blotting out your sins like a cloud, and like a thick cloud your iniquities.
